I think you probably read too much into the "disappearing Mei" thing... basically what you saw at the beginning of the episode was Prax's fragmented memory, or possibly a dream right before he woke up on the refugee ship. His memories were affected by PTSD, not to mention a head injury. So he remembered that Mei was in the dome with him, and then later she was gone, and then some pieces of the orbital mirrors literally fell on his head, injuring him. All of this was sort of jumbled in his head, and we saw his brain trying to piece things together. I think that's all that sequence was trying to convey. But it did it sort of mysteriously and allegorically, because this wouldn't be The Expanse if they did it any other way. Speaking of PTSD, and apropos of nothing, I just spent half an hour today trying to rip out this invasive vine stuff that is growing all over my garage, and weaving its way through trees and other plants, choking them off, and stealing all the sun from my tomato plants, and generally just being a bad citizen of my back yard's ecosystem... anyway, I was just fighting with that stuff this afternoon, only to see it growing on your mic arm. And yes, it's sort of thematic, given this episode's introduction to everyone's favorite botanist, but after this afternoon's fight with that vine, I am feeling just a little traumatized. LOL.

The woman's name that Amos looked up wasn't his mom. She was the one that sorta took care of him after his mother died. You should read the novella "The Churn", it's only 60 pages and tells u about "Amos" before he left Earth at 15. Everything about him trickles out throughout the series, but he's different in the books.
