So I liked this episode and it’s always great to see Brainiac. Always a threat to the DC world. Also it’s cool they add more depth to Mercy. She’s underrated in the Superman lore & pop up in comics & other things. She’s always respects & cares for Lex. Even implied that she has feelings for him but Lex never notices and always see their relationship as professional since she’s his bodyguard or assistant (depending on the adaptation) like her very minor cameo in Batman v Superman where she died in the courthouse explosion to frame Clark & Lex casually saying bye to her knowing that she was gonna die. Yikes Lex….

Another great episode Meg. Glad you picked up on a lot of the manipulation Lex has over Mercy; you definitely did not miss the mark on these characterizations. It hints at an interesting parallel to another of your favorite paired characters in the DC universe. As for this particular episode, while it isn’t immediately apparent, this helps set up a lot of the characterization of the expanding DCAU, so be sure to remember that. Speaking of, you are very close to the DCAU expansion in a very major way. Can’t wait to see your thoughts on this writing team’s take on certain icons of the DC universe as they converge given how I think you share a lot of the same feelings towards the Snyderverse depictions that a lot of us 90s kids who grew up with these stories also felt. Just wait though, you’ve barely scratched the surface and the best is yet to come!

Another reason to hate Brainiac is that he apparently he invented the first deepfake video. I was sort of laughing when the fake video of lex popped up. This episode came out in 1997 or 1998, and now that type of tech is real. Which is kind of scary.

Oh shoot! You are right that's messed up man

Bruce Wayne

"ZADDY!....sorry.." LMFAO

Great episode. It's more subtle here but clearly Mercy's being manipulated just as much as Harley Quinn. Also some parallels to Dick Grayson's adoption by Bruce Wayne. An interesting shock to the system for Lex having to live as a captive of Brainiac. A good example of that kind of traumatic event changing a billionaire for the better would be Green Arrow's origin story, but I don't think anything could change Lex. He just considers himself too superior to everyone else.

It's telling how she enjoyed most of BvS but still didn't like the Jesse Eisenberg Luthor. Likely the weakest character in the film.

Yup, love the depth they gave Mercy here! And anytime Braniac shows up, you know it’s going to be great!

I can't wait for World's Finest! Please watch them back to back, that 's really the way they're meant to be seen.

Mage Reacts

Omg, didn't even connect Dick and Bruce

Naturekitty5309

I also hope you watch worlds finest back to back and I want to request Caleb in this reaction if he hasn't seen it.

Mage Reacts

Awww, I'll let him know. Is it ok he hasn't seen the other STAS episodes?

Naturekitty5309

Yes. A great stand alone movie. He knows enough about the characters to enjoy it.
