I think it'd be best to lie about who he is. Giving his real name is too risky with the stuff connected to it, and searching himself would take too long. Arthur was able to bluff with Oscar, I don't see why he can't bluff with the hospital staff, especially using the fact it was him who called ahead to warn them to his advantage.

Recommend the lie vote, we don’t want his real name to lead Larson right to him; and we know he’s going to look once he realizes Arthur is missing. Plus if Oscar is looking for Arthur at the hospital he’ll be looking for “Parker” and we could use an ally.

Between telling the truth or lying how do we prove whether or not we’re Arthur or Parker? I feel like lying, especially with the history the name Parker has, has more benefits than truthing lol. There is one glaring issue between both of these options, however, and it’s that our wet cat of a man is bleeding profusely e v e r y w h e r e from multiple holes in his already swiss cheese of a body. There is a considerably high possibility that a nurse will take one look at him and immediately admit his ass. (In the grand scheme of things, however, is that really a bad thing? Arthur is in desperate need of a break and a bandaid)

Patreon ate my comment, probably because it was too long, but basically it was this: The attempt to find Daniel option is too long and too risky. Supposedly the police are on their way/already in the hospital, and you want to do a stealth mission? Not a good look for a disheveled bleeding man to go skulking around looking for Daniel. As for the other two options: I think it is safe to assume that for the lying option we will be using the Parker alias, which is something that neither the Butcher nor Larson knows. It will give us an edge. "Parker" is known by Oscar, who called the police in the first place, and is valuable as a vouch for that identity. Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that the Butcher will steal Arthur's name in an attempt to get closer to Daniel. The last thing I want is for Arthur to give his name only for the nurse to say "Sorry sir, Arthur Lester already came in earlier." [cue vine boom] and then is thrown into a paddy wagon. Maybe by the Butcher himself. No thank you.

Reposting my thoughts from the discord: I hold the belief that the more people between Arthur and Daniel and the Butcher, the better, even though Arthur seems to worry about there being a bloodbath. I think that Butcher would be less likely to attempt to kill someone if he had to encounter more people in his way just due to his deal with Larson seemingly hinging on him being “clean” about things. Harder to be clean if there’s already people on guard. And I also do genuinely think the man on the phone Arthur spoke to did believe him - or if he didn’t, he was concerned enough to say something to the staff/authorities if they’re there. I might relisten to try and gauge his tone more but he didn’t strike me as sounding dismissive, just confused and wanting clarification. I think that ultimately option 2 could get us to Daniel the fastest, but have more problems for us after the fact what with the police re: Arthur maybe being a missing person/wanted man back in Arkham. If I was able to vote during the last public episode all I know is I would’ve tried to argue for Arthur getting to as public a space as he possibly could because I think that could deter the Butcher or at least force him to change his plan of action. I don’t think that the Butcher would expect Arthur to rely so much on the help of other people, which could effectively “outsmart” him in this specific circumstance.

To further state my case - We haven't gotten anything that says Daniel has more family but I do think he's the kind to have Arthur's contact info written down somewhere as next of kin. I also believe Arthur Lester is potentially a bad name to admit openly - but I also think that's what the Butcher wouldn't expect Arthur to do. He knows Arthur's real name and potentially about his connection to the disappearances in Arkham, so he might anticipate Arthur trying to lie. I think the Butcher would want to take advantage of Arthur being dishonest in the event they do cross paths here. Making this whole thing as public and being truthful will probably trip him up. And as for if the police will want to detain Arthur for his connections to Parker and Eddie - well, again, I don't know about that, and I think its def a possibility. But in the short term? Arthur wants to save Daniel. This will all but guarantee that he is able to reach Daniel as quickly as possible. Even if it causes Arthur trouble later, I don't think that it's worth it to think about right now. And if Daniel survives, we might be able to have him cover for Arthur in the event of any sort of police questioning. #VOTETRUTH

Thank you to the truth truthers for helping me see what was in my heart but was too lost and afraid to commit to. Searching alone is the biggest gamble, and Arthur's lies are hit or miss, but being nakedly open about his nakedly obvious emotions is something he can definitely pull off rn

the goal is to keep Daniel alive. we can deal with getting arrested or worse. the question is if a real name or fake name will get us to him faster. going with truth unless anyone can convince me otherwise, bc going by Parker might not turn out to be the lie.

Hellooo, so, my mom says that the choice that has more possibilities to things to happen (not seeking actively success or loss, instead seeking more branching paths) is the third and I agree. Also, do we really want to get to Daniel's room? Could be showing the path to him to the butcher, could be puting on a silver platter the target and the loose end. Peeping around can make us find more Intel on the hospital situation, to quite Hallow on the discord, is the slowest way to get arthur screwed among the three choices. I'll honor my mother's and sink on the classic "sneak around" choice.

one final argument for Truth as the final hours approach: I suspect that even if Arthur’s message didn’t get fully across, it was enough to make the staff wary and on alert. And if that’s the case, and Arthur gets to the room with a number of people in tow or at least nearby, the chances the Butcher has at pulling off a clean hit are dramatically reduced, which limits his options. I truly think it’s the only way to outsmart him in this circumstance because I doubt the Butcher would ever expect Arthur to risk his identity - which the Butcher knows he’s lied about multiple times - or the safety of other people - which I’d argue isn’t a real concern by letting enough people know because again, the Butcher just has one target and Larson would hate if he made even more of a mess. By doing the most unexpected course of action we would be able to throw him off his groove in a way that Arthur wasn’t able to at ALL so far. By showing the Butcher that he’s able to put faith in others he both defies the Butcher’s expectations and assumptions of how similar they are. #VOTETRUTH!
