Justice League vs. Teen Titans

Comments

Matthew Cronin

Teen Titans is a fun show, but if you want the best version of them you gotta check out Young Justice. I highly recommend checking it out after you finish Justice League. It is probably the best DC series there is.

Yes you finally met the Teen Titans or at least the DCAMU version of the team. So to clarify cause you said that Dick Grayson is part of the team, he was a founding member Teen Titans and their leader during his time as Robin. He alongside the other sidekicks like Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Speedy, and Aqualad are all founding members. Characters like Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire and Cyborg who you and most are familiar with the Teen Titans cartoon joined much later and became the New Teen Titans. I never gotten into the cartoon until much later but it's definitely one of my favorite shows. I would love a reaction to the show but I’m also okay with you just watching it on your own time too. Or maybe we could make a list of episodes we’d love to see you react to and the rest you can watch on your own. Raven's father Trigon is not Satan or the Devil but he is a powerful demon and they essentially imply in the movie that Trigon essentially SAed Raven's mom to create her as she obviously didn't know he was a demon until he revealed his true form. Speaking of Raven, at the end when you were saying the jewel looks like a Bindi, that's because it kind of is since the inspiration of her character was from an Indian actress and her outfits were originally inspired from Indian culture. And with Starfire, iirc she was inspired by a Puerto Rican actress. To kind of learn about Blue Beetle, his live action solo movie is pretty good. But I'm so happy how much DC we've been getting from you. From the DCAMU reactions and the Justice League cartoon reactions, which by the way I can't wait for the next episode!!

Good reaction! Teen Titans are fan favorites in the fandom & one of the things that made people DC fans was the 2003 animated series including me. I would be excited for reactions to the show or if you want to watch it on your own too that’s cool with me. It isn’t connected to any previous series so you’re good. Despite having 5 seasons, it’s 13 episodes each & have funny & heavy/emotional moments. I think you would love it especially with the found family trope. Glad you got to meet Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, & Blue Beetle. While the film mentioned bits of their origins, canonically, all their backstories are pretty dark but having them all come together as a family is what makes them beloved by many. Nightwing when he was Robin helped founded the team and is usually the leader. Once the characters got older in the comics, they would be more referred as Titans or The Titans & usually become mentors to younger heroes who join the team which is why Dick & Starfire were more like mentors here. Brought it up cause currently in the comics, characters like Raven & Beast Boy are now young adults whereas Damian is still in his teen years. There is a live action Blue Beetle movie you can watch that tells you more about his story. Lastly, In canon, Starfire is Dick’s second biggest love next to Barbara Gordon.

I love the overarching story of these films of course, but it's the little things you react to that I love the most MM, you're great, appreciate the content. No, Trigon (Raven's dad) is not the devil but he is a very powerful demon Yes, WW and Superman are kind of a thing here (which I understand from a character perspective seeing as they're kind of the same but I prefer lois too, the elseworld stories are a whole different thing when it comes to these two lol) but don't worry lois is still here and these series of films aren't over yet *wink wink*, can't wait til you get to justice league dark (my personal favorite) That demon that damien fought was Ras, He's literally the "demon's head" it wasn't random, you were correct. Trevor, who batman referred to when talking to cyborg is Steve Trevor (the old guy from the series & chris pine's character in the movies) in this universe he's there present day instead of the past, Cyborg is Victor Stone (him and Shazam are best buds if you remember along with his neglectful father) Yes, Barry (The Flash) has superspeed which means he heals superfast as well. Yes, Nightwing is apart of the titans (usually him and the rest of the bat family take care of gotham while bruce does league stuff), him and starfire are a thing, if it's not her it's usually barbra (batgirl) who they switch out from time to time depending on the story being told or who's writing, they do the same with batman as well (sometimes it is wonder woman instead of selina or whoever else is chosen he has a long list lmfao, admittedly I am a fan of him and WW because of the JL series) sorry for the paragraph.

I hope you'll check out the Teen Titans animated series soon.

the ages of the teen titans is a tricky thing cuz in the teen titans 2003 show: dick grayson, starfire, raven, beast boy and cyborg are all the same age and are teens but then in this continuity dick, starfire and cyborg are older adults while beast boy and raven r young teens and they have blue beetle as part of the team. Essentially what im saying is every adaptation of the teen titans has a slightly different roster and age range. And yea dick is a founding member of the teen titans. Tim drake would join later on and then of course damian is the latest robin to do so. In the comics the very first roster in the 80s was dick grayson, wally west, wonder girl, aqualad and speedy. Essentially all the sidekicks of the main heroes decided to form a league of their own and step out of the shadows of the justice league. This is also heavily explored in the young justice show which has 4 seasons.
