Hello All!

Loving Olivia & Fauxlivia scenes in this episode! Anna is absolutely nailing it. Peter is trying hard to connect with Walter but he's scared of this 'stranger' that's shouting his name. I'm really enjoying the The Observer scenes too! I always do, I wanna see more of these moments so I can start putting the pieces together!

Much love

Dakara x

Hi Dakara, I see you've reached the Love/Hate season. My head was spinning fast from all of the twists and turns. While I appreciated the great acting (and forewarned, this may elicit some tears soon), I confess I started to wonder at the change in tone and direction of the show. It didn't seem logical or 'inevitable' to me at all. But I kept watching, of course. The producers have stated that they had a definite goal in mind for the final ending, but at times it didn't seem that way to me. Repeated watches haven't helped me, either...:)

This episode, like the one with the pattern guy and Olivia’s first case in redverse, has stuck with me since i first saw it. I just absolutely adore it, the actor playing john McClennon was amazing (and also reminded me of the observer august a little bit, in his facial expressions!) of course, i also love seeing the olivias working together on the other side and Lincoln being levelheaded as ever, but it’s genuinely the case and the people involved that got me. Idk if you missed it, but back in the original timeline, where Olivia met peter as a child, she DIDNT kill her stepfather and she got the birthday cards every year. This timeline, she killed him. Very interesting Also: spotted the observer! Fittingly, he was in the background in a doorway when Olivia and broiled were talking about people leaving indelible marks on the soul

This episode pretty much sums up all of the things i absolutely adore about this season and why i truly believe it represents the “final form” of the show that started in season 1, the ability to go seamlessly from universe to the other to me adds so much more weight to the storytelling and allowes much deeper exploration of the characters and a normal “case of the week” episode can become something truly special, gosh i just love this season and i firmly believe that if the timeline had stayed the same this type of interactions between the world would just not be possible, but that’s a topic for a later reaction. All of the Olivias stuff is amazing because now for the first time we can really explore what makes them truly different, a big difference from the og timeline that we learn in this ep is that Olivia has actually killer her stepfather in this timeline and that’s major change, not only because it makes her childhood even darker but because that mean that she didn’t receive all of those letters over the year on her birthday that we saw in season 1, so while she has had to live with the fact that she actually killed someone (in self defense) when she was little she also hasn’t had that constant dread from the letters over her head, such an interesting change, but we’ll learn more about her upbringing soon enough. Overall with this first two episodes that things that surprised me the most we not your reaction Dak which have been great as usual and i’ve loved watching you be confuse by this new “version” of the show 😂, but it’s actually the response in the comments, i knew that this season/timeline was a controversial topic but i have to say i hadn’t realize how many people didn’t like/hated up until now, it probably has to do with the fact that there is a much bigger Fringe community in your subscribers that any other creator i have watched react to the show and with this many more people it’s normal that you get a much more varied pool of opinions, but i have really found myself fascinated by the response to this season, it truly feels like there’s a lot of people that out this show in their favorite solely (or almost) based on the first three’s seasons alone, i hope we get to explore the why more in the comments during your reactions to the season because truly for me it’s the opposite if the show had ended at season 3 i still would have liked a lot for sure but it would have had no chances to become my favourite show of all time, season 4 and 5 are truly what cemented it for me, anyway the rumbling have gone long enough and i can’t wait to get your opinion as your progress through, i have a suspicion that you will end up linking too but we’ll see.

I've seen this whole series a couple times and this is the first time I've noticed the gas station at the second universe. 99 cents per gallon, 9/11 never happened there so gas prices were never artificially raised to fund all of the forever wars. That's an interesting detail they threw in there
