I love how wholesome this film is and the actor for Superman/Clark was soo damn good and everything was great and I liked how they used models for som of the effects. And my dads from Jamacia he always tells me about what it was like to grow up there wanna plan a family trip one day watching superman makes me feel happy about my jamacian heritage

The creators of Superman were both Jewish immigrants, so there are biblical parallels, but they’re to Moses, not Jesus. That is also where the huge immigrant theme comes in, as Superman was supposed to embody the American immigrant experience.

Ah, that was a great reaction. It's been quite awhile since I've watched this movie, and I'm very glad I watched the full reaction with it playing along. So much content these days is afraid to be genuine and earnest, and watching this—which wears its heart on its sleeve so damn much—is so enjoyable and refreshing. It's also perfect for Superman since that is so much of who he is, so that part of his character really shines through. It isn't concerned with things like showing Superman learning his powers, or a macguffin to find, or Clark finding a purpose or discovering himself to finally become Superman. It's just a story about Superman doing Superman things and let's that do the talking. I always had an okay-to-good opinion of this movie growing up, but seeing it again now really launched it up my rankings.

Yeah, Christopher Reeve is easily the best Superman (though I also love Tim Daly from the animated series). Great movie of the 2nd best superhero ever (said the Batman stan lmao 😜). But seriously, loved this reaction and can’t wait for the next!

This film was groundbreaking at the time just like the first Star Wars was. The very first superhero film that was successful. Also if u plan to watch the sequels. U should watch the donner cut for Superman 2 as it’s way better. I don’t recommend superman 3 and 4 because people generally agree that they are terrible movies. The only good part of those movies is Christopher himself

I wish you could see my smile. I could say all the reasons I loves Supes (I’ve been a fan for most of my life, I get to call him Supes, OK?), but I’d just be repeating what you’ve already said. It warms my heart hearing the squeals of joy, the smiles, the swoons. Yeah, this is like chicken soup for the soul for me, getting to share the big red S and how astoundingly good Christopher Reeve was. The whole cast is fantastic, but man, he nailed it. He WAS Superman and arguably his performance launched the entire superhero movie genre. I mean, that line “I fight for truth, justice and the American way.” is ridiculous and he NAILED it. And yes, there are sequels. Three more with Reeve. And believe it or not, two more versions of this movie - an extended cut and a TV version that is LONGER. I think worth watching. Oh, and for my part? My favorite moment? “WAIT! Who are you?” “A friend.” *theme music* THAT, ladies and gents, is Superman. Then, now, always. Thanks again for sharing.

Since your such a fan of the Superman as an immigrant angle I recommend reading “Superman Smashes the Klan” it’s really well written and leans in to him being an immigrant more than any other Superman story I’ve seen

Great reaction!!!!! I just joined Patreon so I could see this. I seen it at the movies when I was a kid. When Lois died it was the first timed I cried at the movies. When Superman screamed everyone at the Movie started screaming, it sent chills through my body. Can’t wait for Superman 2 , it was my favorite one!!!!! You Rock as a reactor!!!!!!!

No Superman movie is equal to the 1st with the 1st Superman theme- by John Williams who also conducted all the Star Wars Music.

Also in special effects, "Man of Steel" is 1st in Special Effects-
