Hello All!

Olivia is wondering if not telling Peter is the right move, he can sense something's not quite right. He thought it was down to the almost kiss - be still my beating heart! I also love that this episode's 'MOTW' still related to the main arc and the kids that were experimented on like Olivia. Walter decides to come clean to Peter...how is he gonna break that kind of news though??!!!!

Much love

Dakara x

Dakara, One of the reasons I love Fringe so much is that we are not always given all the details/answers/conversations; it is NOT that we are supposed to work out the details ourselves - it is that we are allowed the freedom to have our own head-canon as to what happened, and if my version of what happened is different from yours it does NOT mean that one of us is wrong! We are simply enjoying two similar but slightly different series (call them Fringe and alt-Fringe if you will...)

ah, a nice break from from the repeated gut punches of the last couple episodes, despite the tension with olivia and tragedy with james. and we get to see sam again, yay! btw i believe walter is making a version is saltwater taffy (no actual saltwater involved), an old school american sweet, brightly colored and VERY chewy. the process of making taffy involves a lot of stretching ("pulling"), which is what it looks like walter is doing in the kitchen, though usually i see taffy being pulled much further. this isn't important but you seemed very confused about the taffy situation lol

The woman from the cold open is the uncredited Diane Kruger. I feel like it was a big deal that she dropped by (I'd go as far as some of us thinking it was cute and supportive of her lol oh how things have changed lol) And James the cancer guy was later on The Affair which is imo the best thing Josh has ever done. I put that show in the same category as Mad Men - a great show where you basically dislike every character but can't look away because everyone ate their roles.  I didn't remember Olivia being this torn about her decision. For some reason in my mind she was more determined to tell him the truth. Instead she's looking for excuses not to and she does it for quite selfish reasons, too. Similarly to Walter she's not risking losing Peter. It's just so sad that their mutual feelings are what actually keep them apart.

A shame they didn't make better use of Diane Kruger, I hadn't realised she was dating Joshua Jackson at the time!

Neumann

what do you mean about diane kruger, am i missing something? i just think it's funny and wild that she went from helping steal the declaration of independence to a such a bit part lol

DB

@Neumann She dated Josh Jackson for many years. This cameo was basically a favour to him, to boost the show. I'm pretty sure this was around the time Inglorious Basterds came out so she and Mélanie Laurent (ugh cannot stand her) were really popular in Hollywood.

Oh I love this episode! I think it is evident now that even the standalones won't really be standalones from now on. The case may be open and closed but the plot is so all-encompassing now that you don't even mind or maybe even welcome a breather. Peter on speed dial and the chat in the car about their little family unit are the highlight for me. And to see Olivia struggle so much and hurting FOR Peter but being absolutely terrified of hurting him even more by telling him or risk losing him was a huge part in the Polivia journey for me. I believe we also realize just how much she cares by now and SHE is realizing it too by how involved/vulnerable she feels (just like the choice she made a few eps ago to save Walter instead of following Newton). Next week is massive and I cannot wait! I am just adoring your in-depth read on the characters, Dak. You can pick up on the most subtle pieces of acting they do and I think it makes you understand all the characters perfectly and it makes me enjoy your reactions immensely <3
