Reminds me of Detroit become human can AI have a soul thats the scary question. Batmans batcave is soo big we got to see this episode like he had samurai stuff in there and chemicals. And his house is on a mountain pretty much how deep does it go

Yup, it all goes back to “I think, therefore I am.” Once an entity is capable of independent thought (such as going against programming for the benefit of innocent lives) that entity ought to be considered a sentient being and have the rights that should come with that. Always fun seeing Batman stories ponder heavier, more philosophical issues like this!

I never really thought much about this episode when I first watched it but after watching it again later, this is really such a tremendous episode. I love how even though the duplicate Batman is a robot, he’s still Batman. Even though all the information he knows was programmed into him, it's still him. As shown in the episode, he was shown to risk his life to save Karl Rossum from the collapsing building. And more importantly, wasn’t willing to kill the real Batman because much like the real Batman, he wouldn’t allow himself to take a life. And when he thinks he has killed the real Batman, he sacrifices himself as he couldn’t live with himself, which I feel like Batman would actually do. Like I never fully understood this from my first time watching this years ago but this is really a great episode! You’re so close to some really incredible episodes, including the Robin 2-part episodes. And close to finishing up season 1!

One of my favorite episodes. The issue on what divides man and machine is one of my favorite topics in sci-fi. One of my all time favorite comics on the theme is "Pluto" by Naoki Urasawa and cannot reccomended it enough

'HA! I TOLDJA he was a robot!' -Killer Croc One of the overlooked gems. Great concept, great key change to Batman's theme to make it sound much more sinister for the Batbot, great voicework by Mr. Conroy arguing against himself about the evils of free will. Easily better than HARDAC's introduction episodes. And yes, Batman demonstrated in those episodes that he's okay with destroying robots.
