SO YOU DID POST IT ON THE WRONG TIER HAHAHAHAHHAHHA

It's ok, it happens 🤣 Just think of it as free advertisement/sneak peak for the lower tiers. Incentive!

It sounds like staying in the village would have Arthur sleeping outside in the center by the fire pit. He has boy bridgade training, as mentioned in earlier seasons, so I expect he knows how to make a shelter. If I were in this situation, I’d rather make a small fire and shelter in the woods vs being so exposed in the village clearing. With the density of foliage and trees a small fire would be much less visible than one in the center of “town” plus a small lean to or other structure would help keep in the warmth and provide some additionally camouflage/protection from anything moving through the woods vs being out in the open. Yorick is currently in the sack and will likely stay there if they stay in the village but he might make it out of the sack and serve as a watch to wake Arthur in case of approaching danger

Also, I don’t think the village has *lower* risk of monster encounter - I think monster is as likely there as in the woods but woods would provide more protection

hoon

it probably won't happen but the idea of arthur being caught in a goldilocks and the 3 bears situation if he stays in the village is sooo funny to me

If the villagers get that pissy about the wood, Arthur can always offer to replace it. A ready to go fire is hard to say no to.

Has Arthur not learned he can’t just go around barging in on other people’s turf all the time? Hasn’t he had enough of walking about pretending he has any right to be taking and using things that very clearly don’t belong to him? He’s going to be using up their firewood and lying on their territory. Very openly. He JUST got thoroughly punished for trespassing and stealing from the hag! Besides, there’s a chance he stays away from the homestead enough to actually come back and spy on whomever actually stays here. He could get the drop for once, or overhear something important.

light4ghosts

it's so hard to say no to the fire and the shelter but the risk of another cult hotel incident or another incident where he gets into way more trouble than he needs is high when he *just* got told off (and killed) because he barged into someone's home

This isn’t the city anymore, people won’t be as accepting. And Back in those times people didn’t tend to travel long distances so they would be weary of Arthur, not to mention could he even speak the same type of language as them??

When night falls, Yorrick is going to try to make Arthur do something with the hand, remember? It’s probably better to not be around people then, on the chance there are people here.

JOHN: “There are three wood buildings with walls, and a fourth without. A large fire pit sits in the center of these buildings. They all look inwardly toward it. *A massive tree sits off to the left, and it seems as though the buildings were… positioned around it, almost.*” I do not trust this tree. Dark Young of Shub hunt in dense forests by remaining motionless until prey gets close to them and they can resemble trees. All the way back in season one in episode two, Arthur and John at the Miskatonic Library read that book about Shub that mentions a Dark Young inhabiting England, and something called the “Goatswood.” Dark Young are known to hide in forests and remain motionless until prey is nearby and certain depictions of them, such as in St Petersen’s Field Guide to Lovercraftian Entities, has them resembling trees when disguising themselves. I dunno, I could be entirely wrong, but the placement of it as if the village is centered around it is giving me a suspicious vibe, so I want to try and stay away from the village for now. On a more logic-minded note; If the villagers return, I do NOT believe they’ll be Normal Guys. Coupled with the fact that Yorick is also going to ask Arthur to do things to the hag’s hand to alter it once they get settled, I don’t know if it’s a good idea to get caught doing whatever black magic fuckery is gonna go down.

My first instinct was to stay in the village. Easy choice, yeah? People are making a lot of good points though. Arthur is a survivalist, he can make his own fire and cover. We have no idea what freaky bullshit these people are into and after the hag, stealing stuff sounds less appealing. Plus with Yorick about to make Arthur do some black magic to the witch’s hand, I’d rather not have the interrupted or seen by anyone. Imagine they are normal people and they see him committing some dark occult shenanigans. Leave the village and have some privacy, it’s almost certain the occupants will return

Rachel

Shub was deleted from all existence though, so would her young still exist?
