Wally is absolutely my favorite hero of this lineup. Although, I love all of them.

This was such a fun episode. I love that this was a Flash centric episode. You really see the difference between Barry Allen and Wally West. Barry I'd say is more dad energy and doesn't really joke as much or like Wally does, whereas Wally is obviously more young and sometimes immature, which can be a great dynamic as you said when you combine it with John Stewart's more serious demeanor. That Glorious Godfrey guy is actually a notable character in the comics but I won't really say more other than yeah he's a sleezy guy like Wally's agent. I also love that Wonder Woman calls him a "rude little man" as she has a villain named Doctor Psycho who is a literal rude little man that she deals with sometimes. Wally talking to John about going on a road trip and discovering America, I'm wondering if that is a reference to that one comic called Hard Traveling Heroes where that does happen except with Green Arrow and Hal Jordan Green Lantern. This episode you also sort of met the villain named Eclipso. While they changed much of what he is, the costume the general was wearing was basically his classic costume in the comics. But Eclipso in the comics, especially modern comics is different and far more powerful and dangerous than what the show portrayed him or rather sort of portrayed him but I won't say much about him either. But I'm glad you love Wally as much as we all do. I absolutely can't wait for the next episode though cause it's one of my top favorites next to the one you watched recently, A Better World. Also I know you're going to be getting back to the DCAMU movie reactions but just to correct you, the next movie is actually Justice League Dark, not the Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay. But thanks again for another Justice League reaction!

Wally aka Flash was the HERO of this two part episode! Also that G Gordon Godfrey was just such an asshole trying to make the league seem like their hiding something from them or that they're working with the bad guys or anything else like that. I'm just glad that damn fool was dumped by his sponsors at the end.

Really fun episode! I always love it when they depicted the publics opinions on the heros. Also im a big fan when the flash is the focus. Next episode almost like sneak peak of what justice league unlimited will be like with its expanded cast/ its a tear jerker, just so you know, but also one of my favs

More of a comedy episode focusing on Flash and a very Silver Age villain's reinterpretation. Originally, 'Eclipso' was a demon with the ability to possess others who didn't have much motivation beyond general evil deeds. Speaking of deep cuts, G. Gordon Godfrey is based off Glorious Godfrey, who was an agent of Darkseid who used his mind-influencing powers to turn the public against superheroes. No change there then. And this was made before the internet escalated media punditry into the Kafkaesque horrorshow it is today. If I had one complaint, it would be that the B plot with Godfrey is only barely connected to the Eclipse gem. I guess the common thread is how Mofir was a hero and did the right thing despite his hobo looks and speech not inspiring trust in very many, but Wally had faith in him. Nice seeing his growing friendship with GL, a straight man for his antics.

I just noticed on this watch through. The book Godfrey reads is titled "The Innocents Seduced", a reference to the famous book "Seduction of the Innocent". That book had a major impact on the discourse surrounding comics in the mid-50's. This led to the comics code authority restricting what was allowed to be depicted in comics, which caused the transition from the Golden Age of comics to the Silver Age and it's generally more lighthearted and silly stories. That's why we have Barry Allen's Flash, the more silly interpretations of Batman and his rogues (like the Adam West series) and it even caused the emergence of the larger Marvel universe as the Marvel comics group tried many new ideas to get around the restrictions of the CCA. That is a significantly deep cut into the history of comic books.
