use the talisman to get more information, Arthur and John are operating under 0 info right now

hi folks! i have a LOT of thoughts. ultimately, i think we should vote REVIVE. this vote is about HOPE. i'm going to share some of my thoughts about the arguments i've seen for choosing to not revive. 1. 'What if Antoine comes back wrong?' what if Antoine comes back *right*? What if Arthur's words mattered, and he'll see himself as capable of (what we believe to be) good? We have no idea how Antoine will come back at all. Maybe he just comes back right-handed instead of left. Who can say 2. 'Antoine doesn't know where the blackstone is' - unfortunately, neither do we, plus we don't *actually* know he doesn't know where the blackstone is. 3. 'Antoine died peacefully' - ehhh, this is just as true as 'Antoine died miserably.' They're both true. On the level of characters in Malevolent, yeah it was comparatively peaceful, but like...wet and cold in the mud, just having been sent on a suicide mission and subjected to Lilith's personal terrordome? It's definitely possible that he could die miserably again, but it is ALSO perfectly possible that he doesn't! We have no clue what could happen - to ANY of them - and arguing definitively 'he'll just die horribly!' is based on conjecture. 4. 'Yorick isn't around and he knows how to use the talisman' - very possibly! But we also don't know, maybe Yorick IS around! He could just as possibly be chilling in the bag, stuffed away ~~because he was irritating~~ not plot relevant. Who's to say Yorick is completely gone and not around to help us? 5. '[insert either option] fits better within the themes of Malevolent' - I fundamentally disagree that one over the other is a 'better' choice because it fits within Malevolent's themes. Harlan wouldn't give us the option to completely derail or negate or invalidate the major themes of the show. Trust that Harlan knows what he's doing - he'll make either option work. That's why he presented them 6. 'He's at rest now' - well, is he? Arthur got waylay'd, but the consensus seems to be that Arthur made it to the waylay because he was special. We have no idea what happens to humans that aren't Arthur after they die. It is equally possible Antoine is stuck in an afterlife torment nexus 7. 'We don't know what the talisman will do' - 1) isn't that fun? 2) we know what it's at least partially capable of, which was reviving Arthur with no issues. Even if the talisman would affect Arthur differently than Antoine (which we still don't know if that's true or not), we don't have to assume the effect would be catastrophically bad. 8. 'Arthur shouldn't play with life and death like a god' - he already has. He has mercy killed two people, one who couldn't even offer explicit consent. He also released the wraith without knowing quite what would happen, only doing so with hopeful compassion in his heart. Heck, if allowing the Vanguard to puppet the decapitated rotting head of a prince we didn't care about isn't playing with life and death, I don't know what is. Playing with life and death isn't new for Arthur, nor is it inherently a bad or inhuman thing for Arthur specifically. 9. 'It's selfish to revive Antoine' - we can stand something to gain without it being *selfish*. When a fastfood worker sneaks food without paying for it, they're both stealing from their employer (good - come at me) *and* enjoying food. Two things can be true at once. 10. This is another moment for us to consider humanity in all its forms. Many credibly argued that we should extend compassion to MD along these lines - why can't this apply to Antoine as well? *****We are afforded a unique opportunity to give someone a second shot at life. It might go wrong, but it might ALSO go right! And if it does go wrong, is it so bad that we voted with hope in our heart? ******

BREAKING BREAKING: BJ *LITERALLY SAYS* “Antoine has died, and so the location of the Blackstone with him.” ANTOINE DID KNOW SOMETHING

Soooo...bear with me, I think the stone could be *inside* Antoine. John posits it could be "inside a chest" in 50, and then we hear the next two episodes about Antoine "scratching" his "chest". This is giving very clever Harlan wordplay. Evrard also says Antoine is "vital" to the mission and had this period he was missing on his own for a time. Antoine was also certain he would die on this mission, and planned for his own demise. My sincere fear is, as others have said, if he is revived he could either A) Come back wrong. B) Be ill and have 2nd painful death C) Have to be killed again by the boys/a diety to get the stone out. Thirdly, I think by *not* using the talisman we earn another chance to return it to MD, who we know must still be coming to make good on her promise-and the boys could use all the less enemies they could get right now. His death was written so carefully and intentionally, and he seemed so set on and prepared for it. I think reviving him just for information as others pointed out is a moment of 'using' him as others have pointed out. My theory may be too far fetched for some, but I think the others have made really good arguments along side it that letting Antoine rest rather than use the stolen item we shouldn't of stolen or kept in the first place. John mentioned in s1-magic like that has a cost (and such has been the case each season)-especially for mortals not in the place of Arthur who is merged with a God.

I worry that by refusing to revive Antoine and follow the only possible lead to the location of the Blackstone that’s available to them would be considered chosing to fail the task Kayne gave Arthur and John, thus worthy of the “stick” punishment he has in store for them.

1- I like the morality question of revival and bringing that into the forefront. Esp as it may come up again later re Kayne’s carrot 1.5- We fought so hard to acquire and keep this revival talisman. Let’s deal with the consequences! 2- I want to know what Antoine was sick from 3- I like Antoine a lot let’s have him in the show more 4- Antoine will suffer more? Okay drama, let’s have it. This is the characters suffering show 5- Antoine is our last lead about the blackstone, and we’re stuck in medieval land until Arthur dies or they find it, so let’s not lose this opportunity! Whether or not they give it to Kayne is another thing but they gotta find it first to have that choice

I think we should carefully consider how the vote with keeping the talisman in the first place went; while hope and spitfire is important, it's that reckless instinct and wild abandon with little regard for others that got us into trouble with the talisman in the first place. Things to consider: Arthur and Antoine's conversation about what they believe is after death, Alia stating Antoine is essential to the mission, and the multiple polls regarding whether or not we trust Antoine. I'm uncertain which choice is the best outcome, though I suspect best outcomes are out the window this deep into the story. Do we trust Antoine to live up to his potential and revive him? Do we trust that he was correct and it was his time to die, and reviving him will only cause more problems? I think either way Booth John will chide us as well, either for forcing life on a man that already made peace with death or for selfishly keeping the talisman at a steep cost and then not even utilizing it for a dear friend's loss. I'm also wondering what fits best narratively considering how heartfelt and painful Antoine's death was. Also another important note; Arthur and John's communication and dynamic is going to be vastly impacted I think by having another party member if Antoine does return and I can't decide if I like them being alone more after this or having a trifecta for a while. That's assuming the talisman works with no drawbacks for Antoine 😅 Magic always has a price, after all. (Hydros101 has good points for anti talisman use ☝️ I will say)

We likely aren't going to get another chance to use the Talisman. This is our chance!

In previous parts they say "all that matters is the Blackstone" in those exact words. They can't afford to think of the deeper meanings or ideas in this vote, I think, and they have to revive him if they want to keep moving.
