Most reactors criticize Holden this season, so screw that commenter. Bobbie is a gunnery sergeant, which is why some people call her gunny. She prefers just Bobbie. Glad you started reading the books. Book 1 is only Miller and Holden's POV. Please don't compare any TE book with another, they're not alike.

The delay in seeing Bobbie's appearance in the meeting between Earth and Mars can be attributed to the fact it takes a loooong time to get from Ganymede (a moon of Jupiter) to Earth. They general don't discuss these times in the show, but it usually rakes weeks of travel between points in the solar system. Even months in some extreme cases.

A double dose of The Expanse, I love this. When Chrisjen was talking to Bobbie Chrisjen said that half of Earth is unemployed and live on "basic assistance." So half the population lives a pretty bleak existence with government provided crappy food, crappy housing, crappy clothing, but not much else. Another interesting thing is that when Bobbie mentions "a man without a vac suit" Errinwright (Chrisjen's boss) immediately changes his expression and has a freaked out look on his face. He looks shook.
