Oh yeah, it's all coming together

Yeah this was an awesome episode! This is basically the reason why Dick became Nightwing, at least in this continuity. But what Dick says in this episode about wanting to be his own man and not live in Bruce's shadow, that was the original reason as to why he left Batman to become Nightwing in the original comics and similar to this episode, they did have an argument about it and a major falling out and never spoke to each other for a while. I do think that Bruce let his guard down and sort of let Dick punch him. I do think that Bruce sometimes forgets himself and goes a little too far with criminals but he always gives back or tries to make it right when he does screw up. I heavily disagree with anyone who thinks Bruce is a horrible father to not only Dick but the rest of the Batfamily and even when he is depicted as such, I chalk that up to bad writing because there are some writers who for some reason like to write him as such. Cause at the end of the day, Bruce is proud of his kids, especially with Dick. He has admitted how proud he is of Dick and how he thinks that Batman should be more like him. And Dick also still cares for Bruce. And unlike Dick, he has never been able to heal and move forward from his trauma. I think that's why the episode Robin's Reckoning all the way back in S1, after Dick asks if the hurt ever goes away, Bruce tells him that it'll get better in time, for you. He never says for us because he knows it's too late for him. And while I do agree that Bruce is definitely not a perfect parent, I do hate when people go so hard on him and make him out to be really horrible. I think people forget the trauma he suffered and how it has shaped him. Granted I'm not condoning the times when Bruce can be distant, neglectful, or just a jerk towards his kids but he is balancing a lot on his plate and like we've said, he's not perfect but he's trying. So I'm glad you didn't go real hard on him Meg unlike some others who I don't think they know anything about the character and are just finding reasons to hate on Batman. People just need to leave him alone. Also I’m glad Dick is becoming your favorite cause he’s also my favorite in the Batfamily besides Jason and another character that you have not met

Also I hope you react to the next episode cause it’s another amazing one and it’s actually pretty fun! We’re so close to Batman Beyond and the other shows!

Fantastic emotional episode finally going into detail on Dick's abandoning the role of Robin to become his own person, an adult. They've been building up to this all season really, showing how his long war on crime has started to affect Bruce in adverse ways, his closest allies realizing that it will never stop. The caped crusade will ALWAYS continue and it can never succeed completely. Still worth doing, but not everyone is willing to give up their entire lives (literally OR metaphorically) to it like Bruce has. Shades of Over the Edge here as well, except this time it's for real. Kind of a shame they never had the time to make episodes out of Nightwing's solo adventures- the comics gave him a new rogues' gallery in Bludhaven (the city he moves to protect).

What I loved about this one is when Robin called Batman out on going too far in front of that man's family and then for never telling him about Babs being Batgirl. See that was the last straw so he punched (he so deserved it) and dumped him and that's how he then became Nightwing. Course he didn't know Bruce made it up to that guy he harassed and got him a job.

See, this is why I'm so excited for when you get to the DCAMU films because even though I feel like Dick doesn't nearly get as much screentime as he should in most of the films, he steals the show whenever he's on screen.

Late response but jason does exist in this universe but in the animated series comics which is officially canon to the show
