Entering as a friend does not mean that you are declaring yourself as the DM's bestie. It's announcing that you are not a threat/have no intent to cause harm (and know how to follow instructions). It is likely there is no double meaning.

And what kind of friends do you think they DM has? If anything, doesnt it make more sense they associate more with fiends? Evil spirits and demons usually need a host or *body* to help channel their influence in some shape or form. I like where you're coming from in terms of non-threatening, but how many people want to be friends in the Dark World? We've had one person we could call a genuine friend (but Yorik is a special case, the rest have been indifferent or hostile, even Fredrick was bloodthirsty until the lighter).
