Hello All!

So Agent Scott has crossed over to Olivia's mind during the tank experiment?! WILD. I love that he's lead her to his documentation hidden out in a safe space. There WAS an engagement ring too!!! He loved her. Olivia's life has been none stop from the moment she found out John was hiding a lot. Walter is still an absolute gem that we must protect, bring on the next one!

Truly hope you enjoy the reaction folks. Have a fab week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

The actor who played Meegar's mother, Marylouise Burke, was a friend of my father. I remember, back in the late '80's/early '90's, occasionally going into New York City, to see her in Off Broadway, or Off-Off Broadway shows. Then , later, she would be on TV or a bit part in a movie, and she was always good.

yeah, like michael said, don't worry about understanding the science too much, you're supposed to at least partially throw your hands up and be like "wtf" lol. with all the filtering down from walter to olivia and astrid, they do a good job explaining what we need to understand to follow along. you've noticed it already and i'm just here to reassure you that that continues.

Omg, she’s one of the classic character actors of my childhood!

Dakara, I think it's safe to say that Olivia seeing John Scott IS a hallucination but it is so much more because of their connection when she was in the tank. The act of going in the tank and sharing consciousness with him caused a unique connection between them. So you are right to say that she is hallucinating him, but it's deeper more profound, more complex than that. From the show's standpoint I love that there are consequences to what they did in the pilot and he didn't just go away. It shows that Fringe is a very well thought out show with layer upon layer to explore.

As far as the question of “is she hallucinating him” goes— I think ultimately you are meant to be able to reason one way or the other as an audience member depending on what resonates with you. But my personal interpretation is that the thoughts and memories that Walter refers to as John’s “consciousness” were really literally transferred into her mind. But in order to make sense of this foreign material, her brain causes her to hallucinate him being physically present in the here and now. Almost like an extra layer of her subconscious mind. For instance, take the time she sees him walking down the road and stops her car to follow him to that hidden room of evidence. I see that as her driving down that street & the John part of her brain in the back is like “oh I had a secret stash of stuff just off this road” & so she hallucinates him walking to it to find it. At least that’s how it always seemed to me, ymmv.

I was thoroughly confused when first watching this show about Olivia seeing John. I kept going back and forth about whether he was real or not. He had to be a hallucination because he would just appear and disappear. But then he'd seem so real. There were a lot of things that I got confused about with this show. I think you're doing a much better Job than I did. At least you are able to remember the names better than I could. I wasn't as enamored with Walter as you are. His relationship with Peter kept getting in my way. Plus his anger issues bothered me. I figured that he may not have been a very good dad, so I wasn't willing to let that slide. But then there's the fact of him being a bit messed up in the head that you have to factor in and maybe give him some slack over.

The Science 1. As I've mentioned before, you are remarkably perceptive and grasp complex concepts with ease. Clever. 2. Keep in mind that this is 'Fringe' science. While they do a commendable job grounding the narrative in scientific principles, they also delve deeply into theoretical realms. 3. As a scientist, I can attest that we share the same questions and seek the same clarifications from the storyline as everyone else. They explore a multitude of scientific areas beyond any one expert's specialization. (That almost felt like a confession! - lol) 4. Continue the great content, all you need to do is be you. I've seen you process the intricacies of complex ideas and storylines with ease. Even Buffy has layers not everyone perceives, and you did. You also do this while making content that is really enjoyable and fun. When Walter told Olivia that she wasn't hallucinating, your questions were spot on. I had the same questions and felt the same ambiguity. The irony is that your 'extra' questions are a testament to your insight. Most would not notice the conflation of terminology or recognize the subtle distinctions as you did. -Impressive.

Thanks TheMartinScott, genuinely appreciate your kind words. I am enjoying this show and I all I hope is that you guys enjoy the ride too. What's impressive is that you're a scientist! I know who to go to when this show confuses me haha

I don't think that was up to interpretation. That is exactly what Walter said as well. Very well put. Since some of his memories were in there and the brain is like a computer, imagine the memories like a bit of a code translated into images/video in order to be easy to interprete. And it was activated in places and during cases where his memories are related.

It is so frustrating that Olivia will not confide in anyone, but you realize that she's a tough cookie. She has her walls up. Also, Walter is absolutely my favorite character. I think I've mentioned it before but I just adore him. He's like a little child at times but a brilliant man.

Joseph Meegar 's actor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, was on Jimmy Kimmel last night!
