I literally thought that Arnold was the protagonist who hunts down robots, so enjoy this totally blind reaction. 🤣

I recommend going for the Special Edition for Terminator 2 it adds more scenes of character developments. Altho its sometimes called an extended version, its not to be confused with the Extended Special Edition, which is basically the same thing but with an alternate end scene.

Yeah Meg, I thought the same thing myself the first time I saw this movie too and it was shame cause Arnold mostly did the good guy roles in his past movies back then except for this one. However it's a little different with him in the second Terminator movie!

This is the best Terminator movie and might be in my top 3 favorite movies of all time.

great reaction. I will say though, yes there are memes surrounding this, but ive never heard of people laughing about the general film or performance. You're the only one ive ever seen find it so hilarious! It could be some of the memes you saw were from future movies? Maybe that primed you to laugh way more than you otherwise would have. Also, im super glad you vibed with the music so much. It truly is iconic. I love that synth wave sound or whatever its called. Also you picked up on things that few people do which is awesome, as usual!

Avoid spoilers for the 2nd one.

I recommend theatrical version of the sequel.

Thank you! I had no idea it was so spoiler heavy! How exciting :)

Mage Reacts

It was literally just 'i'll be back!' and then far cry blood dragon that made me think it was campy I guess?? But I learned pretty quick lol!

SpyyZ 053

Yes Terminator 2 :)

Armchair Rizzard

im sincerely excited for your journey through these classic sci fi and horror films. I can't wait to see what you'll react to next!

It's one of the cases where they didn't hide the spoiler in the marketing at the time, but if you jumped into the movie blind, there are some nice surprises.

Great reaction Meg and sorry for the off-topic question. Are you and Caleb planning on reacting to Arcane season 2?

Another classic Meg, you’re going to love Terminator 2. Avoid spoilers heavily, because that movie itself is a perfect movie from start to finish. T2 is also considered the spiritual end to the Terminator franchise, bc unfortunately after that this series sort of ushered in the modern movie franchise oversaturation. As for the casting, the original Terminator was supposed to be played by then sports superstar and up and coming actor OJ Simpson. However it was changed somewhat last minute to Arnold Schwarzenegger because the creators felt that OJ wouldnt believably be threatening enough to play the cold blooded murder machine. This ended up being Arnold’s most iconic role, who at the time, was quoted calling it “some shit movie”. You’ll also catch several famous James Cameron actors in this who would show up in other iconic movies like Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen and Michael Biehn. The influence this movie had on Cinema/Sci-Fi cannot be overstated. As it really brought the genre into the mainstream as well as pioneering filmmaking techniques for several other well known films to follow. The 80s-90s era were definitely a golden age of large blockbuster movies where even action/thrillers had amazing storytelling and dialogue. I’d highly recommend checking out the first Die Hard as it gets closer to Christmas. As I’m sure you’d also love that one as well

A snarky magazine article described it well: 'The movie which took full advantage of Arnold Schwarzenegger's inability to act like a human being'. Despite having a villain role, he became the face of this franchise along with many other 90s action movies, and when he was gone it just kind of stumbled around until it died. Though apparently the Sarah Connor Chronicles did okay without him. T2 was the one that really blew box-office records, will always remember watching it late into the night at a sleepover. I would also recommend Robocop, as it's often compared to this.

Mage Reacts

Oh yeah, I'm not sure about OJ in this role. Good call recasting tbh 🤣 and yes I haven't seen Die Hard, but some people are sooo adamant it's a Christmas movie, so I might have to do that this year LOL

Followed by Our RoboCop Remake, I hope

Terminator 2 is my favorite movie of all time. It's as close to a perfect movie as possible.
