Titano is such an unjustly obscure and genuinely awesome Superman villain and I wish he was used more. B I G Monke.

I dont have superman on dvd, but i do have batman and it has the intro in every episode. So i’d assume this does too

We don’t get much of General Sam Lane in this show (I think this might actually be his only appearance) so it’s hard to really get a read on what his relationship with Lois is like in this version, but typically it’s not a very positive one. Do you remember General Ross from the Incredible Hulk? General Lane is usually portrayed as being DC’s version of him. On a more fun note, Lois’ monkey toy Beppo is named after Beppo the Super-Monkey, one of the Superpets alongside Krypto the Superdog, Streaky the Supercat and Comet the Super-Horse. The next few episodes of Superman are all very exciting and I eagerly await your reactions

So Titano is a character in the classic Superman comics. He has a similar origin story where he’s a chimp who gets sent to space and cosmic rays gave him powers and grow huge. One which is a kryptonite rays that cause damage to Clark. While considered to be in Clark’s rogues gallery, he’s similar to King Kong in that he’s fighting out of self defense and often manipulated to attack. This episode once again gives me hope Meg will one day watch giant monsters films like Godzilla & King Kong. While some may believe Kajiu movies like Godzilla to be “campy,” they are great and a lot of Godzilla movies from Japan give the character a lot of personality depending on the version and some have good human drama. The current Hollywood Godzilla/Kong Universe called The Monsterverse is a good jumping off point to start. :)

Yeah Meg this was a cute episode starting with that flashback scene of Lois Lane's childhood with that pet monkey Titano and also seeing her military father Sam Lane and younger sister Lucy. No wonder she's so tough and courageous! lol Anyway of course Superman wasn't gonna hurt Titano, just stall him until they came with the sleeping gas and of course Lois helped too.

I think this is the first time that you got to meet Lois' younger sister Lucy and her father Sam Lane. Though the relationship with Lois and Sam is usually not good as in the comics, he actually wanted sons. So he kind of resented both his daughters and treated them more like soldiers. It probably explains why Lois has such a tough and feisty personality since she was raised by her strict military dad. But this was a nice wholesome episode and us learning a bit about Lois. It's also been a little bit since we got a DC reaction on here so I'm glad we're back. The next two STAS episodes are really good ones and then after that is the crossover episode and I can't wait! Hopefully you can finish BTAS season 2 before you get to the crossover though. You’re so close to finishing season 2 for both BTAS and STAS and getting even closer to being able to react to the other shows as well! Also I'm not sure what the next DC animated movie you're going to be reacting to next but I hope it's the Justice League New Frontier movie I recommended since I know you want to react to Justice League stuff already. If not then I have two other animated movies to recommend though they're non-Justice League movies but they are ones that you've talked about wanting to watch before and luckily they're still on Max, unlike New Frontier and some other DC movies where you have to watch them on other services since they got removed from Max. Oh and I’m excited for when you react to the Green Lantern Animated Series. I think you may appreciate it more now that you’re getting into Star Wars since the lore for the Lanterns are kind of similar to Star Wars

Reminded me of Planet of the Apes so much and ugh humanity sucks treat all the animals with love and respect! Love seeing a bit of Lois's past too and Lois and her sister and dad are in Smalville as well. Even closer to Justice League stuff can't wait for you to see the movies and the show

I myself am currently watching every Toho monster movie in release order and I’m loving it so far

Brodie Vickers

We're getting closer to that team up!👍

I don't remember this one very well. Interestingly all of the DC animated shows have an episode focusing on gorillas. Good idea tying it to Lois' youth, developing her character further.

John G Robinson

i like that this is one of several episodes that homage the silver age superman comics

John G Robinson

i think she would also like ultraman cosmos since the whole point of that series is just as much about protecting and preserving giant monsters as it is about protecting people from there unintended rampages

Casey

Yeah, I do remember it as being one of the sadder episodes, especially when they show his ill-fated space mission, but I also remember enjoying it all the same! Probably didn’t hurt that I also really like King Kong lol

HI I just paid 5 dollars just so I can more of your reactions Meg. I love how you react to DC films, shows and even games. I'm a big DC fan myself and I plan to make a 3D animated DC franchise.
