It’s weird thinking that the idea of an evil superman would’ve actually been a refreshing idea back then.

I love a good elseworlds story, especially when the concept was still fresh. Can’t wait for the rest of the season and the season finale especially.

Oh cool! Honestly didn't think that you'd be doing Supes again for a while, catching up on Batman and all that. You just couldn't stay away from Lois & Clark could you?😄 I'm not complaining though👍 such a good episode!

Naw

Not really. It's a concept that pretty much started in the mid 1980s, and that was ALL OVER the 1990s ''Edgelord Period'' of comics, that's sadly come back into fashion, within the last ten years or so.... *Here*, like pretty much *everything* 1992-2005 DCAU, it's just done right...🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I know evil Superman was done plenty of times before. Grant Morrison’s Animal Man comes to mind. But I’m talking more in terms of mainstream media.

Personally I feel very conflicted these day's about polticial messaging in show's and movie's. They seem to be more focused on that, rather than the entertainment itself, which then seems to result in poor ratings or cancellation. I won't go much further into that though, not an expert on these thing's and I don't want to end up offending anybody🤫 This episode was a perfect blend of the two though! Such great writing for a cartoon, I feel like we don't get the same quality anymore. Though maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place.

"I'm having trouble with your job performance!" That's such a funny line. I think Lois climbing the face of the monument is a reference to the famous old movie "North by Northwest" (1959) where the main characters are being chased up the face of Mount Rushmore by sinister agents. Also Lois is like, "You started a whole new system of authoritarian government after I died rather than telling me how you felt when you had the chance?" It seems that she is both angry at Superman's fascism and angry that Superman never made it clear how he felt about Lois. So that's kind of interesting.

I love how even tho Lois was shocked she didn't let it deter her and the monument of Lex and Supes was wild, you can really see Lex's god impulse come out here like he could easily become a dictator type if left unchecked or if he had more control of superman and seein Supermans face and hearing his voice so deadpanned until he saw Lois again

Yeah this is definitely one of the best episodes of the series. I also think this is the first time we've been introduced to an alternate dimension in this universe. And really I'd say this is the first time you've been introduced to DC's multiverse. Seeing alternate counterparts to characters we know from our main universe. I know some people don't really care much for the multiverse and having different alternate versions of characters but I do find it interesting. I believe there's even some DC animated movies that deal with the multiverse that I can't wait for you to react to eventually. I'm with you on the music in this episode as well. It was so epic and felt so grand. Almost like a movie. I also agree with you that Lois and even Jimmy are both important characters to Superman's life. They are the anchor to his humanity. Much like his parents Jonathan and Martha are. And I feel that alternate version of Superman shows us what would happen if he didn't have them in his life or if he had tragically lost them. Like how different would he be and would he become a tyrant. Kingdom Come explores that idea as well and especially the Injustice video games and the tie in comics. Would love to see you play those games eventually, even though they are fighting games, which idk how much of a fan you are of them. But the story itself is really interesting. Looking forward to you finishing up BTAS S2 soon and reacting to the Batman & Mr Freeze: Sub Zero movie before continuing onward with BTAS S3. I'm also excited for you finishing up STAS S2 as well. And for whatever DC animated movie you react to next. Hopefully New Frontier if you really want to get into the Justice League already. Or you can start reacting to the Green Lantern Animated Series. Either way, I'm hyped!

Yeah in this episode Lois Lane has really proved that she's quite a survivor! I suppose this was the first alternate world adventure in the whole DCAU. Superman definitely has always had feelings for Lois which was finally discovered in this episode.

I didn’t even notice that luthor was in this episode until I watched it this time. I was always so pissed off and focused on the true villain in any of these stories. I still don’t even see how many never catch a glimpse of it even. It looks the same in every live action, animated, or whatever version too. It blinds me even though it’s invisible. Usually it’s at home watching the news for twelve hours a day. I called it mom and dad until I realized that all of the obedience and lives we spend on our knees that we convince ourselves to be us suffering, is just our way to get away with selling out everyone else who chose not to fall in line. It’s so disgusting. They don’t feel any guilt because they invest everything into aggressively maintaining and creating the status quo and mediocrity to ensure they won’t be jealous of anyone if we all clip each others wings. If all we had to do to take the first step in human history in the direction that doesn’t hurt everyone else was to not have our phones on us for a day, it couldn’t be done. Just pretend to actually do something for real what we’d have to do; probably more difficult that ignoring a phone. Think of how much worse humanity would be if there were a Superman. We’d be even lazier knowing he’s there to help. It’s probably best if he took a break. Helping usually doesn’t help people. We’d know that if we stopped helping people just so we could brag about it later too. F-

'The villain wins' is a concept that usually results in a fascinating episode regardless of what show it is, and Superman is no exception. It also brings to my mind an episode of Darkwing Duck where the main character is so traumatized by his adopted daughter's sudden disappearance from the timeline that he snaps and becomes a dictator over the city. It's a powerful way of illustrating the feelings one character has for another that they can't speak out loud, that the character's sudden departure would affect them so drastically. On the other side it's interesting to see Jimmy step up into an action role.

Definitely one of the best episodes of the series! Always love when they do alternate reality and what if scenarios. Always results in fun, and often thoughtful episodes!

Awesome episode and very reminiscent of the injustice games where superman also loses lois and then turns into something of a dictator. Cant wait for u to play those games in the future. Kevin Conroy is back as bats too in it
