And so Darkseid makes his first move

Good reaction! In regards on who the Thanos looking guy is at the very end…….no one important. 👀

Loved this episode! such a mystery wonder if there be more. I like how clean Metropolis looks like both it and Gotham have their share of crime but Gotham is like New york and Chicago had a baby lol and if I had to pick I'd like to choose both but I'd go with Superman cause the world it opens up is so vast and ever changing and feels so hopeful

objectively i think the two are equal but ultimately I prefer superman personally. call me a dork but i have a preference for the colorful optimism of superman. he honestly became part of the foundation to my own personal values and beliefs ever since i first saw this cartoon as a kid in addition to him being my first comic book with "superman Forever #1"

I love Superman, but for me I’d choose Batman if I had to choose between the two. He’s just always been my favorite. The way he’s sacrificed so much, dedicating his like to making sure people don’t have to go through the same trauma he went through. Doing so to the point where he can stand among super powered beings and not look out of place. Also, the fact that Batman is basically a ninja Sherlock Holmes is just the cherry on top lol All that being said, I do love Superman for the reasons you said as well. He’s just a good guy brought up by good people to do the best he can with these incredible powers. It’s always just so refreshing to see someone with so much power be so innately good, and the other struggles that brings for him as a character. Both amazing characters that I just can’t get enough of, but yeah, for me, Batman is my favorite

Yeah this episode is probably one of my favorites of the first season. One scene I loved in this was that silhouette of Superman and all you can see is his eyes glowing red with heat vision. What I love is that even though Superman is a force of good and is just an all around great guy, he looked badass and kind of evil as he was slowly walking towards Mannheim. As for Darkseid at the end, all I will say is that much like people were telling you and Caleb to remember Thanos during your MCU reactions leading up to Infinity War and Endgame because he plays a very important role in them (which now you guys know since you’ve watched both), Darkseid is on that level of importance. You’ll find out about his character eventually and I can’t wait!

Detective Dan Turpin is modeled after the famous comic book writer/artist Jack Kirby. The hairstyle, the caterpillar eyebrows that's exactly how Jack Kirby looked. Kirby created a lot of famous comic book characters including Captain America. He also created Darkseid who you see at the end up the episode. As for Batman or Superman, I enjoy both characters but as I get older I like superman more and more. I just love the optimism of the character, and I like that his stories can be sci-fi one day and a mystery detective story the next.

I think this should've been the S1 finale, as the actual finale is very mediocre and this introduces us to police chief Maggie Sawyer, officer Dan Turpin, and most importantly Darkseid: 'He is known throughout the galaxy as the most terrifying and evil person there is. He's conquered hundreds of planets, and slaughtered billions of people. Stop it! Stop getting excited!' Superman contains numerous deliberate contrasts with the Batman series, knowing BTAS does things that it can't compete with so it does things differently, such as the immigration analogues. That said, Turpin reminds me of a nicer version of Bullock. I will always prefer BTAS, but they are two sides of the same coin, and STAS did much more in establishing a lot of the concepts used in Justice League.

This isn’t your all star superman reaction but I just watched ur reaction to that and yes he is supposed to live and eventually come out of the sun as Superman one million later down the line but how long after I don’t remember
