Hello All!

Dakrya came out in full force yet again and I'm so sorry!! I'm clearly unstable haha. Naiomi and her situation hit me right in the feels though AND I swear to Lucifer if Chrisjen is hurt in anyway I will be so pissed! If I'd want anyone to protect me though, it would be Bobbie and Cotyar. I pray they're all gonna be okay! What a bloody episode, this show needs to calm down for Pete's sake!

Much love

Dakara x

The pacing of this show, I swear!!

Isak Haugerud

This is another amazing episode, and I'd be worried for you if you hadn't teared up during the refugee scene! Loved how the big belter who seemed like he was going to be a problem turned out to be just an absolute gigachad hero in the end, RIP. Holden seems quite traumatized by what he experienced on Eros, he brought it up again while he was arguing with Prax. That trauma is a big part of why he's slipping into this "soldier-mode" as a way of coping. At least that's what I think. Oh and you think the show needs to calm down? Yeah... that's cute 🤣

In the books, Errinwright isn't anywhere near as developed as in the TV version and from what I recall we never see the story unfold through his eyes either, so there isn't a lot more insight into his scenes in this episode. I see his humanization serving another purpose by really making it clear he had a choice. He was aware of what was coming and was preparing for it. Then Avasarala let slip about the Mao meeting, he thought perhaps he could salvage the situation, at least in part. But later you see him writing the letter to his son. Is he hoping for the best and preparing for the worst? Or is still undecided, and considering whether to go through with it? We may never really know. In the end it seems he took his own advice that he gave to his son and followed his 'heart' by putting Earth first no matter the cost.

hehehehe... I like the dropbox thumbnail... (don't hate me... smiling and laughing is good). 😬

AC10

WHOOHOO

AC10

"In the books..." I HAVEN'T READ THEM YET!!! 😔 omg why haven't I read this incredible story yet??? Like for real though... Why have I not read this? (I've watched the show 4 times now).

AC10

Hey hey hey... Psychopaths enjoy this show too.... I assume.... O_o

AC10

O_O $125 for the book series on Amazon right now.... I may have to read this digitally...

Has anyone else waited 2+ months to be able to BINGE Watch 10 new episodes of Dakaras The Expanse Season 2 uninterrupted!?!?!???? No? (I'm not weird your weird).

PongPong31

The first time Dak says her name , and doesn't go, "Bob-beh". My life has been a lie...

Beat Conductor

The greatest single-episode character of all time, Champa the Champ! That scene is a great insight into the mind of the average Belter, cause since we left Ceres, we've only been dealing with people in positions of power, even if they were just gang members. It's nice to be reminded that not all Belters are like Dawes, or members of Black Sky and the other gangs. There's a lot of great details in this episode but my favorite is the cucumbers on Jules' ship. Cucumbers take an insane amount of water to grow, so they probably weren't common on Earth, let alone even being available any where else. It's really just a flex from Jules. "I have so much money/power I can have cucumbers in space". Also, we really started to see the trauma of everything Holden has gone through since we've been in the story. First, all his friends and lover are killed, then they all almost die on the float, only to be captured by Mars, then that ship blows up and every one dies. Then the stealth ship and almost dying multiple times on Eros, the experiment, a WHOLE BUNCH more people dying, then he's forced to kill people just trying to help and to let Miller die. Holden just wanted to haul some ice and be a good person. Also also, side note, we haven't even hit maximum speed yet for this show.

PongPong31

Ah yes, team ABC (Avasarala, Bobbie, Cotyar). The funniest trio in the entire solar system. Their back and forth, with Chrisjen's savagery, Cotyar's deadpan wit, and Bobbie's provocative banter could easily lead the show to being classed as a comedy sitcom. You would've fitted right in with your, "That was some ugly crying right there...Why do I do this to myself?? Kinda hoping this footage gets corrupt"

PongPong31

You are a man of focus, commitment, and sheer will...

Polly

I love this episode, the heroic Champa and the subversion of what we expect desperate crowds to do. It's a great example of this show's ability to give an actor in a tiny role a chance to make a big impact. Belters may not have much but they have the gift of the gab.

Azraelov

dak what do you mean, why are you like this? We all do it, it's too good not to! Don't you dare stop humming that intro... if you do I might have to start a revolt 😝 much love as always m'lady ❤️

DakaraJayne

I was so aware of it! I had to try my hardest not to sound like my common ass self

PongPong31

If Bobbie and Alex can take their Kiwi and Texan cowboy accents all the way to Mars, you get to keep that northern inflection.

PaulC

Nope, need my weekly fix 😁

I think the big thing with Holden in this episode, and this season really, is that he has a lot of trauma from what he saw on Eros. He saw how much pain the people of Eros were in when taken over by the Protomolecule, and he experienced how Protogen didn't even care. And now all he's hearing is that Earth, the OPA and now Mars all still want to use the Protomolecule for their own ends. So Holden believes the only way to stop another Eros is to make sure there's no more Protomolecule left. But unfortunately, it might be too late for that. So in this episode we see how both Holden and Naomi are suffering from PTSD of Eros. Naomi has survivor's guilt and Holden wants to destroy every last bit of Protomolecule. This leads them both to make, maybe not entirely rational choices, but choices rooted in trying to do their best to make up for what happened on Eros. And as far as Errinwright goes, I think it's not so much misreading him, but moreso that we all underestimated him. After all, Avasarala is the one who trained him and he's just as capable in playing the political game. I think he was ready to throw in the towel initially, but Avasarala slipped when she told him about the meeting with Mao. Errinwright saw his chance and took it and ended up making a masterful move.

PaulC

Haha, Errinwright nearly had you, didn't he?

Robert

Loved the episode. I called it when I said that Chrisjen would take Draper, but not the full reason why, so partly right. She's starting to like the people that she's with, you can see that near the end of the episode when she puts herself between Chrisjen and danger. Holden, wrongly believes that he can still control the situation, by taking the protomolecule off the board. He has turned away from that path, but still believes that the molecule must be stopped. I knew that Naomi would open the doors again, she had to try to get through to the people that only so many could come aboard. Champa was the G.O.A.T this episode, he reminded everyone that they chose a hard life, and that they could make the hard choices that came with it. Giving "his spot" to Naomi was his way of thanking her for reminding him he was a belter, not a thug. The whole scene got to me, I even saluted their willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. Jules Mao is giving off "Morbuis" vibes(a reference to "The Forbidden Planet", and if you haven't seen it you need to; it's great!!) Errinwright has gone bye bye. In his mind everything he's done has been for the good of Earth. Even his betrayal. I have a feeling that Fred Johnson will be coming back into the story soon, Chrisjen and Holden will both need a place to go, the station is the best candidate. The writers seem to be going in the direction of the molecule being a life form. Science fiction has played with the idea before; a life form that is completely foreign to us. In fact, the whole idea of the story "Ender's Game" is based on the idea that WE are foreign to the alien's concepts of life. Wouldn't it make a great twist if that was happening here?

Robert

Also love Dakara's "common ass" way of saying things. Don't you dare try to change it! It's "you".

Thank you Dakara for reacting to The Expanse, is one of my favorite shows. I’m not in the best place in my life and re watching the series with you really helps. Have you considered watching 2 episodes per week? Hope you are well and happy :)

DakaraJayne

I'm so sorry life isn't treating you kindly, glad the vids helped some what. I sadly can't watch 2 just yet. I've got cobra kai and pilots at the mo but I'd like to up the amount when possible

Joost

Buckle up though, the show goes into overdrive in season 3, which I personally regard as some of the best TV ever made :)

Stephen petersen

In Australia primevideo has just dropped the first three season, hope you don't have a issue watching

Isak Haugerud

Hopefully you have other ways of watching it if it's removed from Prime in the UK as well, like VPN etc.

Polly

That's bizarre. Why would they think people wouldn't want to watch the first three seasons? This is why I buy hard copies of my favourite movies and shows.

Stephen petersen

Made by a different company before prime took over and the rights have expired

Isak Haugerud

Yeah, the first three seasons were made for SyFy. And hard copies is the way, either that or "soft" copies if you know what I mean 😉

Shawn Anomaly

Nobody escapes the "52" episode without completely breaking down in tears! "THIS SHOW!" is basically something everyone ends up finding themselves saying once things get going compared to what they felt like in S1. It's absolutely amazing what this show does! To think, S1 needed to be done the way it was done to pay off all that's to come! Looking forward to the rest of your journey now that I've caught up having just watched your S3 video earlier!

RemovalOfMasks

One of my favourite episodes of The Expanse!! So much tension, so much pivots around those moments, such foreshadowing (but without giving us too much). It's a masterclass in writing and in execution; as you said, the acting is phenomenal... Holden literally becomes another version of himself (a bit like Mal's crisis moment in Serenity "So I hear a word out of any of you that ain't helping me out or taking your leave, I will shoot you down"...) 💔

RemovalOfMasks

Not to mention Errinwright's "gear change"! 😱
