Welcome back! Great reaction. Get ready. this season is where things really start ramping up. BTW, people (including me) will recommend that you watch S2.E4&E5 together, but they originally aired separately, a week apart.

This is such a great episode. The character development and intimate moments are so well done. Narratively it seems like a bit of a break, sort of a recap, as if they're saying "here's where we are, here's what we know, let's take stock and figure out what to do next" sort of thing. Now, when Holden says, "Do you like space gladiator movies?" I think that's a reference to the movie Airplane. I think, I could be wrong. Also a small detail you might have missed Meg is that when Chrisjen said she "knew captain Yvgeny from the academy" Admiral Souther (the reasonable military guy at the UN meeting) says privately to Chrisjen that the captain "never went to the academy." Chrisjen was lying, but her bluff worked.

I feel like the older I get the more I connect with the people arguing for peace. Mars could be a paradise if they could spend just a little less money on fancy spaceships, and Earth could be... Well, I don't know. Maybe less flooded and broken?
