Lol, apologies for the twists and turns!

I wanted to watch some more tonight, and because of your sweet messages, and other work/life plans and balancing, I just really wanted to record my reaction and talk to you all about it. Then I ended up watching 2 episodes 🤣

I'm really glad I did. Some of my favorite moments in the show happened in these two episodes.

I hope you all take care of your hearts if this made you feel all squishy and vulnerable like me. Reminder to please be kind to each other in the comments, though most of you don't need that reminder. Sending much love and thank you for all your reassurance and love and light!! 🤍

I can't tell you how happy it makes me that you're back on this, Meg! You know, back when the show was first airing and SyFy announced that they were dropping the show, we were all sad.. and then Amazon stepped up and picked the show up again and we all celebrated... Well, in a way, this feels to me like the second time The Expanse has gotten a reprieve, and it actually feels almost as good to me as it did back when the show was rescued from cancellation. Seriously. How crazy is that? 😄 Maybe I shouldn't say that -- don't want you to feel pressured. You do what you need to to keep your mental health and your sanity, and if you need to take more breaks, we'll be here for you whenever you're ready to continue. So... no pressure. But I'm so glad you're back. It's really interesting to me how much you love this season, because as you probably have heard by now, a lot of the fans of the show weren't especially fond of this season -- or the book that it was based on, for that matter. I mean, I don't think many people think this season was *bad*, but a lot of folks rank it below most of the others, at least marginally. The thing is, while I do agree that the pace of this season is a bit slower, especially compared with what preceded it (Season 3 was pretty much off the charts in its breakneck-edness), the somewhat more relaxed pacing of Season 4 affords more opportunity for character work, and it's SO good. The writing really IS on another level this season, so many great, heartfelt scenes, and you're honestly the first person I can remember (other than me) who has made that observation. This is why I love your reactions -- you GET it. And I agree, 100% That said... one minor thing I think maybe you didn't get, though I think you might have figured it out toward the end: The ship that Chrisjen had destroyed and the light shuttle that Murtry asked to be turned into "an option" -- you conflated those two things, but they are actually two completely different ships in two completely different places. I can see how you could have drawn that inference given the way the two scenes sort of echoed each other, but the ship that Avasarala had taken out was a Belter freighter (the Sojourner) that had been reported destroyed, but it clearly wasn't. And it was headed toward a UN asteroid spotter satellite near Earth -- basically, a critical part of Earth's defense systems, and it was sent there by Marco, though I don't think Chrisjen knew that at the time. The light shuttle that Murtry had modified was attached to he Edward Israel, in orbit over Ilus, far, far away from Earth. We haven't seen the results of that little project yet. So, two ships turned into offensive weapons, but by different people, for different purposes, and in different parts of the galaxy. Both of them were up to no good, though. So in that way... very similar. Yeah, they really ramp up the cliffhangers this season, but of course, it wouldn't be The Expanse without them. I would definitely have your beta blocker meds at hand -- or at least some Xanax -- before watching 7 and 8. You ain't seen nothing yet!

This is happy news for us, so just know that we are grateful for your sharing your reactions to this gem of a show. As far as I am concerned there is no minimum Expanse quota for you to reach. No need to put on a show for us. I am happy knowing you are enjoying it and if you post it that’s just a bonus. Take care of yourself setara!

Clearly Meg, you are an empath and that means a show like this can weigh on you and cause you to need breaks now and then. The show deals with such intense issues and emotions and then our world goes and mirrors those issues and emotions and its like a snowball effect! As a fellow empath you will never regret finishing the show and whether its with us or without us is entirely your call (just like Naomi says! We can give you the reasons to go on (or not) and you can make up your own mind!) I am glad I got to see those two scenes with Lucia and Alex and of course Naomi's talk with her along with you because you remind me of how much I love this show and how much I love sharing it with others who "get it" just like you do! On a slightly lighter note, you mentioned how much you enjoyed the actor playing Mason who was guarding Amos near the beginning and the show runner and writers loved his performance as well! (keep an eye out for him later!).

I echo the others about seeing that you've redegided reacting to The Expanse. It's great to have you back. Just one observation...and I may be completely wrong about this. I think you may be getting a little confused about the locations and relationship of events. Keep in mind that Chrisjen's and Bobbie's stories are taking place in the Sol system (our solar system), while the events on Ilus (New Terra) are taking place in another system separated by light years, and travel between them takes months, even via the rings. This is another way of saying that Murty's turning the shuttle into a proximity bomb has nothing to do with the ship that Chrisjen had destroyed. [Murtry hasn't used the shuttle-bomb...yet. ] Looking forward to your future reactions. xx

I'm always blown away by your empathy and awareness with this show. I've watched it about 7 or 8 times over, but re-watching with you is giving me even more insight and emotion from the show.
