Hello All!

The Boys is definitely back and we're straight back to screaming, laughing and cringing haha. I LOVE IT! Poor Todd gets a beating, bringing realism to the never meet your idols saying! The Deep is still having a secret love affair with his octopus. Victoria is getting sex pics off Butcher. Ryan is getting lied to by Homelander. Zoe has a dark passenger escaping her mouth AND Hughie's Dad isn't looking to healthy...it's all going on! As well as Sage being introduced and Annie being sucked into politics battle and losing from the sly games of Homelander's army. WILD!

Great to have this show back it's so crazy the writing is bonkers lol. Love victoria she's really grown one ofc noone can match kimiko but they are both wonderful 🙌 oh hello negan a fine addition to the show because JDM is awesome . MM looks so different yes but he's only slimmed down because he was eating to much pizza and junk food in general so it's nothing more than he wanted to get more healthy 👍 bless you dak for even when I'll you still record and bring us content you're fantastic 💙🫂 the deep I just can't lol 🐙 , who the heck is black nior I need to know🙂 , homelander sucks same nothing changes there hes just terrible. What a crazy start this was holy moly this season is going to be nuts

Yeah I was like wait what when I first saw him and I saw an interview a few months back with kimiko and starlight on a talkshow and starlight looked almost like another person but it may just be a growing thing with her

Yea I used to watch trailers and cast interviews. I love them. But now I try to resist until I'm sure they don't have spoilers in them. I watched the 3 episodes myself then watched a reaction and read the comments and so many people were referencing him losing weight. I guess because I wasn't looking for it I didn't notice. But now it's so obvious!! Lol. Idk how I missed it.

The boys is always crazy. I heard that season 5 is the finale season.

Well, the season is off to a banging start. I think some of the plot points are feeling a bit rushed and that's got to be because of the limited number of episodes. I really think they need to increase the number to at least 10. Maybe 13. 8 is just too few to be able to really tell the number of stories they're telling. One sign of this issue is the Frenchie and Colin relationship. It's happening super quick, and without any background info. No lead up to it. Just one of the things to point to the problem of so few episodes. I like seeing the signs of a progression from where last season left off. And them mentioning things. Like the big fight. I still think it was unnecessary for Butcher and everyone to suddenly give up their plan. Ryan would have been fine. Homelander would have kept Soldier Boy from killing him, and they would have been busy fighting. Two problems solved. The others could have gotten the Ryan away to safety while that was happening. Seeing Homelander looking at the hair was confusing at first. It took me a minute to figure out that it must be because it was a grey hair. Hard to tell that it was though, since homelander has blond/white hair anyway. I was surprised that he does age, though. I figured he'd age slowly, or not at all, just like Stormfront. But it's nice to know that he does have a weakness. Or, maybe it was his interaction with Soldier Boy that is making him now age. Maybe he got enough of that juice Soldier Boy gives out to make it happen? Who knows. I was also surprised by seeing Noir. And he speaks now? Turns out it's not really Noir, but a stand in. I thought it might have been possible that Noir survived, or was brought back. But this would make more sense. Odd that no one talked about it. I liked seeing Ryan showing signs of displeasure over Homelanders plans and ruthlessness, and seeming to still care about Butcher. It was really odd seeing MM slimmed down. I actually prefer it. I think it's healthier. Bulking up with muscles like he was before is not natural for many people and is a lot of work to maintain. And it's not always done in a healthy was. I'm glad that the producers and Amazon didn't pressure the actor to keep it up and it looks like they're incorporating it into the show, by him just not eating as much. I am curious about if they're going to be able to save Butcher. If they don't then he won't be in season 5. Oh, I forgot to add. I 100% think that Newman gave Hughie's dad the stroke.

I was very happy when I settled into my chair for the night, clicked on my Patreon/Dakara shortcut, and saw that you had uploaded this one. On the 13th I had added a bit at the end of my comment on whatever show it was and mentioned the first three episodes were released. Obviously you already knew! I was also happy to be able to rewatch it with you because it took me two days to finish this episode as I found it to be slow and somewhat boring in places. This also happened when I originally watched the very first episode of season one; when I rewatched that one, I really enjoyed it. I mean, it's been two years since the last season, so I had to get back into the groove. I was surprised to see Black Noir as I remember Homelander brutally murdering him. When he started speaking I figured it out: a Noir stand-in. They used the same actor and that had me wondering if they let him know at the time that he'd be back, what with it being two years later. Every single time they have a Robert Singer for President scene I smile. It's just so perfect having Jim Beaver play that role and I really want to buy the person that thought of that a present. Okay, so now the negative, at least for me - and let me say first that when I turned 18 I decided that I would never vote because I had felt like an observer of society since grade school. I have my own beliefs and values and I don't share them or yell at people that don't agree with me. I have stated several times in past comments that I hate when real-world politics are inserted into TV series'. I never had that feeling about The Boys because, while the show obviously leans to the Left, they skewered both sides of the aisle. However, this episode was rife with politics that reflected current issues happening, but also used buzz words and phrases (and lies) as triggers that specifically targeted those on the Right. For those born after a certain time, this kind of hyper-partisan stuff did not happen back in the day. Yes, everyone wants their team to win, but mobs fighting in the streets and that other nonsense was almost unheard of. And to have this season air in an election year? 🤔I'm not Left or Right, I'm just Brian. But the thing that made me a bit angry in this episode was the comment about Nancy Reagan performing a sexual act behind the White House. I was in Grade School, High School, and College during that administration and she was the most dignified First Lady in my lifetime. She also created the "Just Say No" campaign whose aim was to discourage minors from doing drugs and it's still a slogan today. Anyway, just be kind to each other and if your person doesn't win, there's always next time. We're all human and we're all worthy of dignity and respect. Thanks Dak, I really needed to see this as a rewatch and you came through for me exactly when I needed it.

Why are we calling Sister Sage a they/them? Pretty slow start to the new season. The starts of the previous three left you with a feeling of 'Let's GO!' - this one - meh. I think Neumann might be on the way to becoming my new favourite character.

The stories about Nancy Reagan's … talent … are derived from a biography written by the delightful, always reliable, and by no means sensationalistic Kitty Kelley. Eric Kripke appears to share with the South Park boys the view that the best way to criticise a woman whose politics you don't like is to denigrate her sexually.

Well, I don't really give a shit about gender or sexuality, I judge on decisions. I don't care if you're male or female. My point was that Nancy Reagan was a great First Lady. I forgot to add that I was also thinking Neumann might be my new favorite character too. I don't know, I enjoyed the episode on the second viewing, but we didn't get very much from the others apart from Homelander's aging crisis. I was also disappointed Kimiko was no longer with Frenchie.
