Unholy

Rightfully so universe, dont let it end

Isaac

Watching now, while it's safe

Isaac

Farewell, Frieren Fridays

Daiga54

would really like to see your opinion of Dan Da Dan just binged the first season recently and genuinely curious what you guys would think of it

My Toasty Toast

I had my tear ducts surgically removed so it wouldn’t be embarrassing when we meet them again

Jasmine Tea Enjoyer

What is one supposed to look forward to now that this is over

cosmotron

lmao I'll just repost my comment. happy to enjoy this Frieren Friday with y'all. don't be sad it's over, be happy the journey is really just beginning <3 I had never heard of it before I watched the show last year, and I'm so glad I did. It's also one of my favorites now, and I can't wait for what the rest of the series has in store. also, it doesn't qualify for the replacement show here, but I am going to start campaigning for Fruits Basket (2019) to get on here sometime. So many things you loved in this show - exploration of themes, emotion, relationships, great female characters, having tragic elements but ultimately being hopeful- are all things that Fruits Basket brings to the table. <3

Pankeke

What an incredible show. I don't often write comments, but I'm glad you loved frieren. I really enjoyed your discussions of each episode. I can't wait for season 2 :)

sand_fl

the universe is wise and also perfect timing since i just finished making dinner

sand_fl

i'll be wearing my frieren t-shirt every friday like a mourner 😂

Wallas

Last frieren friday, I'm very sad :c... I'll suggest the movies again before jumping straight to another anime, I think you need this time..now lets play and cry

Aris

(re-upload) Tearful goodbyes may not be Himmel's style but they sure are mine

HENRY!!! another thing im gonna have to get framed!! this is stunning, thank you for taking the time to do this

Killikat
>>160223475

Yes Fruits Basket is amazing! It tackles a lot of heavy themes but the way all the characters develop and learn to grow is written so well. Start for the romance, stay for the drama and intricate character work

ashton

one of the most beautiful shows ever made, I'm happy to have followed this journey with you guys and I can't wait for the second season also, I'm very curious about the Animes that will be in the poll

Sebastian

it was only a mere 28 weeks journey but it was a highlight each time. hopefully with some luck we only have to wait 2x (or 3x) times that for it to return!

Jay

Milena and Lola I know your sad Frieren ended so I’ll bless you with a little more Frieren :D Here are 12 videos that are 1 minute long of adorable chibi Frieren. They are short comedic videos of magic spells Frieren and Fern discovered. They were posted by the official channel Toho animations a while back, but since they weren’t translated I found links where someone translated them. I got the first 9 video links from Reddit because they are better translated there, tho I couldn’t find the other missing 3. As for the YouTube version I have all 12 video links at the very bottom. For the Reddit version All the videos do have volume, if they don’t make sure to go full screen and click on the speaker button on the bottom right ( btw my personal favorites were number 3, 5, 10 and 12 ) Anyways Here are the videos I hope you enjoy more Frieren. Jacob

What a joy this story has been so far. It's actually difficult to hold inside so much bittersweet happiness and love for all these characters. There are a handful of other fantasy shows that I think were as well written (or close to it), but nothing that feels quite like this one does, I don't know how to explain it well.

Jacob

In 500 years, Frieren will wake up one day to find the Continental Magic Association has been renamed the Mystic Society of No Frierens Allowed

sand_fl

what do you mean 28, in youtube says you're 25 and that's what it matters 😂 i'm turning 30 in a few months, maybe i'll just say i'm 29 in one of my socials and leave it like that for years so i can never really be 30

Isaac
>>160223868

I was hoping you would find the time! Knocked it out of the park again :)

B11zzard1991

This only clicked for me now after watching credits but i think Lernen is this girl’s from Wierbel party grandpa. I remember her saying that her grandpa is the first class mage and that she will introduce Wierbel to him during first exam when they thought they failed.

Juniper

was it decided how they were going to decide the next reaction series?

Kor of the Son

Another amazing series over :( Hoping to see Delicious in Dungeon as a replacement. Kaguya-Sama would also be amazing but I think it's technically too long for this slot.

Kanna_7

Best react i ever seen of this show love you girl ❤️❤️

Kael

Farewell, Frieren Fridays however I have to start my campaign for the next anime. I think after 3 years of being on the polls it's finally time for Steins;Gate. Every time Steins Gate entered the poll a series of unfortunate events happened, pun intended, first Mob Psycho beat it by 10 votes or so I remember, then in the next poll HxH was recommended and swept everything, then Frieren did the same :( I've read some complains of the show here about it being a bit sexist, too otaku for them or about the childish behavior of some characters but I think they're way over-exaggerated. The source of most of these complaints comes from a side character who indeed has "weird" comments but the show doesn't endorse him and he actually ends up being harmless. Seriously, there's no way LM won't end up loving the main duo and their chemistry. It also has a lot of potential for discussions. It's the anime that has been in second place for 12 years in a row on MyAnimeList (IMDb for anime) only behind Fullmetal Alchemist for a reason. On any ranking site or list whether it's anime-only or not, it always ends up in the top positions. I hope this time S;G wins.

James Long

I think it was only after Episode 1 of Frieren that it quickly became my favorite. On top of it being great, I think it was the perfect anime for me. I love that it starts after they defeat the big villain. I would have been fine if this show had no action at all. Having good action, on top of everything else great about it, is just a bonus.

My Toasty Toast

Just wanna say I would gladly, for free, edit a reaction of the first few episodes again if timing and scheduling is an issue

My Toasty Toast

I wanna point out how Serie didn’t want to talk to Ubel despite passing her. Ubel killed a first class mage three years ago, one of Serie’s human apprentices

Vitor

Wow, there is just so much to say about this episode and this show in general. I loved your reactions and discussions. As always, i am super impressed with how good you two are in understanding and noticing details about shows. It took me a lot of rewatchs to notice that the shot of Himmel in the last scene had already appeared in EP 01, but Lola noticed immediately lol. However, my favorite scene of this ep is the conversation with Lernen. He says to Frieren that he "doesn't want Serie to be alone in the Future". That is the exact same thing Himmel told to Frieren in EP 07 (even the context is basically the same). This show does a lot of storytelling through parallelisms. In this case, it felt like they made a deliberate mirror between Lernen's relationship with Serie and Himmel's relationship with Frieren. This method is so effective that i don't even feel angry at Lernen for attacking Frieren there, because the show connected in my brain the love Himmel has for Frieren to the love Lernen has for Serie. The types of love are probably very different, but it was enough for me to empathize with Lernen desperation to leave his mark in history. Himmel had the opportunity to save world and make statues all over. Lernen does not have that chance, so he is trying whatever he can.

Robert H.

I wonder if they have been paying close enough attention to be able to answer the following question: Who is Ehre's grandfather? My tip: Episode 1x20 and 1x28 together give the answer :D

Emily Tinney

Your reactions were the most amazing excuse to rewatch this show again, thank you ❤️ I see a lot of great suggestions for next shows and I personally think you would both absolutely love Your Lie in April!

Jay
>>160237040

I agree I want them to watch your lie In April after Frieren. Unfortunately it’s an anime that came out in 2014, I’m not sure many people know about it. I hope it wins if it makes the poll one day.

James Long
>>160229812

I think the English dub makes that character far more palatable. Personally, I think they should react to the English dub if they do react to Steins;Gate. It really plays up the humor more on the show.

accordingtowiki

This was a journey, I joined because I didn't want to wait for weeks for all the reactions on YouTube and it so was worth it. You guys are amazing and I didn't think I would need or like reactions but what I truly love is your discussions and how much time you take to discuss each episode and the genuine emotions. I am not big into anime, every now and then I watch one but they have to be amazing and hook me in. This one hooked me from the first few seconds in episode 1 and it was because of the feelings it conveyed, the emotions. This was my favorite piece of media from the last few years and I didn't even bother googling similar shows after I was done with Frieren, because I know there aren't any. There are probably many, many amazing ones out there but none that will make me feel like Frieren. Frieren, is like a my bed, cozy, familiar and I sleep great in other places too, when on vacation or when I am somewhere else, but my own bed is just another vibe, thats how I feel with Frieren. Anyways, really really really love your reactions and discussions and so eager for Season 2. Much Love.

Jason Parker

Happy Frieren Friday!!! It was only a mere 28 Fridays but everyone has been a treasure. Thank you for watching this! I'm very much looking forward to season 2 and whatever yall watch next. I know there are strict rules on what kind of shows you watch but keep Fruits Basket and The Apothecary Diaries in the back of your minds. They're both beautiful shows that I think you would enjoy on the same level as Freiren

Jason Calloway

I've had a tissue box in my living room ever since I moved in and never really needed to use them. Went through two boxes while watching Frieren and Arcane. Those shows really put me through it.

Caradoc Elmet

You're correct, the grammar is not good lol Why is everyone surprised when Lerner attacks Frieren? Serie practically wound him up and aimed him at Frieren like a child's toy in the previous episode. I'm worried she will use the little psychopath to finish the job. I wish that girl had died. Wirbel was correct, Uwel's death would make the world better... and I NEVER say that... unless I'm talking about MHA's Bakugo (he ruined that show for me) lol No more Frieren for a while. I don't like the idea of you watching the first few episodes again so soon. I think the first series should settle in to your souls for a good amount of time first. That's just my input. I'm easy really. I'll watch the videos if you post them but I think waiting at least until we have a firm date for season 2 dropping would make it more meaningful. Think how much you will miss the characters by then, then you get the lift from the season 2 release date and then you rewatch with that warmth in your heart. I'd love that myself. I'm worried about your next choice now. I watch your Haikyuu reactions but I'm not really into the show. Frieren's the only thing you've been watching that I truly love. What if they vote for something awful that everyone in the world loves except me, like Dan da Dan, what will I do? I'm getting Frieren withdrawal symptoms already. Maybe watching those first few episodes again isn't a terrible idea ;) LOL

Caradoc Elmet

This idea of talking to the dead... This is how I'm seeing it right now: On Frieren's first journey, with Himmel the Hero, it's like Himmel said all his parts of a conversation (like when he gave her the ring OMG Swoon!). On this second journey, with Fern and Stark, Frieren is finally hearing him and responding. I think the journey is the conversation she's having with past friends and loved ones. I think Frieren perhaps sees Fern and Stark as little mini Frieren and Himmel also. Or maybe she's projecting onto their relationship to understand her own. I'm not sure but I think there's something there.

Kael
>>160229812

I didn't watch the dub but I heard it is good so I don't mind if they choose the dub like FMAB

Kael
>>160228601

Kaguya-sama is such a wonderful show and the best romcom anime ever made imo. I would love a reaction after Monster and it is actually not so long (41 episodes) compared to the ones that usually win the long anime poll like HxH or Haikyuu

Tsunemori Kiriko

Even though I wouldn’t say I love Frieren as much as most people here do (not to say I dislike it, but it’s clear my feelings for the show pale in comparison), thanks to your reaction videos, I rewatched it with much more patience and appreciation. Watching your discussions made me notice so many details I missed during my first watch, and I truly appreciate that. While Frieren still might not make it onto my personal list of favorite shows, I always love your reactions. The way you connect with the story on an emotional level while still offering insightful analysis is something I deeply admire. With all that being said, I can't help but again campaign for my current favorite anime to you, although I know very few people here have heard of it: Bang Dream It's MyGO! And the second part of this amazing girls band story, Bang Dream Ave Mujica, just released its 1st episode on January the 2nd. I'm well aware that it can't win any polls here, but still, I have to say that it is the perfect time to get into MyGO right now. MyGO and Ave Mujica together makes a complete, self-contained, standalone story that requires no prior knowledge of the Bang Dream franchise. They have almost no direct connection to earlier Bang Dream works. So new audiences have absolutely no need to feel burdened by the previous Bang Dream series. You don't need to watch them to enjoy MyGO (but please remember, you DO need to watch MyGO first to watch Ave Mujica!). MyGO only has 13 episodes so it won't take you much time to finish the 1st part of this amazing girls band story. Don't be intimidated by the 3D animation because it doesn't matter. The brilliance of MyGO lies in its exceptional script and deeply nuanced character development, which elevate it far beyond a typical band-themed story. And please don't go into it with the pre-perception that it would be a boring, slice-of-life story because I ensure you it's not. You can see MyGO as a thriller, a suspense story. (Aren't you curious about how a girls band story without any supernatural or crime elements can become a suspense story?) Almost every episode after ep3 ends with a cliffhanger leaving you anticipating what's next. If the storywriting is not that good, MyGO definitely couldn't have achieved such popularity among Japanese and Chinese anime fans. I even dare to say that MyGO is to Chinese anime fans what Arcane is to Western fans. I've seen tons of people writing essays of 10k+ words in each episode's comment section to analyze the main characters' relationships, their mentalities, etc. I truly admire this level of passion. And even though MyGO and Ave Mujica have darker themes than shows that you usually love, I'm sure you will still enjoy the main characters' emotions, relationships, inner struggles...And I have no doubt that in the end you will love the core message MyGO conveys. For anyone interested, you can watch MyGO here: https://www.crunchyroll.com/series/G0XHWM1NV/bang-dream-its-mygo Hopefully one day I can campaign for MyGO and Ave Mujica here with you (or better, enjoy LM's reactions to MyGO and Ave Mujica here).

Ninaly

Ep 1 reaction next week? :') Frieren immediately became one of my favourite shows ever - thank you for giving such a perfect show an equally perfect reaction series, and letting us grow our love for it even more through your experience and discussions.

Lau
>>160223475

I'll repost mine LOL: REASONS TO WATCH AND REACT TO FRUITS BASKET: The series is a masterclass in exploring emotions. It beautifully balances heartwarming moments with deeply emotional and cathartic scenes. The show heavily focuses on the idea of forming meaningful bonds outside of one’s biological family, which is central to the series’ emotional appeal (similar to frieren and violet evergarden in that aspect). The show transcends genres, blending slice-of-life, fantasy, romance, and drama, which makes it appealing to a wide audience. AND ITS A FINISHED ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!

Lau

honestly, im reluctant to watch this last episode.... I don't want it to end. I didnt watch frieren when it aired, but I knew I would love it, I just did not know it would steal my heart. With only 28 episodes, this show has become one of my favourites of all time, it has all the elements I adore and love, and I just know that with more seasons coming out, it very much can place itself in my top 3 of all time (it already has tbh). I can't wait to see more of these fantastic characters and watch you girls react to it with me (:

JB

Not only the #1 rated show in MAL, 2nd place is a distant 2nd. Well deserved.

Benjamin Harris

One of my favorite quotes from Frieren is “people won’t know how you feel unless you tell them” and because of that I just wanted to say this channel means so much to me! I found your videos during a very sad time in my life and it gave me something to look forward to, and I have received so much joy from watching your reactions. So thank you both so much for everything and I hope you keep doing this for a long time! P.S please watch A Place Further than the Universe. It’s the one show you might love almost as much as Frieren

RG MG

BOCCHI THE ROCK! 🤘

Ken Drummer

I’ll miss Frieren Friday. 😭. I loved your reactions to this show. This show actually is life changing it makes me appreciate the people in my life even more.

Daniela

I would like to recommend Gundam witch from mercury for one of these short anime polls, its got themes of war, love, innocence, etc. I know for sure the girls would love suletta

Grumples

I know myself and others would enjoy seeing you both react to a rewatch of episodes 1-4!

Lau
>>160297840

I absolutely love G-Witch!!! I loved the character writing and it also looked sooo pretty. I miss Suletta and Miorineeee

JadonTheEternal

not really relevant to the episode but it's always so funny how much I can hear Killua in Serie, I wasn't looking at the screen when she started talking and for a second I thought I was watching HxH somehow

sakurabraus

ngl I wasn't for frieren at first i thought it was hype just because it was new and it wasn't that good, would not be the first time it happened *cough*demon slayer*cough*oshi no ko*cough*. But i was wrong lol, people were 100% right when they said it was made for you. This show is just so much love it is too beautiful. Personnaly, i would have still prefered to have wait until s2 to start it but i loved frikyuu friday so no regret. + Watching frieren now was the best decision for you, you needed that show. So i'm glad! Now you didn't talk at all about the next short anime, maybe you will do a tier list next week before starting immediately a new anime? I would love that ! I'm still recommanding pluto, it's one of the show i want you to react the most. It's one of the best anime out there i know you'll love the messages of the show. Watching pluto after a show like frieren will not disappoint! Psycho pass would be good too i think, it is so different from what you watch so far, it will be a welcoming change. it's perfect for reaction, it'll make good reviews since it tackles society issues.

Kaycee
>>160351361

I think Pluto would be cool since it’s only 8 episodes and they can kind of see how monster story telling will be. Even though the stories are nothing alike I feel more like they can see the writing style if that makes sense.

James Long
>>160237091

I think they would like it if they watched the English dub, it really emphasizes the humor of the show.

Robert H.
>>160351361

If it is going to be Psycho Pass, someone will have to post a very dark joke for me under the reaction of episode 4 if the reaction isn't posted this month. I'm currently planning to skip February and come back to Invincible Season 3. :D

My Toasty Toast

Okay wait how did I not know this existed. YOASOBI (who did the first Frieren intro) has their full music video of that intro on YouTube, and it has original animation from the same animators focusing on Frieren and Himmel that was not from the show and yes I cried so now everyone here has to as well https://youtu.be/OIBODIPC_8Y?si=ytn__LHkaZYDVHeJ Sorry but this makes any Frieren AMV or TikTok pale by comparison

KILL MY HEART KILLUAA

congrats on finishing frieren !! dont worry season 2 is confirmed ! please put steins gate on the poll, FOR KILLUA 😝

sunshine
>>160237091

they'd absolutely love it, not a single doubt in my mind, there's only one small bit they'll get peeved with that has to do with a certain character's quirk, but it's a molecule compared to all the things they'll love. I mean, mayuri dude, mayuri is one of the most my sunshine and my child character, I can already see how much they'll adore her

sunshine

a beautiful end to a beautiful show, made all the more enjoyable with my fav reaction channel <3 hopefully the wait until the second season won't be that long. also, steins;gate for the polls!!

christina

fellow crying type i am. i camt tpye omg helloo ladies i cried with you😭 tearful goodbyes are indeed our farewell to this show. your reaction made me cry more than the first time i watched 😭 frieren story is something valuable that will live on through us from day to day. frieren was beautiful, emotional, and to the point, without it being over dramatic. its the end and frieren has learned to appreciate life's fleeting beautiful moments, BUT WE WILL APPRECIATE FRIEREN ETERNALLY ✨️✨️✨️

christina

the universe will coalesce again for the 2nd season. but now i want to recommend again my fav show : 🩵Steins:gate🩵 for the next poll. the stars then will collide ✨️

will y

Apothecary diaries would be an excellent replacement for Frieren Fridays! It is a very people centric show as well.

Luis

I loved your reaction to this show! I haven't commented in a while but I was struck by what Lola said when she mentioned that she appreciates that she watched Frieren now and believes that if she'd seen it earlier she may not have liked it as much or would have liked it differently. The mangaka does something very sneaky in that she makes all of the characters from whom we see their perspective about age 15-40. Even Frieren and Serie who are obviously much older she's made the decision to give them a halted emotional maturity around that age. And when we meet older characters like Denken or an older Heiter we encounter them filtered through the perspective of a younger character. The mangaka in Frieren taps into a sorrow that life has passed/is passing them by and the quest is ultimately to reclaim that lost life. I think if I were to watch Frieren in my 60s or older I would not like it because the emotion is often very saccharine and the concept of losing people close to me wouldn't have the same resonance because I likely would have already lost so many people close to me and that cord would not be as taut. But in that 15-40 age range people are often experiencing their major loss to a death and that's why the first episode begins with a death--to trigger that quest condition. Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite shows and for the charming conversation after each episode. I'll put forward Chihayafuru for hopefully future consideration when looking for a longer show.

Michael Ballinger

Loved y’all’s reactions! Hope to see Frieren Fridays again!

sleepymiffi

haven’t yet finished watching ur reaction to frieten (prolonging the inevitable) but i already will say that it was an absolute joy rewatching it with u, a little therapy session every week, not many can feel emotions deeply like you do, thank you and i can’t wait for all the future anime you will react to❤️

Logan Rodriguez

I’m still not over Frieren. It’s been a year since I first watched it. How can an anime be so beautiful?!

Adrian Schmit

I'm watching the series for the third time. It still makes me emotional and I'm still noticing new things. Re-watching episode 1 after finishing the series is pretty devastating!
