"You're the best stress ball a girl could ask for. Definitely, you're a keeper!"
Arriving on the heels of the last build released early in the month, here is Build 0.9.0 of my slice-of-life femdom comedy visual novel Don't Flex On Me Yumi-Chan!!!
Why 0.9.0 and not, say, 0.9.9 to better follow-up 0.8.9? Just because! To my defense, I never said I was good at versioning.
With this release, Episode 8 is considered COMPLETE! We are very close to the end of the game, which has a total of 9 episodes planned as of this moment.
Now you can see Junko's side of the story of Episode 8, in what turned out to be a significantly longer scenario than Rin's (1117 lines of code for Junko's path vs 779 for Rin's path). I figured that, since Junko was the last girl introduced in the game, she has some catching up to do and deserved the extra attention.
Also, I believe Junko truly is a fan-favorite character. I've had a few players sending me private messages telling me she was their fave, so I am inclined to treat her a little more careful than I would the others.
And boy, am I proud of my work here. We really get to see ALL of Junko's sides in this episode. The tough, angry punk. The sensitive friend. The troubled daughter. It's all there. This one's definitely for the fans.
In this new build, you'll find :
About 35-40 minutes of new story : Help Junko navigate a rough patch and deal with difficult family drama.
New H-Scene : Junko needs to vent some of her anxiety and anger. Help her by becoming her personal stress ball. Don't worry, it's all safe...or is it???
Minor fixes : Oops, I forgot to update the CG gallery with the new images from build 0.8.9. Should be fixed now. Sorry!
You can download the newest Build 0.9.0 for PC, Linux, Mac and Android by clicking here. Please note that I cannot test either the Linux and Mac builds, so they are offered only as a convenience. Hopefully, everything works fine. Ren'Py makes it easy to make bug-free releases.
And that's it. I wish I had time to release a commentary track or something similar for these games sometimes, because I feel like I have a lot to say about this new build. The choices I've made, the things I did and did not include, etc.
Ah, such is the life of a creative, it's all just a series of difficult choices.
What's next for the month of May? Honestly, I do not know. I have nothing ready at the moment, I need to commission artists for more content, especially for The Bodyguard Girl Remake. So I might fall back on more content for Princess Olivia? Please look forward to what I'll be putting out next month, it'll be a pleasant surprise, no doubt.
Until then, stay safe out there!
