CGI KAIDO.... UGHH OMG xD this episode was very awkward to watch at least the first half.

Tyler

How much do i have to pay you to switch to the manga or do i have to start a petition? I just don't see why Jami feels the need to suffer with the pacing when she can solve this issue. She has no problem reading webtoons. Most of her audience are manga readers anyway.

MickFoley299

Well, I think most people will find that watching a person react to an anime is a lot more entertaining than watching them react to a manga.

Tyler

Lol no that's not the case at all. Manga reactions are just as hyped.

Raiv

every zoan user has man/beast form if u remember lucci and kaku the form where they fought Straw hats with and it's the best form to fight for zoan users

Slussh

what started playing music, jami's words makes me feel like i should know but i honestly don't lol

One piece would probably never work if they switch to seasonal. One of the main reason would be the amount of time in between the time a season air and the manga. By the time the anime would reach the end of wano, the manga would be near being finish. Currently there's around 46 chapters ahead of the anime. If they switch to seasonal you could double if not triple that number. For example if we take my hero academia which is seasonal, the difference in between the end of the last season compare to now is around 120 chapters. The amount of reveal that you can get in 100 chapters is unimaginable. At that point there would be no point to only watch the anime since people would100% get spoiled if they use any type of social media. Yea the cgi sucks but I don't mind since toei knows when they need to go 100% on the animation. In my opinion I don't think this episode needed the amount of effort that they put in 1015,1016,1017.

Olin

It's hybrid form. I don't why it's call man beast form 😂

Adam Vialpando

Not really. You might be in the minority here. Plus there is an added benefit to the anime that the manga is missing. I mean ch 1000 was dope as hell but episode 1015 was fucking iconic and will go down as one of the top shonen episodes of all time.

Adam Vialpando

Hey not every episode can be as hype as the last few. Plus the animation wasn't even too bad all things considered. I'd rather watch cgi Kaido then cgi Colossal Titan. Trust me, this will all be worth it when we see more of the epic shit that is to come.

Adam Vialpando

Both mean the same thing and get the point across so neither is wrong.

Tyler

I highly doubt i'm in the minority. I'm very involved in the community to know this is the case. One or two amazing episodes doesn't make up for alot of the other mid inconsistent episodes.

John tran

Same as always.. Luffy had many help before luffy fight the main villian. For this plot for example A bunch of strong samurais and then the worst generations ganging on Kaido. Then luffy plot armor , power up beat Kaido. It was not a 100% 1vs1 fight Kaido vs luffy all the way. Even if Luffy wins its not a fair fight at all. Kaido could of killed luffy several times but cause of plot amor luffy wins somehow at the end :(

GoldArthur

I've never enjoyed watching a manga reaction... If she reads the manga, then it will take away from hyped reactions to the anime, because she'll already know what's going on. Face it, you're just impatient and want to see her reaction to the new stuff. You won't care after that.

Ichigoat

Why you complaining about a fair fight lol.

Jackx

what a stupid take.

KillerB

@Tyler I would very much want that too, I am a manga reader as well but that doesn't take away from watching the anime at all. Like the good episodes makes me hella hyped even though I know whats coming and episodes like this makes me hella mad as well because I know it can be better than this

Sharknessa

so... what's going on with Magi?

Tyler

@GoldArthur If she reads the manga i don't want her to react to the anime. Because there's no point. And also its not that i'm impatient to want to see her to react to new stuff. I could care less about that. I care about her experiencing one piece the best way. In my opinion.

Lyon

She'd probably lose a shit ton of money if she went to manga. Its just a terrible business move...even if you think its better, it would not be nearly as entertaining watching her read words off of a page. (also in your community of manga readers does anyone do patreon manga readings? because I have genuinely never seen one.)

SalmonYu

Any update on isekai quartet?

GoldArthur

right. Fair fights don't matter. In fact, Zoro should just poison Mihawk and then have the Strawhats gang up on him. He's still the best swordsman either way, with Mihawk gone.

GoldArthur

@Tyler The anime IS the BEST way. I'm sorry. Oda is an incredible author, and his manga skills are almost unmatched, but, even with the occasional pacing issues and and budget issues, the anime is the better way to consume it. It brings it to life in color, movement, impact, with emotional voice actors/actresses, dramatic scores, and is presented TO you, making it more comforting and accessible to watch with others. If manga was better on it's own, anime wouldn't even be needed, and wouldn't be considered a great accomplishment by authors.

Juan Linan

this person is always complaining. Simple solution if you don't like stop watching it

JamiUwU

Im reacting to that in the summer. June/ once the current seasonals I am watching end

Ibzinho

yes kaido is in his man bear pig form. Only Al Gore can stop him now.

JamiUwU

So like with my fate reaction I posted, I had huge issues with the video. My computer was crashing the moment I hit end recording so I had to go through re-sync up everything. so everything I recorded that day the files are a little messed up and are taking forever to constantly sync up the audio. THe file itself isn't damage there is just some weird delay going on.

Slussh

thank you!

Adam Vialpando

Considering how much Oda geta involved in the anime and movies I'd say he also agrees that animation is the best way to experience it.

Adam Vialpando

If Kaido lost 1v1 to Luffy then I would lose all faith in One Piece. Kaido has been hyped up so much that it NEEDS to happen this way. Kaido taking on the strongest samurai in Wano, 5 of the Worst Generation, and his OP daughter is what needs to happen for his defeat to be in any way acceptable. I mean right now Kaido is tanking everything they throw at him and barely saying 'ouch'. Say what you will but Luffy always puts 100% into it and the victories feel earned even if he had help.

Ooe

I recommend you call of the night for the seasonal summer anime it's very popular one by the same author of dagashi kashi

Sharknessa

Yikes! I hope everything works for you soon. I appreciate the update.

Dandy

Half man, half bear, half pig, half fish, half dragon.

Razyel22

Well her reactions for anime wouldn’t be as hype if she doesn’t like the pacing. Episodes like 1015/1017 don’t happen often. One Piece pacing has always been poor, but she was able to binge through it before so you don’t feel it as much.

Ichigoat

One piece is entirely to long for it to be seasonal. Anime like demon slayer are capable of adapting 1 arc into a entire season but when you have something like One piece where 1 arc is 100+ episodes the manga would be over for like 2 years before we even get out of wano. One Piece anime wouldn't end for like 20 years

Kevin Schomaker

I never liked the idea of One Piece going to seasonal. That would actually unnecessarily extend the anime by way too much, and at that point, you anime onlies would just be better off reading the manga if you wanted to avoid spoilers anyway.

Kevin Schomaker

I have seen people do live manga reactions for One Piece, and I'm just going to say it straight up. The anime is the superior way if you're a reactor. While, yes, I do agree that the manga is superior overall, watching someone else read it is pretty boring.

Tyler

@GoldArthur What you just said is so subjective. Saying "The anime IS the BEST way." and "the anime is the better way to consume it." very subjective. Doesn't seem to be the case considering more people read the manga.

Adam Vialpando

Where are you getting these numbers? It's a lot harder to judge how many people watch an anime instead of reading the manga.

Adam Vialpando

Uh, she hasn't binged for awhile now. She has been caught to the anime for like 100 episodes now. And the pacing hasn't bothered her much so far. And the pacing for Wano has not been as bad as other arcs. Not only has it had some of the best animation of the whole show but it has been consistently better for average episodes too. Not as many still frames that last for a whole minute.

Abraxas

I feel like they cut the budget of this episode for the ones to follow ^^

Jaded_J

Law used radio knife against Kiado, not gamma knife right? Anyone know if there's an actual difference?

Monkey bing bong

Looks like they had a budget of 4 pieces of gum and a broken pencil for this episode with how long they dragged things out.

Kevin Schomaker

You know, I just thought of something. When the manga and anime ends, Toei should do something similar to DBZ Kai for One Piece. That would help with the pacing issues some of you have with the series. (Though, I personally don't mind the pacing one bit. After all, I had to sit through episodes of Goku charging up a Spirit Bomb for days on end, and that was torture even for a lifelong DBZ fan like myself. Compared to that, One Piece's pacing is rather tame.) And yes, I know One Pace exists, but that's not an official Toei show.

Nardoc

Nah thats complete cap. You are just defending one piece because you are a fan boy. It would 10000000000% work as seasonal and be waaaaaay better.

Nardoc

Yeah Jami its weird a lot of the animation in some episodes like 1017 are just really colorful but thats it... Like really flashy colors all over the screen... It does not have the epic fight choreography and actual animation of something like demon slayer, Fate Stay or JJK.

Nardoc

ugh and this episode everybody standing around watching while luffy hits kaido... like yo jump his ass

SalmonYu

Thanks for the update!

SonicKing2004

I get what you're saying as it did seem like Luffy was punching Kaido a bit long. However you have to consider the other side of the coin. Kaido is an emperor, moreover he's reportedly the strongest being in the world as they say "in a one-on-one fight Kaido will win." if Luffy downed Kaido in the first 10-15 seconds of the episode there would be an uproar of complaints with people saying "Kaido was overhyped" or "guess the animators and storyboarders are phoning it in today" because someone like Kaido shouldn't fall that fast. It's a rather fine tightrope that they're walking and pleasing everyone in this situation is next to impossible, but I find myself grateful that they opted to have Kaido weather so many of Luffy's blows before being knocked down. P.S. I didn't know where to put this so I put it here: do you know when we're going to see the reaction to Slime's OPs and EDs?

MickFoley299

Goku didn't really spend that much time charging up the Spirit Bomb. The Vegeta one was one episode. The Freeza one was two episodes with much of it filled by a dumb Ginyu Force filler battle on Kai's planet. The Buu one was longer at six episodes but it did include a lot of other stuff going on such as Buu vs. Buu and Vegeta vs. Buu. Even in GT it only took one episode.

Kevin Schomaker

True. I can tolerate the Buu one much better now that I've seen similar shows like Naruto and One Piece. But back when I was watching those episodes on Toonami, I was feeling a bit impatient by the third episode.

Dragon Prince

Personally, I like that they're using CGI with Kaido. He's this huge and threatening presence and the CGI makes it feel really imposing and threatening I really felt like I was facing the final boss in a video game and it's this giant overwhelming monster!
