Oh I'm so ready to watch this and out of all the Fox X-Men movies, this is one of the better ones. Can't wait for what you think of this, even though you have watched this already. Though I can't wait for your reaction to the next one, Days of Future Past. That one is probably one of my top favorites of the bunch with the other one being Logan though that one I saved as the last one you watch since it came out after X-Men: Apocalypse and it's the last movie in the whole Wolverine trilogy that started off with the awful X-Men Origins movie you watched. Plus it's so much more impactful after watching the other movies, excluding the Deadpool movies

Love this movie but they did Darwin absolutely dirty here. Out of all the characters to kill they chose the one that is basically impossible to kill.

It's actually hilariously absurd how badly they do him. The black X-Men known for literally not dying. And he's the only one who dies. His power is his body adapts to ANY situation such that he survives. Literally any situation. Like, in the comics, he was fighting the Hulk and as soon as his body realized it would die fighting the hulk, it literally just teleported him away. When his body was locked in a permanently state to die by some evil techno geniuses, his body literally went "ok then" and turned him body into living digital code so he could survive in the computer!

The older woman Raven turns into during her bedroom scene with Erik is actually Rebecca Romijn. The actress who played Mystique in the previous x-men movies! A fun little cameo.

You'll be glad to know that McAvoy and Fassbender are themselves thoroughly supportive of Charles x Magneto shipping

Zachary Beverly

I hope you watch X-men 97 after you finish the movies.

Matthew Cronin

If you want a Magneto Origin comic, read X-Men Magneto Testament. It is a very rough comic to read as it shows the extent of the holocaust, but it’s very powerful and really helps you relate to him more.

Matthew Cronin

Fun fact: Azazel, the red guy, is the father of Nightcrawler from X2.

SHe's gonna flip out over DOFP

I trust everyone to tell repeat the words "rogue cut"

Everything you said about what it must be like to be Charles growing up was giving me Jessica Jones Season 1 flashbacks.

Quick hopefully experience enriching non-spoilery notes: 1. The other reason Charles was screaming was because his mind was still connected to Shaw, holding him still, he felt it. 2. The other reason Mystique goes with Magneto is that Charles broke his promise and invaded her mind. 3. You've probably forgotten, but at the end of X-Men Last Stand, when Charles takes over the body of the brain dead man, it's Moira who he says hello to when he wakes up.

Anna Kyruin

Re: Magneto's actors: Michael Fassbinder says he did study McKellen because he wanted it to be believable they were the same person, but also did his own work to build the character on top of the trauma of the narrative and how much younger Erik was at the time. I think he knocks it out of the park.

Derion taylor

Lol moira is not jean. She is the woman at the end of xmen last stand in the post credit scene taking care of the man in the bed. When he awakes and says “hello moira” she then responds “charles?”

Without wishing to spoil, Transformers One reminded me of this in a lot of good ways. Probably my favorite X-Men film, purging the ick of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (in fact the original title of this one was X-Men Origins: Magneto). The franchise has always been deeply rooted in civil rights movements and the 60s was a big time for that, as well as showcasing how far they had yet to come with some of the casual sexism floating around with Shaw and the CIA guy. The film got me following James McAvoy's film career and rooting for Michael Fassbender to be the next James Bond. Great choices for the start of the dueling opposites we've come to know, though Patrick Stewart has joked there's no way he looked as handsome as McAvoy when he was his age. I hear The Wolverine is good too but I don't want to wait long for Days of Future Past. Oh well, I can be patient.

The Northlander

I hope you check out "The Wolverine" 2013 movie, as it leads up to X-Men: Days of Future Past.

George Baxter

I respect that people love this movie, but the cheese is what takes away from it for a lot of people. There are some great character dynamics and plot points. There are also characters like Banshee that are just there... I remember watching this with my brother who is not a big comic fan. He laughed a lot at the more melodramatic elements. Ultimate while this film is great, its not for everyone

Henry Jackman also scored Captain America the Winter Soldier.

Even more fun fact: Mystique is his mother. And with them on the same team, that creates the perfect opportunity to make a blue teleporter baby.

Matthew Cronin

I don’t think mystique is his mom in this universe but Azazel must be his father.

James Germain

when Charles connect with someone he feels everything that they feel, he wasn't mourning for the nazi, he was feeling the coin going through his skull lol
