Ride or die on trust at this point. Arthur and John need to stick to one rather than swinging around like in seasons past.

Even if his intentions are not evil or bad, something is going on with Antoine and it would be wise in these circumstances to try to get a better idea of what it may be rather than leaving him to deal with it himself.

Arthurs asking for a lot of trust from them and Vale made it clear that they need trust to fulfill their duty. Also we have no idea if this Antoine is anything like the one who manipulated the Widow; even if he is, who knows what he went through and how he had changed from the 13th century to say, the 18th century or even WHY Arthurs original antoine lived so long other than cultist shit (assuming here, its not stated exactly how long ago that happened)

It's important to note that the question, as posed at the end of the chapter, is "Did you trust him?", not "Do you regret ever trusting him?" We are voting for Arthur's trust in the flashbacks, not his current regret.

If the flashback framing device wasn't being used, how would we vote? I believe we would try to figure out whats going in, snoop around, investigate. In other words, "Begin to Doubt". In the flashback, Antoine told us that he's having dark thoughts, and is being cagey about his chest. That's enough reason for past Arthur to doubt his trustworthiness, and keep an eye on him. What has Antoine done to earn this level of blind trust in the face of conflicting evidence? Also, the earlier we find out what hurting him, the better we can help him.

I hate the plausibility of the notion that Antoine asked Arthur if we knew how his former lord died.. because he knows how he died, and it was Bad. We don’t know how the soldiers ended up in the dreamlands.
