I think this vote is going to be a test in respecting other's will/needs above our own. Clearly walking in doesn't make sense to us or Arthur-it feels counterintuitive but it was what was asked of us. Arthur mentioned this seems like someone trying to cultivate a sense of peace/home in battlefield and this how they did it. Friendship, which is what the vote is, friend vs fiend often comes down to respecting friend's opinions and supporting them even if we don't always understand. Arthur mentioned we want to be on good terms with the dollmaker so we don't get tricked regarding the body received. Following the sign's instructions, trying to be friendly and non-hostile is a sign of respect. It's Arthur's attempt to see this creature's agency and respect it. And it puts us in a better position for what Arthur is going to have to ask for, being a body, as opposed to off the bat ignoring all that is asked of us in someone else's home. This feels like one of those. "Remove your shoes on the porch" signs which some people might be like 'what the fuck' if they're unfamilar with it being a cultural thing in many households to remove shoes. Arthur has a trend of...being a British guy tm, where he assumes he knows how people think and how the world works and that is just "how things are". This is such an example that goes against his perceived notion of etiquette. But it's what the dollmaker/house owner wants. And in the past Arthur hasn't always respected those things. So if we're to level with this creature, get a genuinely good working body showing up and respecting their wishes even if we don't understand them feels essential. So I think picking "Friend" Is the respectful choice, and sets us up to show we are not just making demands of the dollmaker but willing to work with them to get what we need.
