I like that Ra's as a character can just take Batman out of Gotham like some villians batman will go out of his way to leave gotham but I like seeing a story where Batman will go out of his way to travel, like robin was half way across the world and he left his fav city. Very diverse too and I like Talia's accent she is definately emotionally abused by her dad I feel other stories I've seen even when Ra;s is "dead" Tali has her own agenda at times

Well this was Batman's first encounter with Ra's Al Ghul, the demon's hand as they call him. Ya know this whole thing seemed more like an Indiana Jones thing to me, that's why I sometimes imagine it's HIM instead of Bats! lol Anyway I can't wait for you to reach the next two parter episode "Shadow of the Bat" and your reaction to the movie BATMAN SOUL OF THE DRAGON!!!😁👍🏿

Loved these episodes! This was more like a mini movie and you're right that this was very cinematic with the amazing art/visuals and epic music. I almost forgot about Ra's laughing after coming out of the Lazarus Pit. It was pretty funny. This was definitely an incredible pair of episodes. I don't think it's on the edit for Youtube but I'm actually interested to hear your thoughts on the next episode. I've said this before but we're so close to the end of season 1 and then you can finally watch Mask of the Phantasm, which I believe is one of the best Batman movies ever next to Under the Red Hood and The Dark Knight Returns. Also I'm interested to see your reaction to Soul of the Dragon. I've never actually watched it so I'm happy I get to watch it with you

Ra's is a very unique enemy, akin in many ways to a Bond villain usually requiring Batman to leave Gotham for some exotic locale. Batman Begins changed some things about him but really got to the core conceit of his character- devotion to an ideal above all else. Stopping evil by killing on a massive scale. Becoming your title instead of just a man by forfeiting your humanity- The Head of the Demon. More negatively, while Ra's is ancient enough to have experienced many peoples and cultures, his origins are Arabic... and you likely already know how most Arabic culture views women. He uses Talia as a bargaining chip to sway Batman, not as someone he loves. Even the resources of the League of Assassins must be tempting, imagining what Bruce could accomplish with an entire army of devoted followers... but then he realizes what he would have to give up for that, and whether or not he wants zealots like Ubu serving him, dying with his name on their lips. Talia does come into her own later in the comics, but... [SPOILER].

The demon's quest is actually a VERY faithful adaptation of the dennis O'Neil comic story of the same name.

The other difference being that Ra's wants a new world for humans while Ivy wants a new world for plants. But yes that would be a very entertaining story, maybe where they both start out tempering their goals a bit to fit with the other, trying to make a world where humans and plants can co-exist, but eventually fall out since they are both fanatics.
