I agree, and I like the implication that the Dark world isn't a final destination for most, or at least many. The difference in tone is too great for the Waylay to be an in-between /exclusively/ for a place so bleak. At least that's the way I see it

Okay now very keenly interested in the Waylay. Obviously a bit different from The Dark World, and obviously an afterlife of some fashion. I'm thinking there are tiers to the 'afterlives', The Dark World is where John went because he is the King in Yellow, an entity of a dark-natured, odd world. Arthur is human, but perhaps also can be seen as an avatar. Idk, many theories running around now
