CALL OF CTHULHU ENIGMA #1 (Patreon)

There is a cold calmness that washes over you as you wake from your slumber, a familiar voice calls to you. You eyes adjust to a black scene as a figure offers an outstretched hand towards you and you take it;

"Name is Roland," the figure says, "You helped some friends of mine a few years ago and I'm here to see if you'll do it again," he smiles warmly and gestures you to follow.

"Jarrett Coombs, you remember him?" he says as he lights a ghostly cigarette in his hand. He casts a ghostly figure, all a faded blue, almost transparent and moves as if underwater; the world around you a blackened void, nothing save the two of you. "He needs our help again for some friends of his," he takes a drag from his cigarette as smoke billows out from a deep cut along his windpipe. He laughs and looks down at the smoke.

"Oh ya," he says shaking his head, gesturing to the gash along his throat, "Imagine getting another chance at life only to remember too late that you had already died? Imagine being hunted down once again by the same guy who killed you..." his playful tone drops slightly as he crushes the faded blue cigarette on the spectral floor beneath you. 

"At least my wife and daughter got away this time... Eddie that mother-" he mumbles under his breath, "That doesn't matter now... if we can help them then Eddie, Antoine and the rest of those sick fucks don't matter. It's so much bigger than them." 

He turns and begins towards a glowing doorway and gestures you through, 

"You go on ahead," he says, "I need to guide a few others to join you..." he smiles, a pained expression behind his eyes as you pass through into a brightly lit room...

The room before you is bizarre; a blurry setting that you can barely make out. It has what may be a chair and a bed but you can't be sure. All you are sure of is that laying on the table in crystal clear view, is a picture. You know that you must help the investigators somehow, but you're not sure what you're meant to do...
