Thanks and no worries about the delay. Will there be a poll for another short show to replace The Bear?

JATLA

🐐

TeaDrinker3000

I was so hyped for AoT review dropping that I genuinely forgot The Wire existed 😭😭😭 Man y'all have had a WEEK with regards to editing

Jack SV
>>121764005

Nah, they are watching another horror show.. they mentioned on the last episode of the bear that they are watching the fall of the house of usher. So no poll this time :(

Mark M

Thanks for uploading, no worries with the delay!

TeaDrinker3000
>>121764005

Damn, does that mean they ain't watching the new season of Invincible? 🤔 I haven't heard of that other show

Jay

No worries that’s what watching multiple sad shows does.

Jack SV

With that ending, AoT wasn’t worth pushing all the other shows but I’m glad we are also finally reaching season 5 of the wire. The most divisive season by some fans..but I can’t wait to hear your thoughts of the next couple of episodes.

Damien Fenton
>>121764005

Thanks Jack SV. I haven't watched their video on the last episode of The Bear so I didn't know that. I started The Fall of the House of Usher. Seems very good. Perfect for their reactions.

@TeaDrinker it’s from Mike Flanagan. The dude who make The haunting of the hill house and Midnight Mass.

love that you guys are so comfortable with your friendship that you didn’t need anything in writing when it came to ownership of the channel there’s no L or M, only LM xD Lola “We’d forgotten Jay’s name that episode but apparently a lot of people felt very passionate about him” 💀 appreciate the sensitivity to the Bubs discussion, the actor who visited him (Steve Earle) is a famously outspoken socialist musician and friends with David Simon, super anti-capital punishment

Nina

I'd argue season 2 is most divisive amongst fans but with the benefit of hindsight and rewatches I think most people realized season 2 deserved more praise than it initially got (me included), the consensus on season 5 has not changed much over time IIRC, now it would probably be the lowest rated season. That's not to say it's not good tv, IMO it just does not reach the incredibly high bar the previous seasons set.

Nina

Now that's a legendary review length, thanks for giving it the time it deserves.

Matheus
>>121764473

glad the ending was perfect to most people and they loved it and it was worth it to them, now we wait for the review 🙏

Bryce
>>121764005

@TeaDrinker3000 They replied to someone's comment on another video that they are going to wait till after Invincible's mid season break to react to it, so they have it all in one go.

HenryM

Understandable, the wire finale and aot finale are two giants to edit. We appreciate your hard work!

Matheus

Now i can watch this nice and long review while waiting for another long review of AOT. It's a good day

just specifically the ones that wanted us to apologize to jay for rolling our eyes at him always being a lazy cop because he did this good thing

Isaac
>>121764005

The timing works out since they could slot it after Violet

Jay Craig

I think between this and the aot review later if I spend like 5 hours in a row watching I might have a problem…

TeaDrinker3000

Buddy, I'm past the point of pretending I amen't a chronically online fan girl for the channel 😂 But can you really blame us? The best episode of The Wire with the last episode of Attack On Titan?! Christmas came early 🥲

HenryM
>>121767413

I'm gonna have to plan a whole ass day to watch these lol

sand_fl

i was hoping for the fall of the house of usher tomorrow 😪 but well, you had a crazy week with aot so it makes sense you pushed it for next week. i'm finally catching up with violet and i'm going to start catching up with hxh and the wire. i miss the comment section aspect of patreon now that i'm behind with everything you react 💀

Jack SV
>>121764473

@Nina yeah I was one of those people who used to hate on season 2 too but after rewatching this show, it grew on me and I came to appreciate that season even more.

I feel you, I'm also trying to catch up with hxh and watched Violet just because of them (tried to catch up with Fullmetal at the time, but was too busy :( ) It's not like I participate a lot in comment section, but I need to watch a least something along with them, otherwise I miss the channel

Nina

Just wanted to comment on you saying you're "friends first and foremost, not business partners". That's why I like your content so much, it all feels very natural, not like you're putting on a show or trying desperately to entertain us by exaggerating your reactions or with over the top editing. Keep it up.

David

The scene in the montage at the end where Carver talks to a group of really young kids at the same spot where our kids hung out, and then glances at the wall and sees “Fayette Mafia Crew 4 evah” with all their names also on the wall… That moment is a complete gut punch; it really illustrates the futility and cyclic nature of things - a new batch of youngsters who are innocently playing (like our kids were in episode 1) but who will most likely be broken by the system of poverty, neglect and disadvantage that they all face 😐

TeaDrinker3000

The mental image of you two in a business meeting with your accountant in AC/DC and Guns N' Roses t-shirts, Starbucks drinks in hand saying: "We're just girls 🙂"

cheech

Season 5 tho….well….you’ll see 🤨

francisco cervantes

Thank you for this and every season! There's a great video called "The Wire Cast Reunion April 27, 2020" where it's all the kids from season 4 and their parents in a Zoom call. The video was done at the beginning of the pandemic and it's just really cool to see all the kids (including several small characters) all now grown up and reflecting on the show and their experiences.

medvezhonok

i like the ending montage of s4 so much... even though wire is definitely about the city and its social structures (and sometimes can be even seen as preachy with social democratic pov), at the moments like this it transcends. reminding us that no matter how messed up and unfair life can be, there are personal lessons to be learned for everybody. ultimately it only matters if you are strong enough to adapt & survive - we see randy realizing he has to toughen up in a group home, prezbo seeing that he can't save dukie and that he has to follow principal advice so the job won't break him, bunny deciding to save one child good instead of meaningless fight against the whole system, etc. if there is a victory and salvation, it can only be personal and the song fits so good

FatPaddySlim

Thank you for this review. It was great spending this time with you.

An emotional train wreck. I understand Lola saying there are no more tears. After those 2, it's done

Karabo
>>121764473

Season 5 I'm mixed but the last 3 episodes or so were The Wire to the core , love it. Perfect ending

Karabo

Jay Landsman just reminds me of the Pricncipal in the school. He's experienced so much of the system that it made him numb. But he showed his heart in letting Bubbs go

Thomas Fahey

Now that you understand the tragedy of American life, you're ready to see the farce. If you don't see 'Succession' you will never forgive yourselves.
