SEMANTICS ! 😂

Narutoanime16

Yoda was sadly right there is Darkness in Anakin ugh im so sad lol its even worse cause I feel Obi Wan could have advicated more for Anakin to be part of the Jedi council maybe but he didn't really put up any kind of stand for him and aside from Anakin disobeying the Jedi rules the Emperor manipulated him at such a vulnerable point , Order 66 and killing all the kids is the darkest saddest shit ever

FearTheTREMOR

So yeah. Really sad ass movie. 😞 To clear up some stuff, unfortunately no, the Force doesn't influence people in that regard where Palpatine controls Anakin. Anakin still made the choice to spare his own feelings to become a monster and trying to save Padme. But so many things contributed to Anakins fall. The Jedi failed him, Obi Wan failed him, Palpatine groomed him from the start, and he wasn't given the care he needed after being separated from his mother. The Dark side uses more of the emotional side like anger and passions. The extreme though, uncontrolled passion, is how you fall to the darkness. Darth Plagueis was in fact, Palpatines master. So the power to keep people alive does indeed exist within the Dark Side. But Palpatine himself said that cheating death in that way is something only one has achieved (Plagueis) so he himself didn't know how to do it, but he did offer that they can discover the secret. Of course, he probably counted on getting Padme out of the picture eventually, but yes, that power is a thing. Anakin allowed himself to fall to his emotions, and grew into a lust for power, and he falls so far into even delusion. Thinking that Padme was with Obi Wan, trying to kill him. The Dark Side is volatile, and an uncontrolled version of it basically just morphs people into monsters. But there are controlled versions of the Sith, such as Count Dooku. Which brings me to Sith eyes. Palpatine had such control of thr Dark Side, he used the Force to actively hide himself from the Jedi, and when he used Sith Lightning on Mace, the Eyes came out. The Dark Side consumed him, resulting in those blood red eyes, much like with Anakin, they come and go in moments. Oh yeah, that's a mercy kill with Anakin on the lava. But Obi Wan didn't want that blood on his hands. Vader is very much a different person. Part of it could be dissociation, but really, it's something he suppressed, not repressed. Think about what Anakin did here. He couldn't possibly live with himself, doing what he did. He murdered children, led to his wife's death, and knowingly sold his soul to the devil. So the easier thing to do is bury any reminders of who you were. It's easier to be this emotionless monster who murders who his master demands, rather than living as the man who became a monster. So, Anakin is "gone". Vader is all that's left. And he lived so long like that, he basically did forget what it was like to be a person. He truly became a monster. Okay so I think the last thing to quickly cover (by the way none of these are spoilers, they are not explained in the main shows or movies, but they are part of the extended canon) Lightsaber color. So they don't behave like mood rings, where they change based on where you are on the Force Spectrum 😅 There is a ritual performed by Sith to turn their Kyber Crystal's red. They flood the crystal with Dark Side energy, their anger, hatred, their desire for power and control, it "bleeds" the crystal, making it that blood red. Basically, they corrupt it. So, the Clone Wars takes place before Episode 3, after Episode 2. And it is absolutely essential, upon rewatching this movie lol. It answers and clears up so much. And you can see the slow journey of the build up of the Jedi participating in a War, and how that changes everyone. The beautiful thing about Vader though, is that literally no one could've brought Anakin back out. Anakin couldn't let himself feel human again because of all he did. But the amazing thing is, the undying love of Luke, showed Anakin he has people who believe in him, which helped The Chosen One fulfill his destiny. Okay long comments over 😅 but I'm so excited for the Clone Wars guys! You're going to love it! 🙌❤️

Matthew Cronin

It’s theorized that Padmé was dying because Palpatine was using the force to suck her life force out and put it into Anakin to keep him alive. That’s why the droids couldn’t explain what was happening

Unstablebeast

Anakin immediately falling to the dark side after killing windu, is very fitting with the jedi having a very christian view of "One bad thing sets you down the path forever." To anakin, that one act set him on the sith path forever, and at that moment vader was born, and exists inside the body alongside anakin. its not mind control, its an entirely separate entity born from anakins dark side, fighting for his body

KrakenKing

Hey Meg, if you are going to start Clone Wars after this, I do suggest that you check out the first four episodes of the Tales of the Jedi miniseries. It elaborates a bit more into some of Dooku’s past and his time with the order, and I think it’ll help you to appreciate his character more before they explore him as a Sith in Clone Wars.

John Cooley

Caleb’s screen presence and your dynamic as a couple is really great!

Unstablebeast

Fun fact, anakin is 100% more powerful than obiwan at this point, but his conflict with the dark side held him back, along with obiwans defensive style along with his goading being a good counter

Chess Red Eagle

I think Lorenzo explained things really well. Anakin chose to turn out the light in himself as he believed the new power would help him save Padme. The tragedy is that this action is what doomed Padme. If he hadn't fallen she would have been fine. And even though he chose to embrace the darkness, once he did, the darkness took him. It greatly hid and dominated what light was left in him as that is it's nature. He truly stopped being Anakin and became Vader. I'm curious if you considered maybe having a channel in your discord specifically to ask questions about what you need more info on in regards to what you've seen either now or in the future. I know a lot us would love to chat with you about it. Lastly, obviously Clone Wars and Rebels should be watched but I would recommend watching the Kenobi series as it takes place halfway between 3 and 4 and I think would be quite pertinent to your journey as your viewing of the prequels is so fresh but that's just an opinion. I look forward to your continued journey!

LankyRambo

Enjoyed experiencing that with you! Anakin's journey is really such a tragedy and fuck Palpatine! Loved your thoughts and takes throughout these movies. The flaws and cracks in the Jedi systems and beliefs really fractured here. There are so many places you can go from here - and I'm sure you'll be bombarded with "Watch this next!" So, of course, I'll throw my hat in with some options you should be able to watch in any order without spoiling other shows. MOVIES/TV! The Clone Wars Animated Series - Set between Episodes 2 and 3 of the prequels. This really builds on the Anakin/Obi-Wan characters and their brotherhood and introduces lots of new characters that will be important in animated and live action later on down the line. Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show - Won't spoil anything here, but a great show to watch after this movie. Tales of the Jedi episodes 2, 3, 4 - These episodes are STRONG stories leading up to the prequel trilogy (Each episode is more or less standalone, and episodes 1, 5 and 6 are best watched after the Clone Wars when you'll be introduced to some new characters) GAMES! Knights of the Old Republic - a beloved old BioWare RPG. Set Thousands of years before the Movies - in the "Old Republic" Era. AMAZING game. Jedi Fallen Order - Modern SW game, fun to play and explore - Great Story set in the early days of the new Empire. BOOKS! Oh man... So many good books. There is a whole Timeline that was abandoned when Disney took over the canon that had some real gems (and some stinkers). I grew up with the "Legacy" Timeline. Original Thrawn Trilogy - Not Canon anymore, but were really the Go-To post movie star wars stories for years. Lots of plots and characters from this have been re-used in the modern Disney Canon With the DIsney Canon they separate the stories into "Eras" aka Historical Periods. Old Republic, High Republic, Fall of the Jedi, Reign of the Empire, etc. I haven't read much in the High Republic era, so can't recommend much there! Whoops. Sorry for the novel! You just got me super excited for Star Wars! <3

Matthew Cronin

If you want to learn about Sith Lords, there are some video games you should play. Knights of the Old Republic. There’s also a few books about different Sith Lords like Darth Bane and Darth Plagueis (Palpatine’s máster)

Unstablebeast

Im so so so excited for you to watch the clone wars after this, its so good and adds so much to anakin, obiwan and yoda Also its both so heartwarming but heartbreaking that both anakin and padme, the first thing they both ask when they wake up is if the other one is alright, and padmes last line being theres still good in anakin, and even with that obiwan doesnt believe it

EldrinJak

Great reaction! I know some people think Palpatine siphoned Padme’s life away, but personally I speculate something completely different. I think Padme was going to lose the babies and used the force to give her life to them. If the babies have the force in them from the beginning, then it’s in Padme’s blood too. After everything that happened, her focus would be desperately on protecting/saving her unborn children, which could allow her to use the force. Makes a lot more sense than a brand new mother just giving up and dying. Also would be poetically beautiful if Anakin’s visions and nightmares were from him being so obsessed with protecting his family from dying, and that the force was trying to show him that Padme will be the one to do it.

Matthew Periolat

“Obi-Wan once thought as you do. You don’t know the power of the Dark Side.” Anakin made a mistake, the biggest of his life and his rage over it fueled him for a long time, but in the end, he hated himself the most and couldn’t let go and forgive himself. Then his son did and healed him. Wow, when you really think about it… wow. Amazed you were not raging at that sick smile by Palpatine as Vader is thinking he killed Padmé. That’s an evil “I fucking win.” smile. Yeah, I love this movie. It’s really good, easily number three behind Star Wars and Empire. I’m glad you also want to give the sequels another try with context. I know there is a deep dislike which I just don’t get. Stop hating them for what they are not and embrace and enjoy what they are, that’s all I personally ask. Looking forward to Clone Wars. That is going to be such a treat as so many questions asked will get answered. I signed up long before Star Wars, you’re crazy if you think I’m done now. As to my favorite character? I can’t pick one. Anakin/Vader, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Shmi, Padmé, Leia, Luke… I think all of them because we all are each one of the characters as we move through our lives and our experiences change us. Thank you for sharing. And remember, The Force will be with you… always.

Cation

"There's good in him" And there was... He was the chosen one to return the balance. Loved this movie since it came out in cinema, bawled my eyes out. The best star wars movies in my opinion.

Aaron Crawford

Every rewatch you hope it's going to end differently and it never gets old how tragic it all is. John Williams the master, a lot of the emotional weight of this movie is provided by the soundtrack. Clone Wars is a slow burn but adds so much context and clears up things in the movies and explores so many new stories and characters, you will love it. The payoff in the end is worth it. Bad Batch and Rebels are continuations of that and are quintessential viewing for the time period between ROTS and ANH. Hard to name a favourite character, so maybe the music. It does the heavy lifting across all 6 films and there's a reason everyone gets so hype when it kicks in at the start of every movie, it represents what you know is about to take place.

Brodie Vickers

Haven't started it yet, though I already know it's going to be utterly heartbreaking for you haha. Looking forward to the Clone Wars show further down the line, good excuse for me to finally watch it in full, only ever seen a few episodes and the final season. Before you start that though, can I request that you do the original 2-D miniseries from 2003 1st? Just because people usually seem to gloss over that one, and I'm positive you'll love it. It's not very long, just 2 Volumes on streaming, both roughly an hour long. I have mentioned it previously, and this'll be the last time, stop before it becomes annoying😄It was also the 1st appearance of General Grevious too, total killing machine.. and then we got this guy lol. Thinking about it, I don't think I've properly watched this one in forever either. The 1st Star Wars movie I went to see at the cinema, then rented it out again a year later and that's been it. 4:00 what a pair of troublemakers, you got me!😀

Brodie Vickers

So Count Dooku's initials are CD, and Christopher Lee was also well known for portraying Count Dracula for a number of years. Coincedence? I THINK NOT!

WerewolfF14

for the record I still think the the sequels are worth another watch now that you've seen the original 6 movies. I understand that a lot of people dislike them but a lot of people also really like them. They're controversial movies that split the fandom and I say the only way to figure out what you truly think of them is to watch them yourself and form your own opinions. If you dislike them so be it but if you do that's cool as well. Likewise they will be relevant to other star wars content so its probably best to at least know what happened in them.

Brodie Vickers

Aayla Secura's death (blue jedi lady) just reminded me of some Clone dialogue from the Battlefront 2 campaign. "It's been said that the 501st got the best of the war. We also got the worst. On Felucia, the Seps dug their metal heels into the muck of that alien hellhole and dared the Republic to come in after them. So we did, only to be met with the month after month of flesh-eating diseases, shrieking nocturnal predators, and other sights that haunt me to this day. Cut off and for all we knew abandoned by our superiors, our only hope was Aayla Secura, our Jedi commander. Without her iron will, none of us would have come out of that mess with our sanity, or our lives. When her death came, I hope it was quick. She earned that much. When the 501st was finally rotated out of Felucia, Aayla Secura made a point of seeing us off personally, calling us the bravest soldiers she had ever seen. It's a good thing we were wearing helmets, because none of us could bear to look her in the eye."😢

Georg Eide

Loved the reaction. Never understood the Hayden hate eighter, he did a fantastic job portraying the person Lucas wanted Anakin to be and people thought he was at fault for making Anakin too emotional and imature. i cant recommend the novelization of this movie enough or the audibook version. it gives so much insight into the mind and feelings of Anakin and includes deleted scenes from the movie in written form. Just one example is why he reacted so strongly when he was refused a master title. The author consulted with Lucas alot

Brodie Vickers

A young Han Solo was also supposed to make a brief cameo in this movie too. Being raised on Kashyyyk by Chewbacca, helping Yoda track down Grevious. Though it got cut, mainly because Lucas felt he was trying too hard to tie the events of the prequels into the original trilogy.

Neburcs

It was interesting getting to watch your reaction to these 6 movies. In the original triology you often questioned Yoda and wondered what could be so bad about the dark side. I think this movie perfectly showcases how horrible the sway of the dark side is. All you need is one taste of it and you're kind of stuck. Swayed by the power and consumed completely by the dark side. It's super hard to get out of it once you're in there. As for the aggressive fighting style, it is completely valid so long as you're doing it in defence. Yoda state that you can never attack anyone, only use your power to defend. So Obi-Wan killing Maul and Grievous is completely valid. Compared to Mace wanting to kill unarmed Palpatine or Anakin executing unarmed Dooku. That is the main difference, killing an attacker vs executing an unarmed person who's kinda surrendered already. However I get why Mace wanted to kill Palpatine because he's right, Palpatine did have control of the courts.

KrakenKing

Don’t watch the last two episodes until after Clone Wars though, since those have spoilers

Brodie Vickers

Most relatable character is definetly Anakin. Though my favourite characters are Han & Chewie, always❤️

Martin Li

'The dark is generous and it is patient and it always wins – but in the heart of its strength lies its weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back. Love is more than a candle. Love can ignite the stars.' -Revenge of the Sith, Matthew Stover Novelization It's okay to cry. Took a lot to set the dominoes up but watching them fall is what made the prequel trilogy worth it. Anakin's attachments were his weakness here, being unable to let go of people as the Order wished, but ultimately prove to be what saves him and destroys the Emperor. As you said, he's hardly the only one responsible for Palpatine taking absolute power. Every bit of greed and cowardice from the Republic Senate and Trade Federation helped too, even if they didn't know what they were creating.

Tax2er

Most important is the high ground.

Tax2er

How was she supposed to lose the babies when they say she is in perfectly good health.

Charley

I know people try to rationalize why Anakin turned the way he did but deep down like he said he wanted more and gave in to that. I think it started with wanting to save Padme and then his jealousy and hate got in the way of that, he saw the power he could have and changed his mind. (just my take anyways) I love that you can look at it in many different ways.

Jason Dreibeblis

I have so enjoyed watching these with you. I said it during your reaction of return of the Jedi that before your reaction I never understood the weight of what Lucas was trying to do. However with the prequels, while I first watched them as a kid, they’ve stuck with me as I’ve grown up and learned, and as I’ve become an adult, I have recognized the same parallels in our world that you have, and what George Lucas was trying to portray with the prequels. And it feels so good and validating that the both of you see all of it too, because so many people in my life do not, like they see the parallels, but only at a superficial level and aren’t able to take away any lessons from it. It’s been so frustrating watching my older brother and my parents who have such a rigid black and white mentality and sense of morality stare these movies in the face and make the same mistakes that the Jedi, the politicians, and the republic citizens made that allowed Palpatine to take power and establish a dictatorship. 😔

Brodie Vickers

True, true. I like your profile pic, is that Mister Negative?

Calum Grace

don't know why folks would ever complain about Caleb being around for these reactions, dude's a complete chiller.

Calum Grace

In any case, if y'all do want to continue with the side-stuff, I highly recommend Rogue One, and also the series Andor that connects to it, Andor might genuinely be one of the best live action Star Wars things since the original trilogy.

Torben

Now u gotta watch The Obi Wan Series, its the perfect time. it shows what happens after ep 3

Sensui the Shinman

when I 1st saw this in theaters years ago, I almost was hoping it wouldn't happen but obviously I knew better. & while the duel itself was great, the story behind it all as we all know is all too tragic. if things had played out differently Anakin would not fall to the Darkside idk

EldrinJak

I figure she’s basically already given most of her life force to, for lack of a better word, heal the babies by the time the droid says there’s nothing medically wrong with her, and in this case he would be right. Nothing medically. The force is in all things, but Padme would have given up the necessary life force to sustain herself. That could explain why she no longer has the energy to keep living. Only enough to deliver her twins.

Tony Nav

quick history lesson on the sith. they started with a fallen jedi. over time became a group of fallen jedi. then they fought and the fallen jedi left to start their own order. they ended up finding a planet of an alien species known as the Sith species. a species with a strong bond with the dark side of the force. the fallen jedi conquered the species of sith and created the sith order. after a while the sith order became an empire. as they grew, the jedi found them and decided to genocide all sith. yes the jedi initiated a genocide and wiped out most of the sith, both the species and dark side force users. over time the sith made a new empire and they returned causing another age of back and forth wars. during these old times there were thousands if not more of sith and jedi. eventually there came a sith named Bane. he and his apprentice killed all the other sith and began the rule of two. one master and one apprentice. this led to sidious, palpatine. ALSO P.S.!!!! YES, they do essentially black out when people use the dark side. i think even a lot of fans tend to forget the effects of the force on its user. they feel MUCH more deeply and intensely so when anakin is mad for example he "sees red" there is nothing but hatred and sheer will to impose himself. The dark side of the force is an ultimate drug and the addiction of it is part of how it blinds the user to its negative aspects. so when people ask "how did he turn so quickly???" well the answer is because its such a deep rooted and malicious drug that it completely removes the mind and functions only on pure instinct and rage. all emotions are AMPLIFIED by a hundred times. there is no chance to think before you act unless you train yourself to, which is part of the jedi teachings.

Cam

First time watching this in earnest in some time. I was struck when Padme told Obi-Wan "I know there's still good in him." I thought, there is!, and Luke will find it. Luke is always compared to Anakin and Leia to Padme. But I don't think enough is said for how much Luke takes after his mother.

Sebastian Lagunes

As someone who’s pretty new to Star Wars myself in recent times. I gotta recommend The Clone Wars if you want a lot of answers on the Jedi and the Politics during the Clone Wars and just character’s motivations and moments before Revenge of the Sith plus it will show characters that will be shown later in other Star Wars shows or movies. Clone Wars shows how much of a hero Anakin Skywalker was and was remembered even during the time of the Empire

Hans Lueders

don't understand the chop enemies in half thing? code doesn't say anything about killing an ARMED opponent. It's what anakin did with dooku that is against the code

Hans Lueders

I mean honestly you should watch thte 5 min "Obi Wan Has PTSD" fan edit that splices some scenes from the prequels with Alec Guiness' work in A New Hope

Frederik Lacharite

"The dark side, much like a strong, addictive narcotic, affected not only the mind of the user but the appearance as well. As one immersed oneself deeper within the dark side of the Force, its malevolent power took a toll on the body." Anakin is not being mind controlled or compelled. Manipulated, yes, maybe, but once you give in to the darkside, it warps who you are. This doesn't mean Anakin isn't responsible for his actions, of course, the same way you wouldn't completely absolve a drug addict from comiting terrible things... but it does explain the whole 'he feels like a completely different person' thing. Anakin felt things on a deep, deep level. He was always cared too deeply for a Jedi, felt pain other Jedi never were exposed to and didn't know how to let go... He tried his best to keep the darkside away. Sadly the moment he gives in, for him it was like a floodgate, he becomes instantly immersed in to a degree that twists his mind. In the lore there are other Jedi who fall to the darkside, but were brought back because they never had to deal with the sort of trauma he had to deal with nor were they groomed to fall as Anakin was by Palpatine. Not sure if I'm explaining it well, but what I'm trying to say is that it affected him much more then it would have another. The same way an addiction is sometimes harder for some to overcome than it is for others. Keep in mind that all the Jedi you see in the movies (beside Anakin and Luke) were taken from such a young age that they usually don't even remember their own families. Anakin was deemed too old and he was barely 9 years old. He had a lot of baggage and the Jedi, themselves complete stranger to what he had gone through as a child, are literally incapable of relating to any of it.

Frederik Lacharite

As much as that game is awesome and I love that dialog, it is no longer canon. Inhabitor chips was a concept Lucas introduce with Clone Wars. Now, the clones didn't know this was coming.

Logaboga

Don’t worry Meg your Star Wars journey has just begun.

Logaboga

This is her first time ever watching Star Wars… she doesn’t know the Jedi code man.

Residentfan 1

Something that’s really sad that not enough people notice is that in Episode 5, when Luke and R2 land on Dagobah to find Yoda, Luke tells R2 to stay with the ship and he refuses and follows. The reason for this is that in Episode 3, when Anakin lands on Mustafar(the volcanic planet), he tells R2 to stay with the ship…..and Anakin never comes back.

Residentfan 1

2:12:51 there are legitimately people who look at this scene and get angry about him walking like Frankenstein’s Monster. Every time I hear it I’m like, “I’d love to see you get robotic legs and immediately walk perfectly fine with no adjustment period.” The “Noooooo” still makes me cringe though.

Residentfan 1

The reason Leia remembered her mom is because she’s remembering her adoptive mom. The really stupid thing is that I figured this out as a child and I still see adults say that Leia’s eyes were open during her birth and Luke’s weren’t. Star Wars fans actually believe this as if she could remember that. They’re like “no no you don’t get it. George was subtly showing it to us with the baby’s eyes” and I’m like “no it’s because you can’t direct babies!” Star Wars fans are both the most insightful and dumbest people I’ve ever seen and I say this as one of them. To clarify, I’m not talking about you guys. You’re a new fan so I can’t expect you to catch everything the first time and Caleb hasn’t seen it in a long time but the fact that there’s people who grew up on these movies, still rewatch them and still haven’t figured out the Leia thing is baffling to me. Also Darth Plagueis was Palpatine’s master and killed him in his sleep. He taught Palpatine everything he knew, including how to manipulate the midiclorians to create life AKA how to impregnate Anakin’s mother without having sex with her. So technically Palpatine is Anakin’s father and he purposely impregnated a slave on a dangerous planet to ensure that the child grows up angry and traumatized. He had been grooming him since before he was even born. There’s actually a line in the original script where Palpatine reveals this to Anakin and it would’ve played a part in him turning on the Jedi(because family) but it was removed because Lucas didn’t want to do the “I am your father” twist again but it’s still heavily implied. Some people say that Plagueis was the one who impregnated Anakin’s mom but the fact that Palpatine repeats the “he taught his apprentice everything he knew” line twice is clearly Lucas trying to convey that it was Palpatine. Plagueis had no reason to do it. He was confident in his power and had no need for another apprentice whereas Palpatine was planning on killing Plagueis and knew he’d need an apprentice at some point down the line.

Michael

I think she had memories possibly because she is force sensitive. Still a flimsy retcon but makes more sense the “eyes open” nonsense you alluded to. Also, I think later when she is being held by Bail’s….um, wife she has her eyes open and when Obi-Wan hands Luke to Beru he has his eyes closed. I remember hearing that was more of a metaphor about how Luke grew up more innocent to things like the Empirical Reign and Leia was in on the fight at a young age. So it was more about symbolism.

Michael

Lorenzo broke it down wonderfully but I also want to second the idea that it was some kind of compulsion. It lets Anakin off the hook. I know that’s not completely what you two were getting at but red flags were given to both Padme and us for foreshadowing. He kills the children “sand people” (Tuskan Raiders) so we know it is something is capable of doing. He also gives Padme is political ideology and she kind of was okay with that. Yes, I think Anakin being torn away from his mother and trying to form that bond and find that missing affection didn’t help. Most Jedi are taken from their parents at birth. Still kind of a crazy practice but the parents are seemingly consenting about it. Obviously he was groomed by a master class manipulator. Also, people kind of cringe at the romantic interactions with Padme & Anakin because it IS cringe. Two young people put in places of power and importance and responsibility so they might see that and draws them together even if they ignore issues or impediments.

Residentfan 1

Luke is force sensitive and so should also have memories of Padme but doesn’t. Leia is remembering Bail’s wife. She said her mother died when she was very young. In my eyes that means that Bail’s wife died when she was a child but not a baby, making it so she can have vague memories of her mom and not have it be ridiculous for her to have said memories.

Cornelio Santos

I think you guys are thinking too much about Anakin doing what he did. He didn't black out when he was doing all that. Anakin was fully aware of what he was doing, and embraced the dark side of the force because Darth Sidious told him it was the only way to save his wife. In reality, the premonitions were a trick and she was not going to die. Anakin only made it come true because he overreacted and went to someone who was a bad person and was only feeding him lies. You can even see Anakin crying in a few instances as he is doing bad things around the galaxy because he knows it's wrong but it's too late for him.

Will Frangules

Good stuff Meg, but like people have said, Anakin knowingly and willingly did all these things. He was too far gone and as soon as he was given the name of Vader Anakin as we know him essentially dies. His downfall is so tragic because he becomes part of a self fulfilling prophecy that Palpatine (as you mentioned) groomed and manipulated for years.

Mage Reacts

Yep, it's devastating, and even more impactful this way! 😭

SocialOmelette

Such a great reaction! Can't wait for more!! Would love to see you guys rewatch the original trilogy again after you watch more clone wars/obi wan series, rogue one, etc... It definitely changes how you experience the movies!

SocialOmelette

Idk if anyone has mentioned this already, but when Palps mentions that Plageus knew how to create life via the influencing of the midichlorians, there's a theory that Anakin was born via this experimentation. Also, I think the Dark Side heightens all of your underlying passions and evil. The sith act in desperation of the preservation of the self. The force does intervene a little bit because just as a Jedi's strength flows from the force, a sith's does as well. Qui Gon buttedheads with the Council, because he focused on the will of the living force and the dynamic nature of it's will. I think he recognized that the force's will was not static, and the Jedi clung to the dogma that they developed. ALSOx3 Anakin does eventually bring balance to the force by killing the emperor, but the Jedi falsely believed that "Balance" meant no darkside. But really he brought it back to square one by destroying the Jedi order

Gavzilla .

meg waddup I’m new here, I started watching ur rdr2 play through awhile ago, and when I seen you had a react channel and was just gettin into sw, it got my hype, not only that you played the same games I do, but movies as well?, I enjoy watching ur reactions to different shows and movies, but rots has been one I’ve been waiting for, and I couldn’t help myself but download patreon and join you on here as well, this movie been my fav every since I was a luh guy, and it shows us what really happens to vader and how he got to where he was in the original trilogy, how the villain is actual the victim😔(from a certain point of view), and also caleb love the chop brotha✊

Danny Steele

Here is a tiny spoiler for The Clone Wars series, Obi-Wan did “meet” someone, her name is Dutchess Satine Kryze.

I'm late to this... I want to say before I get started with my thoughts that... Your reactions to the 5 movies starting from episode 4 until this point was Beautiful... I've seen other reactions to those movies, and yours by far was the best 👌🏾💯 Now... My thoughts... Anakin Skywalker has been the victim the WHOLE time, and the Jedis has failed him.. Let me ask you something? How is it that obi wan kenobi is allow to mentor when he DIDN'T even know at the time that the force can allow you to see the future or sense someone is in trouble like with Anakin kept having those terrible dreams about his mother? And if he DID know about it, and he was just telling him to ignore it, because "it's the Jedi way" then I Absolutely agree with Anakin when he says in episode two that it's Obi Wan's fault that his mother is dead! Because all he kept saying was "it's just a dream" "forget it" Even though he KNEW he was the chosen one who has been having these crazy dreams for the past month or so before he could finally see her before she died... Then there was Yoda... He pissed me off the most... He's supposed to be in tuned the most with what's going on with someone on the inside... Anakin comes to him for help with his dreams of the future, and all he can say is "let go..." "Be at peace..." "This is life" Tf? His guidance could have been WAY better than that... At this point he's 700 years old you mean to tell me he's forgotten what it was like to be with someone you love, and not want to lose them? Yoda sensed Anakin's pain when his mother died, and he sensed his pain when Padme fell out the plane... Yoda is in charge of teaching children... So I'm pretty sure Yoda could've took some steps to help Anakin a little better or gave Obi Wan some tips on how to advise him since he literally could feel how he felt... On top of that they have the NERVE to ask him to be a double agent for them, and to spy on the emperor, because they know they can use his emotions against him, because he's shown that his feelings is his guide, and that's the reason they had Obi Wan Kenobi talk to Anakin about doing it for them, so he'd agree even though they don't trust him, because he still works with his feelings... Crazy thing is... In most of this movie say what you will but... The emperor didn't lie to Anakin... Yes some truths were twisted, but they were twisted on both sides... Anakin picked the right side in the end by turning over the emperor to Mase, but for some odd reason instead of arresting him like he originally attended Mase wanted to kill him instead, which forced Anakin's hand to help accidentally off him with the help of the emperor. I think Obi Wan failed him, but I know he tried his best, because I've seen the brotherhood there... I heard the compliments from one another... So, I know how much they loved each other. Anakin would always say how grateful he was to Obi Wan or how much of a brother he's been, and that he's the closest thing to a father... Obi Wan to Anakin "How wise he is, how strong he is" "my brother" At the same time... Obi Wan was part of the Jedi council... The Jedi council was judging a book by a cover that hasn't been made since Anakin was a little boy, and the Emperor let Anakin have a seat at the council, so he could finally see it first hand, and finally know why he's not a Jedi Knight when he's been waiting 20 years, but held back because of their fear when just because he has feelings yet he's supposed to bring balance, because he's the chosen one... Anakin was in a damned if you do situation, and damned if you don't... Well that's my take on it anyway... I believe they All failed him. He didn't fail them. The Sith lied about him killing his wife... But did he lie about him actually knowing how to save her? That's one thing we'll never know. It's funny how the wife and son kept pleading there's still good in him even though he choked her out of misguided anger, and he cut his son's hand off... It's like those characters you try so hard to be, and you dominate the role to the point that fool everyone else even the people who think they know you best, but not the intimate people you actually given your heart to and the ones who can really tell by your voice on the inside... Then again maybe I'm crazy 😂 Now my favorite characters... R2D2... And Darth Vader. No order lol
