this is such a great episode, it is so silly and fun. while there are people that think superman is just dumb muscle this episode proves otherwise. Superman is just constantly outsmarting a other dimensional being vastly more powerful than him while getting his own mischievous kicks out of it

So yeah you met Mr Mxyzptlk and yes his name is hard to pronounce lol. He’s been a enemy to Clark for decades but often times he appears, while one of Clark’s most powerful opponents, he’s more of a annoyance but does cause chaos that Clark usually finds ways to just send him away. Fun fact but there’s a character from his dimension that you haven’t met yet but he has similar abilities to Mxyzptlk. Let’s say that he’s a fan of a certain character you know. Lol

oh and that orange cat is likely a reference to Supergirl's pet cat Streaky the Supercat (yes this is a thing in the comics)

Hey it's about time Meg! I wanted to see you watch this one cause that little Mixy guy is just a barrel of laughs always tormenting and obsessed with Superman like that when he should've been giving his redhot babe some attention🤣🤣🤣

Knowing what this episode was and who was in it, I knew this was going to be a fun episode! And one of the first things I was waiting for is to see you trying to pronounce the name of the episode title in your intro and I was laughing with the look on your face trying to figure out how to say it 😂 Despite the silliness, Mister Mxyzptlk is one of the most powerful characters in the DC universe. While he is considered a villain to Superman, for the most part, he really is more annoying and just messes with Superman rather than wanting to destroy him like other villains. But this was an episode I was waiting for you to react to and I'm glad we're finally here! And to answer your question, I think the cat is in reference to Supergirl's pet cat Streaky the Supercat, who I believe is actually an orange cat in the comics. Much like the white puppy you saw on Krypton in the first episode of season 1 was in reference to Superman's pet dog Krypto the Superdog. Oh and you mentioning at the end about waiting for cartoons and not knowing what was going to pop is kind of funny cause it's sort of how I feel when you upload new reactions since you don't really have a set schedule as to what shows or movies you plan to do on a certain day. But I do get excited each time I get a notification or happen to check/refresh patreon and a new reaction pops up, especially if it's a DC or Marvel one. It's kind of like a surprise in a way. Also I'm excited for whenever the next BTAS reaction is. As soon as you see the title for the episode, you'll know why and I think you'll probably be just as excited

The funniest episode of the series, if not the entire DCAU. Gilbert Gottfried was the perfect fit for the little 5th dimensional imp (and on that note if you haven't seen Return of Jafar I'd love seeing a reaction to the Aladdin trilogy; despite RoJ being of lower quality, King of Thieves is one of my favorite animated films). Mxyzptlk (as he demonstrated just say 'mix-yes-pit-lick' and take out the vowels) is one of many bizarre things to come out of Superman's older continuities, a trickster deity akin to Q of Star Trek who cannot be defeated by force and must be vanquished by guile. What Supes was dealing with here wasn't necessarily hallucinations but rather reality going back to normal once Mxy was banished back to his home dimension.

And his smartness doesn’t have to do with being an “alien.” He simply outtricked him. 🥰

Yeah I can remember him from the Krypto the Superdog cartoon, who's theme song still live's rent-free in my head to this day. Too damn catchy!

It’s always fun seeing someone react to his name for the first time lol. Mxy has always been one of my favorite Superman villains. Just such a fun character! Before seeing this episode when it premiered, I always pronounced his name like Mixibilik whenever he popped up in the comics, so getting a proper pronunciation from this episode was nice lol
