This guy is super cursed and/or dead, I bet my hat on it. Something died upstream, the fire is luring in some sad ghost at best. After all the hell lived, Arthur can be more suspicious and cautious, risking looking like a dick. Only temptation is to accept out of curiosity, but not enough. I vote for the over-suspicious not polite at all act of: Deny Him.

I would love to have a bit of caution going into this. It's not our stuff or our home, who are we to give it out? Also, we have absolutely NO description or physical indicators of what is up with this guy. I would much rather be wary of a stranger we know literally nothing about

This guy is totally a fucking ghost. Like, there’s no way this is a normal living human being. I don’t expect Arthur is going to be finding any allies for a long time - remember that “isolation” is a theme for this season, contrasted with the amount of supporting ally characters from season 4. Pretty much every sign is pointing to this guy being a ghost. The fact that there is something that died upstream, Arthur’s unease and “cold feeling” he felt in one of the homes, the fact that this person has been shadowing them for a bit and clearly hung back/hid away initially after John saw him (or maybe another person? there could be more ghosts) instead of stepping out and confronting Arthur gives off really bad vibes. I don’t think anybody normal is here. Something happened to this village and maybe this man was a victim of it or the one who perpetrated it. I think too many people are operating under the assumption that this is just a living breathing human man when I’d argue we have a lot of evidence to suggest he isn’t. Sure, he hasn’t yet attempted harm, but I’d argue the very setting we find him in is suspicious enough to consider it plausible.

Is this guy definitely something we don't want to mess with? Absolutely Do I want to tell him no, upset him, and send him into the darkness of the forest to do gods know what?? Absolutely not Let the creepy man warm up by the fire as long as we can keep an eye on him. Better to keep a possible enemy in the light than let him roam around us in the dark

Deny might not anger him, it might just demonstrate we are not easily taken advantage of or are wary seasoned travelers. He is asking, not demandinf, after all (for whatever reason). Given the creepy wild circumstances, I don't think denying access would be as out of the ordinary as in a more city-like context. Hospitality implies a home to invite to. We are not at home, just (fellow?) weary travelers

I don’t really think we can deny this guy bc of social norms but also it’s not NYC anymore so there’s a high probability that they might be hostile but then again it could be a double switcharoo where this guy is actually nice, best option is to deny imo but if they really belong around here if there are people in the castle and we accept they could vouch for us when we arrive at the castle
