Hello All!

I'm almost certain I've read way too much into this episode and end up going on a tangent that doesn't need to be had. Having said that, it all just felt so off to me in this episode. Peter going off on his own mission to kill a bunch of shifters and steal data and no one acknowledge that or even question it thoroughly seems concerning. Let's not forget him lying to Wlaters face about what he's been up to and Olivia as well!? I guess they all have a lot going on, but I'd like some conversation guys please!

Much love

Dakara x

1: i totally forgot about this episode, even your description up top didn't jog my memory so i think that may tell you about it's ultimate impact lol 2: walter is referring to when he walked into the room and the machine reacted. previously, that was just a non-functional piece of the machine, not enough to alter anything. we've seen peter since he came back and he hasn't been this cold or clinical until now, even talking to fauxlivia multiple times about the humanity of the other side. he's even seen that shapeshifters can kind of gain human emotions and connections and he was never dismissive of it. don't worry, all of his moment's between coming back home and now were all him 3: thanks for reading out my comment!

Honestly, I watched this episode for the first time maybe a month or two ago, and what I remember from it is basically disappointment because Peter is a little out of character in my opinion. I understand that they wanted to show how the machine could possibly affect him, and how he can reach the limit and want to discover the truth after everything that has happened and if his destiny is supposedly related to the machine, but it still seems like a weird episode to me... In my opinion it's a bit of filler, there are some useful things to advance the plot, but I think that maybe they used it more as an excuse so that with Peter's behavior, we would see a "approach" with Olivia and her apology. I love your reactions Dakara and how you care! 💖 P.S. By the way, not related to Fringe, but I just finished Cobra Kai, and I recently saw your reaction to episode 6x10, and I left you a comment answering your curiosity about where it was filmed.😉

I don't know why people have trouble digesting this episode. For me it makes perfect sense. Let's not forget that while Olivia was dealing with her emotions, Peter kept all of his bottled inside (for Olivia's sake and for everyone else's). And considering he stumbled upon that code and deciphered the list of names (coupled with the fact that his suggestion of a password cracked that code) we can infer that he was reading quite intensely the notes Fauxlivia wrote about him. With all that betrayal, loss and anger, it's no surprise that he snapped, especially after he saw what the machine did to him. He got impatient. Wether or not the machine 'weponised' him - a definite effect of that encounter (especially with the nose bleeds) is giving Peter a certain desperation for answers! Imagine having the faith of the world in your hands, how many can cope with that?

For me, it's how it was written/introduced. Didn't flow for me. Especially after watching episode 12 where it was like it never happened. The concept makes sense but the execution missed the mark imo.

i would just like to add an addendum after watching a video essay/analysis of the season: the guy i watched in the video interpreted peter's behavior more as a way of coping with his trauma through vengeance by reverting back to his criminal past. idk if i fully buy into that but it's an interesting idea!
