Some great reactions in this one 😂. Can’t wait for you to reach some of the later entries in the DCAMU & Tomorrowverse sagas.

Mage Reacts

Haha did you skim through are you just guessing? 🤣

Party Pooper

Skimmed through and found the Nightwing bit, lol. Will watch the rest later.

Matthew Cronin

Omg I love how you stated with “it was that b**** Talia” and you didn’t even know she roofied him yet. I was laughing my butt off

Sonia Deepak

LOL I knew that would be your reaction when Nightwing showed up! Diva is the perfect way to describe Damian hahaha.

The Amazing Webhead

I’m hyped for the reaction! Damian was introduced in Batman issue 656 in 2006 with the same backstory of Talia drugging Bruce to get her pregnant & raising Damian in secret until she decides to let Bruce raise him & he became Robin & still is to this day. Damian is mixed in the fandom. There are fans who like him but others at least early on didn’t due to his arrogance & jealousy to the past Robins cause how he viewed himself as Batman’s real son. Over time he does grow as a character and developed close bonds with Bruce & other Bat family members especially Nightwing.

The Amazing Webhead

Also you got to see Slade/Deathstroke again since Arkham Origins. His ties to Ra Al Ghul is only in this movie. Slade’s backstory is different in the comics but I think they did a decent job incorporating him in this story. What Talia did to Bruce to get her pregnant was messed up but unfortunately that isn’t the worse thing she’s done. I say that because sadly as far as I’m aware, Talia’s stories at least in 2000’s after Damian was introduced to 2010’s portray her as more toxic. I’m excited to see more reactions in the future.

This was such a long awaited movie. Now you have met the main fourth (or fifth) Robin. I'm actually a little surprised you didn't give Damian that much crap as many fans when he was first introduced really despised him for being a spoiled brat. But he has grown a lot since then in current comics. As for how Damian was born, it's unfortunately true that Talia basically SA'ed Bruce. However the writer, Grant Morrison (which this movie is based on part of their comic run from 2006 to 2013) said they originally based Damian's birth on elements from a non-canon comic called Son of the Demon. In that comic, Bruce and Talia do have a consensual one night stand and she gets pregnant from it. But she later lies to Bruce that she miscarried as she and Ra's had noticed Batman being reckless after the knowledge of potentially having a child. She tells Bruce to continue being Batman as a promise to their child, while unbeknownst to him, she puts their child up for adoption. Grant mentioned in an interview that the SA thing was due to a misremembering of the comic and NOT the original intention as to how Damian came to be. Since then DC has retconned it to have it where Damian was conceived from the one night stand that Bruce and Talia had in Son of the Demon and retaining pretty much everything else you saw in the movie with Damian being raised to be an assassin by Ra's and Talia and then meeting Batman for the first time when he's about 10-13 years old (which I don't think they mentioned how old he was but yeah he was around those ages). Side note, I'm glad you talked about victims of SA, specifically male victims. I loved your reaction to seeing Nightwing. I love his brotherly relationship with Damian and it only gets better in the next movies and the comics. Same with fatherly relationship Alfred has with Damian. The sarcasm and sassiness that Alfred has will always be hilarious but the way he does it to Damian is probably the best. You also mentioned how Nightwing reminds you of Caleb. Honestly you should tell Caleb that if he grows his hair out long a little bit, I think he would absolutely kill it in a Nightwing cosplay. I'm not sure about any comics regarding Talia and her life as I'm also curious about her upbringing and also about what her relationship is like with her half sister Nyssa. I also think that the reason why Bruce used the Lazarus Pit on Talia was because he still loves her. Sure it is dumb for Bruce to be in the moment with her while his son is having a fight with Deathstroke but I think it goes to show how distracted he gets with ones he loves. Cause while Talia has done some questionable things, they still have love for each other and often times Talia is usually conflicted with doing things for her father and wanting to help Bruce. I mean in the early comics, she was depicted more heroically. It's just sad that in modern comics she has been depicted to be more like a villain but I believe in recent years, they've made her more of an anti hero again. It's one of the reasons why I don't hate Talia as much as before as I feel like the times she is a villain is due to bad writers not understanding her character. But I'm so happy you finally got to this movie and met Damian. Now you can finally watch some other DC animated movies and not be confused as to who the Robin is since Damian does appear in other Elseworld animated movies outside this connected animated movie universe since Damian is still the current Robin in the comics. Can't wait for Throne of Atlantis next!!

So HeroesKey covered it pretty well below, but yeah Batman was sexually assaulted by Talia. That's in the Grant Morrison comic. DC has since retconned that in later comics, I think. Damian was introduced in the mid 2000's, I think 2005 or 2006, so kind of recently. I remember people complaining about Damian on the internet a little, but now it seems he's a popular character. I'm excited for the Throne of Atlantis movie, but you really read the Throne of Atlantis comic if you get a chance, the animated movie is good, but comic is just so much better.

Unstablebeast

People complained similar to how people complained about damian in this, alot of people HATE his initial character before he has any development. And yeah they retconned it...... but still have bruce shocked he has a kid so another instance of making bruce dumb for the plot

Superheroes Rock

Well strap in cuz ur about to see damien in nearly every film of this universe and the kid is a handful lol

Superheroes Rock

i did find it weird how batman had almost no reaction to anything that was going on including the fact that his child was conceived from rape. Which also happened in the books. That is one of my gripes with this version of batman in that he is very cold and emotionless throughout the film series and he doesn’t really try either to switch his voice as batman and bruce so it came across as dull to me but overall he’s fine as batman. Nothing beats the emotion and range of conroys various iterations of batman especially BTAS tho so the bar is set high tbh

You have just met Batman's blood son DAMIAN the new Robin! Unfortunately he was raised and trained by his grandfather Ra's Al Ghul and the league of assassins and that's why he doesn't know how to be a normal kid. Also the way he was born was sometime ago Talia drugged Bruce and obviously made him do her and got her pregnant with Damian.
