We have all night to snoop and most importantly, aren’t breaking into the place we’re being offered a room at for the sake of investigating something that doesn’t have to do with what we’re doing. It’s the middle of the night we can’t get something else and if he’s caught breaking in or even just late he’s likely to not have a place for the night

My gut still says Marie is trustworthy (maybe she's just a witch!!), and also, if there's some sort of obfuscating force on this house that only John can see, that could help protect us from unwanted attention! On the other hand, snooping is definitely in character for Arthur... hmmm.... 🤔

The advert for the place did mention Marie was looking for "a room renter who keeps to themself" so I'm worried getting caught snooping would end badly for Arthur. However, if the place seems suspicious it might also be a bad idea to stay there for the night without knowing more about the place... This is a though one

I'm operating on the assumption that it's best to stay on Marie's good side for now and that we will surely bump into whatever spooky thing is later on, so I'm going to vote for the key. That's another one I don't feel particularly strongly about tho.
