LETS GO! This is on of my fav episodes, the writing just hitsca ehole new level and most of the episodes feom here are great! Also the deal Superman makes here and how he went about it will be a big part of the next season.

These are my favorite episodes of the show. I highly recommend playing the Injustice Games and reading the comics that go with them, they’re my favorite dc story. A comic reaction for those issues would be so epic

An interesting thing to think about is Superman could really rule the world if he wanted to, but he puts the limits on himself rather than others. But I think like we see with the alternate universe, Superman there’s always a thought in the back of his mind that he’s frustrated that the world’s not improving as fast as he wants and he does fact know better than the rest of the world. Why inspire humans to make the world better when you can just do it yourself.

The Batman writing was so good. "They'd love it here." "Who?" "Mom and Dad. They'd be so proud of you." "Just drive." Kevin Conroy was the best. Also did anyone else notice at Arkham that they lobotomized the ventriloquist dummy but not the actual ventriloquist?

The fact that the Justice League could easily take over the world is a interesting idea. The fact that it’s members are so moral and put others needs before theirs. I agree that Superman should only kill as an absolute last resort. Meg mentioned Man of Steel, he had to kill Zod to protect others, and it wasn’t an easy decision for him to make. Batman should NEVER kill period, that is his inviolable rule even though the temptation is there. I believe that the others should be held in a similar manner to Superman. I am kinda surprised that Meg doesn’t recognize Doomday, the monster Justice Lord Superman lobotomized. The biggest question this episode asks is should the ends justify the means. The Justice Lords have achieved the eradication of crime at the expense of basic freedoms. While the Justice League has not achieved its goals but it is inspiring others to work with them to achieve it.

This is definitely a reaction I'm going to be revisiting cause this is still one of the best episodes of the whole series. Interesting you mention how some of this reminds you of the Crisis on Two Earths movie because the movie was technically suppose to be part of the same universe as the show with them using the Crime Syndicate instead. But for some reason, things didn't work out so they opted to created the Justice Lords, which is original to the show. However, one of the head writers for the show, Dwayne McDuffie was told years ago that they wanted to make the original script into a movie so he had to go back in and rewrite certain parts. Mainly take out any elements from the show so that the movie can just be its own Elseworld story. But this episode was so powerfully written. With Lex being president in the other dimension and Flash's death being the reason why the Justice Lords basically snapped and took over the world. That whole back and forth between the Justice League Batman and Justice Lords Batman is probably one of my favorite Batman scenes ever. Not only cause of how well written but also the way they shot it, it feels like Batman is having a conversation with his inner self. I also love how both Batmen know how to hit them with lines that they know will affect them with the Justice Lords Batman telling Justice League Batman that they made a world where no other child will suffer the same trauma they endured and Justice League Batman clapping back at the Justice Lords Batman later that their parents would be so "proud" of the world he made. The big villain that Justice Lords Superman lobotomized was Doomsday, who you met in that Superman: Doomsday movie. He's the one villain that is mainly notably for "killing" Superman. I'm glad you caught how when the League went to the other world's Arkham Asylum, that they were lobotomized and you can tell because they all have the same two dots in their forehead from Superman's heat vision, the same he put on Doomsday. It's really messed up But these multiverse episodes are just so good cause it does make you question, what would you do if you met an alternate version of yourself that was either evil or had a very warped mind to yours and did things that maybe you would never do. I also like how at the end our Lex Luthor is wanting to go into politics, similar to what the other world's Lex did. It'll be interesting to see what happens. But thanks for getting this reaction out as fast as you did Meg!!

the fact that Scarface is the one who got lobotomized instead of Arnold and having the same effect on him makes it kinda funny but also so sad

Ya know I believe this is the two part episode of JL TAS that inspired the video game INJUSTICE!!! You outta go to YouTube and check out a game movie of that and you'll see what I mean.

Now we get to the really good stuff. Landmark episode that has massive ramifications going forward in the series, and a lot of people's favourites. Injustice long before Injustice. On another episode Doomsday would have been a major event. Here he's just the sideshow, the guinea pig showing how differently the Justice Lords do things. Only thing worse than suffering under the boot of the fascist is when you become the fascist out of anger and fear. Kind of hard not to let 'politics' slip into it when the episode is about Superman losing his faith in people's ability to make the right choices after the people of his home country willingly elected President Lex Luthor, who then went on to murder the Flash for fun and was on the verge of starting a nuclear war. And made it clear that he could quickly use his power and influence to weasel out of any charges if he were arrested. Naturally the inspiration for the Public Enemies movie too. They had the opposite problem of some earlier episodes- so much story and not enough time to fully examine it all in. It focuses on Justice Lord Superman and Lord Batman without much detail given to how Wonder Woman or Green Lantern changed their lives to fit in, telling those stories more through their new costumes than words.

Mage Reacts

Omg of course it was Doomsday!! Thank you for letting me know!

I didn't recognize him a year ago in another movie. Idk why but it's a continuous experience that I don't recognize him 🤣 y'all will need to pop quiz me

Yeah I don't know why people say we don't get a lot of J'onn when he's the only character that's been in every episode.

There are a lot of great things that America stands for. As an outsider looking in, I can see a lot of really good things about America, especially the fundamental ideas of freedom and individuality. It's such a shame that you guys have gotten to this point, but the beauty of the system is that as long as you still have faith in it, democracy works, and fascism always loses.

The things I like about Superman and also Captain America is they represent what America should and could be. They are the truest form of what I consider to be core American values. Fighting for what's right, defending the weak, and protecting the innocent to your utmost ability. Not to get overly political, but superhero media IS political, so there's really no avoiding it. I grew up in a right-wing household that was very pro-America, and it shaped alot of my core values. But, I was also hypocritical without realizing it. I spouted freedom and justice but I held biases and bigotry inside that I didn't do any self reflection on. Be it transphobia, homophobia, racism, etc. When January 6th happened, it threw off this narrative I had built up in my head of what the right and the left were. And, it may sound silly, but Captain America as a character was part of the reason I realized I wasn't truly living and believing the values I claimed to have. Which was liberty and freedom and equality for all. It took me probably a year to really dwell on and realize that I was supporting something that none of the founding fathers, even with their faults, would ever want for America. Fascism is the anti-thesis of Liberal values, and I just didn't realize I was one. I'm glad these characters exist, because they can show us who we can be if we do what's right. All in all, I'm still a patriot, but what we currently have in the white house isn't what America is supposed to be. Anyways, sorry for the long comment lmao. This episode and that flag shot that I totally forgot about when I rewatched it with you really spoke to me and what this country is dealing with right now.

I did! Scarface is confirmed sentient and not just a delusion of the Ventriloquist
