With the pros and cons of each laid out, I’m still leaning toward following Gerard and Barnabas —- simply for the potential to learn about Azathoth, if nothing else. The witch might not speak to us, and the friar is still sus —- especially when John noticed he still had his complexly laced shoes on when he had supposedly been sleeping.

Nick D

I can see both sides but I feel more strongly about going with Gerard and Barnabas. We could learn more about the elder gods and protect Gerard if Barnabas is the killer. I imagine the Witch might react to Arthur or John due to her abilities but if the Friar is the killer and makes an attempt on Arthur, he could become the main suspect if it is his word versus the Friar’s.

keyraven

I think we should go with the Friar. In a locked-room murder mystery, its very ill-advised to let anyone be alone. The Friar is a suspect. He could be ditching evidence while alone, or otherwise cause problems. Additionally, the witch is a really interesting character. I want to see more of her - shes the only human with confirmed magical powers! (other than Arthur). Although we may not get much murder-mystery info out of her, we will get something!

Ochy Dochy

Sorry Friar Besty, you got a lil too spooky, Gerard is my besty now, I'm sure we can teach him jokes GOLLY WHAT A GOOD PART THAT WAS

Thomas Hegarty

In the last vote we were reminded of the words of Armitage, regarding the dangers pursuing knowledge. I see following Barnabus and Gerard as pursuit of knowledge and while there is the danger of them working together to frame us the idea of leaving the Friar alone so he can hide any evidence he still has if he is left alone. I understand the concern about leaving Gerard alone if Barney or Gerard is the killer, I highly doubt either one would kill the other as that would cement them as the killer. I’ve been curious since encountering Alia if she can see or hear John which is frequently the case with the blind occult in this show so far. I’d rather have this information come out with just the friar and not the whole group

Kara

Rule of cool!! Let’s go see Alia!!! I want to see her fuck up the friar if he tries anything with her

Puck

I say we go with the friar because I just think it would be really cool if the "witch" just starts talking to John and regarding him as a god or fallen one, and thus striking confusion or awe in the Friar and others. I like when people get suspicious of arthur's dirty little secret. It's just fun. Also if Barnabus *is * the murderer, then at least we're down a guy and Arthur is no longer pegged as a murder suspect. The options seem to be equally weighed so I'm opting for the more fun one lol

I see the appeal for the witch bc she does seem like a cool character, but I'm worried that if the friar is the murderer, and he tries to pull something on Arthur, then I'm imagining a scenario where Arthur defends himself but hurts the friar in a way that only makes Barnabus and Gerard even more suspicious of him. And I don't feel like the witch would vouch for Arthur either.

Nicky

This vote is phrased as who we will join, not where we will go/what we will do. Who we will be with and able to talk to is a key factor

Thomas Hegarty

After some more conversations and consideration I’m realizing that the language of the vote is aimed more at who we are “joining” not where we are going. We spent one chapter bonding with Barnabus, and another working to show Gerard’s innocence. At this point it would be a little silly to invest in a new ally

Abby-May Burkin

Don't forget the wording of the poll y'all. This ain't about talking to Aliya or reading the books. It's about who we wanna join. Is the Friar really worth it...?

Ni nak

also, female character. maybe not talking, but in the room. not something we see every day. (written with good intended humor and sincerity)

Nicky

I don’t think of any of the options as “investing in an ally” Joining could be about keeping an eye on a suspect, trying to gather information, etc

Ni nak

my first idea was to join the friar. when re-listening to the episode, the other two guys seemed more .. natural a choice. one of them is scared shitless of being killed by the other. they need a third. the friar is ok alone. what impression are we leaving from this choice?

Raven Fritz

Going with the friar means if something happens, our word is untrustworthy, it also means Gerard might die. But going with the group means the friar can concoct anything he wants.

Nicky

How does going with the friar make Arthur untrustworthy?

Gibs

buddy system, people!! dont leave one person alone, especially if they seem suspicious. that just gives them free reign to do all their suspicious things without worry

Thaelia

I think we should go with Gerard and Barnabas: -Safety in numbers. At this point, everyone is a suspect, and I don’t like or trust the the Friar and don’t want to be alone with him. -It’s been a week and the witch has spoken to no one. I doubt us or the Friar can change that. -If Barnabas is the killer, we can protect Gerard with our presence- remember that Gerard literally asked not to be left alone with Barnabas! An ally in Gerard could still be helpful. Everyone is a suspect at this point, but I will say that I suspect Gerard the least at the moment. -Even if Barnabas isn’t the killer, we could also prevent Barnabas from turning Gerard against us while we’re gone- I still think he thinks we’re not Warin and I doubt he’s just going to forgive and forget the ring planting incident. -More opportunity to talk with Gerard and Barnabas and figure out what’s going on with them. I noticed that Barnabas declined to identify what God he worships. -I want to see what the books say. Any more information about Azathoth or the Blackstone and what’s going on here could end up being invaluable. Knowledge has a price, sure, but not knowing basic facts about what’s going on can be dangerous too. We are at a serious information disadvantage compared to the others, who are all seasoned cultists according to Evrard.

Nicky

If they were more confident the killer was not a guest? Sure. But if thinking the killer is a guest, pairing up is leaving someone alone with the murderer

Raven Fritz

If something happens, like the friar getting killed, no one would believe us. And if the friar lies about something, they won't know who to trust.

Sophie K

We should learn more about Azathoth considering he’s just been mentioned as the lord of everything. That seems important. While the witch also seems really cool, we do know that no one else has gotten her to talk, so there may be a chance we don’t learn anything if we go with the Friar

Pan

the vote isn't about the witch or the library, though. its about who we're going with. theres no guarantee that we'll be able to reach the witch or the library depending on who we go with

Pan

this is the third instance we've gotten of a vote specifically mentioning the friar. no other character has been specifically called out as much as him, he even inserted himself into the conversation after the four way vote despite losing and talked about himself anyways. he's a suspicious character, it's definitely worth it to follow him

Pan

This is the third time we've seen the Friar specifically mentioned in a vote. While it could mean nothing, it could also be a narrative nudge in his direction. He also inserted himself into a scene after the four way vote despite losing, and has been noted to be highly suspicious (ex, creating a fake alibi by walking to the room with us then running off in the timeframe of the murder). at this point it feels ill advised to leave him alone and wiser to keep an eye on him and investigate. he could also come back and lie to us about what he heard from the witch if we return with gerry and barnabus. vote for the friar and we might get some answers

Pan

For people worried about Gerard with Barnabus, keep in mind Arthur is in no state to be defending anyone against a murderer right now, and if something WERE to happen we know who the suspect is anyways. We can't play hero just because Gerard is afraid when we're one cough away from keeling over. Barnabus likely knows it would be a stupid move to kill Gerard in this instance too (assuming he is the killer). Its too early on in the night for another murder so soon

Pan

the chances of the friar getting killed in this instance are very low, and even if he was attacked we're there too (meaning we could defend him, though we're in no such state, or we'd also get attacked). going with the friar would keep him in check from lying, he'd have to be stupid to try and lie knowing that we went with him and would instantly refute him

Sasha

noooo what are you doing :( if the friar is the killer then when he's by himself he might destroy any evidence pointing to him. Also his fixation on the witch is so sus.

Sasha

flip back plsss

Nicky

True, but all the guests seem to have info about Azathoth and the Blackstone and we can talk with whoever we’re with. 1) a single person with knowledge but supposedly no affiliation 2) two people, at least one of which supposedly affiliated

Alexi

are yall fr theyre gonnna call us out for saying we should stay in pairs and then immediately not doing that

Alexi

we neglected the friar once before and that was a mistake

Marina Bennett

Someone mentioned that while Arthur mentioned it was safe to stick in pairs, he also trailed off which may indicate that he realized “sticking in pairs” is only really beneficial if you trust the person you are paired with, which none of these characters trust one another. I agreed with this point and I don’t think the other parties are going to judge Arthur heavily for this comment.

MemeticHygienist

FriarMcFleshBoy is tryna pull some sheisty sheit with the witch. I do not trust his patron as far as I can throw it.

Alexi

no you stick in pairs so that if you get murdered everyone knows the murderer was your partner. everyone else has an alibi because youre in pairs

Lettie Black

While it would be great for Arthur and John to learn more about Azathoth, I feel like it’s a bad idea to leave the Friar to his own devices. With no one around to watch him, who knows what he could get up to.

lenore

I was originally gonna go with friar however: 1. If we go in pairs someone is likely gonna die, either garard or barnabus OR the friar could attack Arthur and boy is not for fighting. If we survived an attack and ended up killing him we will be immediately the prime suspect and barnabus and Gerard turn against us. Even if the friar isn't the murderer, if something bad happens when conversing with the witch or god forbid one of the dark mothers lackeys attack us and friar dies again we are the suspect and noone will believe us. 2. If we go in a group of 3 and friar is on his own noone has to die. Killer won't get one on one time if he is in our group and if it's the friar he has noone to kill. Also excellent point being made about Gerard being scared already to be alone with barnabus. Going with garard and barnabus has best chance of garunteeing nobody dies with added benefit of learning about azathoth

Lettie Black

Also, if I’m remembering right, the Friar has always been suspiciously interested in the witch. Going with him might mean we finally find out what he wants from her.

Abby-May Burkin

Hmmm, fair point. I initially figured that he'd already gone to see the Witch earlier and that's why he left his room, so it's suspicious he'd want to go back .But on re-listening he seems to include Arthur when he says everyone else has already seen her, which is impossible because Arthur just turned up. So maybe he's off to do something else.....🤔

Jesse Williamson

it's too bad azathoth isn't one of the things john remembers from KiY days. also I lost track of where yorick is, if we manage to sneak off we could ask eldritch alexa more about the alien all father hopefully without risking getting got by the others & less eldritch madness points? maybe yorick can even be passed off as a horig related Powerful Chosen Ones connection to their diety type deal 🤷🏻‍♀️ friars slippery, i think they would both have excuses to separate so it'd be easier that route. also the witch is cool af and it's hard not to wanna go see 🖤

Sophie

I think Yorick is in Arthur's bag and he still has his bag with him.

Sam

Sorry, Frenchmen, its been nice knowing you. Barnabus is gonna eat him alive. But we gotta go hang out with our new The Flesh aligned friend, and FINALLY GET ANOTHER FEMALE VOICE?

blacklightRIOT

i'm here for the girls and the gays and since miss witch is the only girl ima have to mosey over yonder if the opportunity arrives huehue PLUS SHE SCARPERED WITH THE STIFF! WE WANNA TOUCH THAT CORPSE! IN A NORMAL WAY

blacklightRIOT

i mean itd be painfully, HYSTERICALLY obvious whos been doin the slice and dice if 2 dudes went off together and only one came back LMFAO

blacklightRIOT

ey if only one of em comes back that just puts a cap on murder mystery dinner theatre so win-win

blacklightRIOT

if he goes off alone somebody else might merc him and if anybody is gonna stick a knife in his soft shitty body it should be arthur, as a little treat uwu

Amy

I’m picking friar simply because I think he shouldn’t be left alone. I don’t think the witch is gonna talk to him, or that he’ll be able to convince her to.

MemeticHygienist

Wait. Are Arthur’s “sanity points” being tracked, and have they been gradually dwindling this whole time??

Layali

Oh, Gerard…it was nice knowing you.

lenore

If the friar tries something and we defend ourselves that could be Arthur coming back alone tho
