So excited for more Justice League! I knew you were going to love this episode and I love that you got really emotional when John said the Green Lantern oath to restore the power battery in Oa. Now you're seeing why so many of us consider John to be one of our favorite Green Lanterns. You are right that Green Lanterns usually don't kill as the ring will even tell them that lethal force will not be engaged. I'm also glad you met the Manhunters and know that the Guardians created them. Not to spoil anything from the comics, but the Guardians creating the Manhunters is not the only horrible and shady things they've done. But I'm so glad you are now a fan of John. I hope you eventually give the Green Lantern animated series a watch since they do cover some of the other Lantern colors, especially cause once you know each of the other Lantern colors, I'm really curious to know which one you'd be apart of and what the rest of the community thinks they'd be apart of. Others will probably say this already but the Green Lanterns are not assigned to protect a single planet but to protect a sector of space and in those sectors include multiple planets. In John's case, he's assigned to sector 2814, which includes not just Earth but other planets. It's why other human Green Lanterns like Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner are not always on Earth at the same time since they can be off protecting another planet within the sector or get assigned by the Guardians to another sector in space. Also I'm glad you talked about the writing of this show compared to more current shows and movies cause like I said with the first reaction, this show's greatest strength is its writing and with how emotional you reacted at the end, I'm even more excited for you to check out the rest of the episodes cause it gets better and better! The next episode is another amazing one that focuses on a character you've been asking for more of

Thank you Meg, I was hoping you’d upload something on my birthday ❤️

Technically Green Lanterns protect a sector of space, not just their planet. Earth is part of sector 2814

I think you will love the flash even more later throughout the seasons, amazing episode and this series just gets better and better with each season personally.

"If the ring was not lit, then you must acquit" God I love Wally.

This is the 2nd time we've seen Superman stop a gas chamber execution, the first was in the animated series, the episode "The Late Mr Kent." Green Lanterns protect an entire space sector, not just their home planet. Basically they divide the universe into 3600 slices, like pizza slices with "Oa" the Green Lantern headquarters planet at the dead center of the pizza, and the universe is the pizza. 2 green lanterns per slice/sector. There's usually dozens of inhabited planets per sector. So long story short, John has to protect multiples planets not just earth. Also John reciting the Green Lantern Oath at the end is awesome!

It's about time you continued Justice League TAS Meg! Well you saw what John Stewart is all about as a GL. He was willing to take responsibility for something he was accused of but really didn't do. Also for a distraction Flash is pretty good for it, Hawkgirl can fight even without her mace and YES that was the GL oath John recited and he was pretty cool at it too. Looking forward to more episodes!

To answer ur question let me first say this was yet another Fantastic dcau story arc. However in the known universe there are 3600 sectors of space. Each sector has multiple planets in it. Earth is part of sector 2814. This is the sector that John stewart, hal jordan, kyle rayner and other human lanterns are assigned to patrol. This sector falls under their jurisdiction. So john and the rest protect multiple planets within sector 2814 which is why they’re not always on earth and is also why u always see a different green lantern along side the justice league cuz none of the lanterns really stay put on earth for too long. So john was probably on patrol and was investigating a band of pirates in deep space committing theft and decided to pursue them which leads to the events of this two part episode. The other lanterns like Hal and kyle im willing to bet are currently on other planets while these episodes are happening which explains their absence on the show. Also u have heard the green lantern oath in ur previous green lantern reactions but never as emotional and as badass as this recital was.

Flash: Don't you have any lawyers here? Chief Judge: We solved our lawyer problem a long time ago. 2nd Judge: However, you could speak for him if you wish. 3rd Judge: But be aware- If you lose, you will share the same penalty as the accused. Flash: The same penalty? You mean...That's crazy! Chief Judge: No. That's how we solved our lawyer problem. - Great intro to the setting of the Green Lanterns, an intergalactic defense corps that looks after a multitude of worlds, not just Earth. John Stewart is great here, accepting that the Justice League believed in his innocence even when he didn't, and neither did the rest of the Corps. Flash also cements himself as the fan-favorite here, able to do a hilarious filibuster to buy his friends time.

I think I sent you a few books a little while back, one of them features Wally West somewhat prominently: Crisis on Infinite Earths, one of his major milestones. He makes a small appearance as one of the many cameos in New Frontier too

Been a while since Supes '78, but in the final act when the missile triggers those earthquakes we do see him realigning the plates. Motherf@$%er can pull planets...he can deal with an earthquake no sweat

Good video! I do agree that I think Marvel & DC are at their best when it comes to animation. Most DC and Marvel shows pre 2012 were great with the writing, character arcs, and worldbuilding. Shows like JL, Teen Titans, & Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes does a good job making each team have compelling relationships that make them feel like genuine friends/family. Just unfortunate some of these shows were cancelled or underrated.

There just isn't as much animated shows now, I think Gunn changes that at DC. Young Justice was good tho, and Harley Quinn's animated show is good.
