SeerOfTime

This is so tasty. The dramaaa.

Quinn

Okay SO, options: Going with the friar to confront the witch: - We may get a new perspective on things, but likely not any outright answers. That doesn’t mean we won’t find anything useful, though. - The friar might attack us. Not that Arthur and John couldn’t handle it, but getting attacked means weakening an already plague-ridden Arthur. And, if he kills the friar in the process, he looks like the murderer, even if he argues self defence. - Splitting into pairs means that Gerard and Barnabas could attempt something more than just reading about Azathoth. They could team up and attempt something else while we’re away. - Barnabas might try to kill Gerard. Gerard might be tougher than we think, but if one of them dies, then it’s one less person to try and take The Black Stone. But that also means one less potential ally as well. Going to the library: - Despite their actions thus far, Gerard and Barnabas could be working together. It would be clever for them to be so loudly opposed to each other in order to discreetly get away with other plans/actions. - Going to the library with 2 people we don’t trust? That outnumbers us, not including the fact that Barnabas is huge. And again, Arthur is scrappy and can worm his way out of most fights, but he’s extremely weak right now, which makes fighting not one but potentially TWO people much harder. - Finding out more about Azathoth could be extremely enlightening. (If you don’t know or don’t want to look into the mythos itself, view this just from John and Arthur’s perspective. They simply have no idea who or what the fuck Azathoth is). - If they get to know even basic facts about Azathoth, it could drastically affect how they approach the next encounters and challenges. Knowing who or what Azathoth is —- its intentions and/or history —- could help put some pieces together, including the appearances and purpose of the witch and the guards.

ANOTHER BANGER SEASON 5 GOES SO HARD AHHHHH

Skyhawkwolf

Agreed and if they aren't working together, barnabus is so aggressive, we risk him taking the time to kill gerard. I think the worst thing we could do is leave this to a arthur vs barnabus situation because in a physical fight our wet cat man may be taken out by burly scots man

Skyhawkwolf

I think getting info on Azathoth would allow us to get a better understanding of Kayne's motivations too. that said, could the witch give us more on the mother of darkness ?

Oliver Byrne

I think there’s more risk in going with The Friar. Out of the three, he’s the one that I trust the least. I don’t trust his alibi for the murder, especially with what we noticed earlier. So being alone with him doesn’t seem wise. And I don’t reckon there’s much to learn from the witch, though I wouldn’t say there’s nothing to be gained from observing her. But staying with Barnabus and Gerard may prevent another murder. Having three in a room together would leave the killer outnumbered, and hopefully Arthur will be crafty enough to diffuse any tension. Though he’s still in a vulnerable position, since he could inadvertently give himself away by revealing his ignorance on something that’s common knowledge to both of them. I dunno, I’d feel it’s a safer bet to not be alone with one other person rather than a group.

Emily Smithers

i say witch? i mean they could kill each other but then we would know who likely did it. and she could hold a lot of information for us that isnt in the study

Quinn

Harlan, the soundscaping is ALWAYS a treat — but especially that log added to the fire?? That was so crisp and so realistic, I absolutely LOVED that

Quinn

With the pros and cons of each laid out, I’m leaning toward following Gerard and Barnabas —- simply for the potential to learn about Azathoth. The witch might not speak to us, and the Friar is still sus — especially when John noticed he still had his complexly laced shoes still on when he had supposedly been sleeping

Nicky

I’d like to remind everyone to pause and think about what you want. Obviously to not be murdered, but Locking ourselves in our room to wait out the night like Everard is supposedly doing is not an option presented to us, so, what do we want to focus on / try to do for now? Solve the murder? Minimize additional deaths? Learn more about the stone and/or entities? Then consider the options from that lense. Going to the study could be great for • minimizing casualties - including self (safety in numbers) • getting information from Gerard, Barnabus, and Evrard’s books/documents/whatever else which could a) inform murder motive and/or b) inform about Azathoth, Order of the Fallen Star, and the Blackstone itself, even if just rumors/theories (everyone else here seems to know *about* it but all Arthur and John know is that Kayne wants it) Going to talk to Alia • help protect the Friar • keep an eye on the Friar • maybe get more info out of the Friar • maybe (but probably not) get any information about anything from Alia (Evrard, the stone, Mother Darkness, the cult, anything) • it leaves everyone alone with one other suspect, which feels like it increases the chances of someone getting killed (but do we care?)

Nicky

That’s assuming she’d talk, which she stoically refused to do for the other guests through their stays.

Jermey White

I'm more interested in the friar over any other option, I say keeping an eye on him will benefit us one way or another maybe he's the one pretending to be someone else for what reason I'm not sure or maybe taking to the witch and throwing in azathoth as a way to draw her into breaking her silence might somehow reward us with a useful tool or give the friar the power to heal our unknown sickness. The Frenchman and Scottsman need to find out things on their own. Which will cause arthur and possibly the friar to battle it out with two. Which I think they could handle the two just fine as long as we find the heal for arthur before it comes to blows.

Ni nak

the friar knows this too, but he must have reason for seing the witch now. that might be more worthwhile than the idea of just "trying to talk to the witch"

Raven Fritz

I would have said I worship Nyarlethothep

Raven Fritz

The friar is absolutely hiding something

Marble

I would like to call it now- someone’s gonna steal that dagger from the table and stabby stabby

Ethel Clark-Kistowski

please, need to hear Harlan voice the witch (or at least Jo) MORE FEMALE VOICES AND CHARACTERS !!!

Eva

Arthur buried them alive with that speach damn

Restlesschild

Why did I really want Arthur to say “chicks dig scars”
