after finishing season 1, lanterns is definitely my second favorite DC show, only behind the penguin (which i'd LOVE if you did a reaction to!) i just wish we saw more of sinestro & more constructs, but hopefully we'll get all of that in season 2

For a finale, I think it was pretty decent. It wrapped some things up with the story but also left the door open for a second season and also sort of sets things up for the future of the DCU, especially cause Gunn did say that this show ties into the greater universe as a whole. You're not alone in thinking that John using a Lantern battery forged by Sinestro seems like a bad idea as when he was charging it, there was hints of yellow in it. This could potentially set up John becoming a Yellow Lantern in the future but also for Sinestro to set up his Sinestro Corps/Yellow Lantern Corps as he was just left there on that planet. He also mentioned in his conversation with John and the Halogram that he could potentially bring back Hal Jordan and it makes me hope he does as I just think Hal's death was done so bad as it wasn't even some heroic sacrifice but just Sheriff Kerry shooting him point blank in the head because she was scared about what Hal would have done to Noah, even though he never threatened to hurt him and just wanted to protect them. I do hope that by Man of Tomorrow next year, the news of Hal's death will have some affect on the universe and the superhero community and that if he stays dead that their will be a proper funeral for him with all the heroes attending. I mean for all we know, considering how much older Hal is in the DCU, he could've been a hero that Clark, Bruce and other heroes looked up to and were inspired by. But I really do hope that this show isn't the end of Hal Jordan as a character since people have waited 15 years since his last live action appearance with Ryan Reynolds' movie, only for us to get him for just 8 episodes and then he's gone again. And also cause he plays such a major role in some of the greatest Lantern stories in the comics and much his history with some of the other Lanterns are tied to the mythos. It does make me wonder what repercussions will happen with John leaving Noah alive and if he will fall into his Manhunter nature as they said. It will be interesting if that happens in the future. As for John becoming an independent Lantern, not officially part of the Green Lantern Corps and not aligned with the Guardians, it's an interesting choice. He's basically like Alan Scott Green Lantern as Alan was the first Green Lantern in the comics but is not at all aligned with the greater Green Lantern Corps and got his ring and lantern by forging his own using a mystical meteorite called the Starheart. Something I do wonder is while John is using Hal's ring, charging it with an unsanctioned Lantern made by Sinestro, and creating his own oath with it, I wonder if that really means the Halogram is truly gone or if it might still be with John as he didn't say the Green Lantern oath and there is potential for Hal or rather the Halogram to show up again. I'm also curious to see how John will interact with the other heroes in Man of Tomorrow as he is going to be showing up and so is Guy Gardner. I wonder if they'll have issues when fighting against Brainiac. But regardless of the choices the show made and how people feel about the show in general, I am glad that this basically kind of changed the perception of Green Lantern to general audiences. And while I hope we get a season 2 of the show I do hope we get a Green Lantern movie in the future. As for the Penguin, I do hope you can check it out eventually but I also hope with the end of Lanterns, that you can check out the Green Lantern Animated Series since it's on Tubi. Also I know you said you avoided looking into the Lantern lore but I really think you should check it out as I think you'll love learning more about the mythos as a whole and maybe draw some parallels to Star Wars as their are some similarities. Also cause I do miss your reaction to lore videos as well

I thought it was good but didn't like how johns relationship with his family seems to get resolved offscreen. Can't wait for you to watch the penguin.

Well the most important thing is that Earl the plant is okay. Earl is at the house when John reconnects with his family at the end of the episode. I hope they bring back Hal next season, Sinestro said it could be done, maybe he's lying maybe he's not. I hope we get more alien Lanterns next season and maybe more off world adventures.

Haha I know you warned us that your mind goes into wild places with theories lol but the whole time I’m like is cause Kerry loves him they’re love was real! That’s why she was there when he got out. She wasn’t playing the long con. And they explained the letters they were sending each other. But man you were to sus of her from the start lol I liked her character 🤷‍♂️ but from what I gather either when she grew the finger Zoe just transferred her DNA maybe intentionally as a secret weapon? But obviously the nurture from Kerry is working. Btw I don’t think she got back with Billy lol co parenting remember? Well his lantern light is his. He definitely didn’t trust the guardians so hence why he wants that lantern to be his and his morals are instilled into it. He doesn’t think it becomes the yellow lantern he just assumes it’s an unsanctioned lantern and that’s it. But I think season 2 the yellow will start leaking through maybe? Maggie is his guilt. Agreed Maggie shouldn’t have used the word “reparations” to a black man. Lol don’t look good! But I can see why she demands for money her dad got killed her whole life and the town was fucked because of them. If they never showed up they’d all be happy having the manhunter aka Zoe protecting them. Hence why the town hates Hal. Before him no one in the town got hurt or sick hence why the hospital was empty. And according to Zoe’s husband the town was thriving. So yeah of course they hate him I don’t blame them. But that being said Zoe did use them as target practice to lure Hal out for she could kill him. But John saw that and knew he had to take her out. Btw the guardians couldn’t control the manhunters that’s why they had them eradicated except for one. And as for John’s parents…I knew u weren’t gonna like that. I think it’s murky for sure. But I never saw them as oh I hate my son oh I wanna hurt him cause I love doing it…no. They were hell bent on making him the best green lantern ever. But they sacrificed their humanity and his happiness. Which is fucked but they didn’t do it for nefarious reasons. They thought he’d have the best future. Very much like parents of athletes and artists that push their kids to the extremes. Just this was even bigger. But hey definitely didn’t jell with you. Don’t blame ya! I think they could have done it a bit better. And hey valid points tho. Sinestro is probably a liar or maybe he isn’t. Noticed how when he tried to sway Hal and it didn’t work then he jumped to John lol the cop line from the writers is so on brand for this universe. I remember someone said Superman isn’t a cop he’s a firefighter. And it just means that he’ll save people no matter what. Cops follow rules and laws. John as a superhero will do what’s right cause morally it’s right. Space cops are rule followers and nothing inherently wrong with that but they’re bound by laws. And like Superman sometimes we gotta say the hell with “the law” and save those people despite borders and conflicts of other nations he saves lives end of story. But love Hal’s line don’t be afraid to be afraid.
