Justice League: Dark

Scott Handsome

Have you ever gotten around to Justice League: Doom? It's a decent adaptation of a late 90s early 2000s JLA story and it's pretty solid. Has most of the same cast as the animated show.

Lego Batman Dc Superheroes Unite Animated movie about Batman, Robin, and Superman Teaming up

Felix Döring

You met Felix Faust in the first season of Justice League when he petrified the Amazons to force Wonder Woman to help him free Hades from the Underworld. Because Wonder Woman sought the help of the Justice League and brought men on Themyscira she was banished at the end of that two parter. Also good catch that Destiny is a version of Dr. Destiny from the nightmare episoded in Justice League.

And another movie which uses the exact team and is set in the same universe from the justice league cartoon is Justice League vs the Fatal Five.

Yeah this was such a fun movie! Now you've met members of Justice League Dark which are sort of separate to the regular Justice League as they handle the more mystical side of the DC universe that the Justice League can't always handle. You got to meet so many new characters as well like John Constantine, Black Orchid, Dead Man and Swamp Thing. And got to see the first appearance of Zatanna in the DCAMU and learn about her little history with Constantine, which is a thing in the comics. I find it kind of hilarious how in the Hall of Justice when the JL are going over the magic crimes happening, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, and John Stewart Green Lantern are just there now as they were never formally introduced in this continuity. You're right that John Constantine is actually British and it's kind of funny to me how a lot of people who may have watched the Keanu Reeves Constantine movie don't realize that he's not only a DC character but blonde and British. Same goes with Swamp Thing. I don't think a lot of people know he's a DC character. It makes me wonder how that Swamp Thing movie that's being developed in James Gunn's DCU will be like. I loved that you got reintroduced to other characters besides Zatanna like Etrigan/Jason Blood, Doctor Destiny and Felix Faust (who I think appeared in that one Justice League episode where he's working for Hades). Looking at the cast for this movie, I didn't realize that Jeremy Davies (the voice actor for Baldur in God of War) and Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus in the Tobey Maguire Spider Man movies) are in this. I am interested to see what you think of the next DCAMU movies which are the Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Also can't wait for the next Justice League episode since it's another one of my top favorites in the series. As for other suggestions, I'd love to see what you think of Superman: Red Son. It's an interesting Elseworld story. Another one is Justice League: Doom, which one person commented on already. It's one of my favorite movies from DC and it was written by the late great Dwayne McDuffie, who was one of the head writers for the Justice League cartoon and Doom was actually one of the last projects he worked on before he passed. But this is another amazing Elseworld movie. Anyway, thanks again for the reaction and enjoy your trip!

Matt Ryan, the voice of Constantine, is Assassin's Creeds Edward Kenway himself! A couple of fandoms coming together. Matt Ryan also plays him in a few different live action projects.

50:38 the rings are science, tech built by the guardians of the universe. in DC magic and science are 2 separate things but both capable of insane things

Starkiller

Highly recommend watching Constantine: City of Demons. It’s a self contained story but it fits in the timeline as one of Constantine’s personal adventures.

no. justice league vs the fatal five is set in the same universe as the justice league cartoon, not justice league doom which is standalone.

In the comic books the Justice League Dark is a team introduced in 2011, compromised of magic users who deal with mystical threats. In current comics they are actually a subgroup of the regular justice league which currently has 100s of members. John Constantine was introduced in Saga of the Swamp Thing by Alan Moore and went onto get his own comic book called Hellblazer, initially written by Jamie Delano before being given to other writers like Garth Ennis and Paul Jenkins over the course of its 300 issue run. In this movie he is played by Matt Ryan, the voice and model reference for Edward Kenway from Assassin's creed 4. He first played Constantine in the short lived live action tv series and has since been the go to for the role, playing almost every version of the character across multiple different forms of media. Whilst Matt himself is from Wales in the comic books John is from the English town of Liverpool. Should also be noted in the comics his name is pronounced with a tyne sound instead of a teen sound. As briefly mentioned in the movie Swamp Thing used to be scientist named Alec Holland. He and his wife, Linda, were developing a bio restorative formula that would allow plant life to grow in hostile environments. Whilst doing their research in the Louisiana swamps a terrorist organisation named the Concalve attempted to blackmail them into giving their research over. When they refused they put a bomb in their lab which exploded and killed Linda. Alec meanwhile got sprayed by the Bio formula which set him on fire. He ran into the swamp and the bio formula merged with the swamp water, seemingly turning Alec into the monstrous Swamp Thing who lived many years on the run. If you want to get into swamp thing I highly recommend his live action 2019 tv show. You mentioned poison Ivy and an interesting factoid that I don't believe is brought up outside of comics is that she and Alec actually went to university together. Pamela, Alec and Linda as well as Susan Linden and Philp Sylvain all studied bio chemistry under Dr Jason Woodrue at Harvard. As fate would have it all of these individuals who have a future tied to super powered plant life. Pamela became Poison Ivy, Alec became Swamp Thing, Susan would have her life saved by Philp and in the process get powers that turned her into a plant based superhero called Black Orchid and Woodrue would become the plant based supervillain the Floronic Man. Speaking of Black Orchid she appears in this movie has the purple lady. In the movie she is a manifestation of the house of mystery which is very different from the comics where the name is used by a series of plant elemental superheroes. Speaking of the House of Mystery, that is actually from the dc horror title of the same name. It is the home of Cain, from the story Cain and Abel, with Abel living in the House of Secrets, another dc horror comic. The books would have either Cain or Abel telling the reader a horror story centred around a secret or mystery. It is in one of these stories that Swamp Thing was first introduced, albeit a different swamp thing called Alex Olsen.
