Hello All!

New season, new vibe, same amazing characters! So there are abundance of rings now and the human race is trying to make sense of them all and keep their people safe in the process. Some Belters have took matters into their own hands and moved to Elos...Lets hope Holden and the Roci team can sort this out!

Much love

Dakara x

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Having trouble watching this video? Please follow the below steps:

- Please make sure you are signed into your Google Account to watch the google drive links. The links are temperamental if you are not signed in.

- If for whatever reason the links still aren't working for you, please try an alternative browser. For example, if you are using Microsoft edge please try google chrome. Again though, you must be signed into your google account.

- The above should solve your issues, in the odd case it doesn't, I can only put it down to it being a fresh upload and too many people are accessing the link...on this occasion I typically leave a temporary link at the bottom of the description. This lasts for 4 weeks after my initial posting. The exceeded views does reset so please be patient & try again on another day.

"Where was this shot?" At a quarry outside Toronto. (The Expanse was filmed at Pinewood Toronto Studios.)

"The pacing isn't near as intense as I'm used to" - This is definitely a different vibe of a season than s2-s3 were. One thing I've really come to appreciate with this show is that it takes its time to really build up and explain its characters and build out the world and I think this season does that very well.

The Expanse (the show) is sort of structured as two trilogies, partly because it was cancelled and then renewed, but also in pacing and story. In this first episode it felt a lot more like season 1 to me, which isn't necessarily bad as it gives more time to set things up, though I prefer the rollercoaster drop of the latter half of season 3. A cool little detail in this episode: When Bobbie comes home to her brother he's talking to a woman (his wife maybe?) who seems to be annoyed that Bobbie is staying with them. As she leaves Bobbie says "see you Rana". The creators of The Expanse have confirmed they gave her that name after Rana from The Normies, a big reaction channel on Youtube who did reactions to The Expanse 😃

Clarissa asks Amos not to call her Melba (her fake name), so he calls he Peaches (Melba -> Peach Melba (a well known dessert) -> Peaches)

Season 4 is incredible. One of my favorites. So excited to see this part of the story coming at you. 😬😬😬

AC10

"Holden, do not put your dick in it... It's fucked enough already." That has to be my favorite quote so far this whole series.

AC10

Oooo last few seconds we got a little movement outta her... A little jump scare. I like it. 😬

PongPong31

Amos caught up in Avasarala’s magnificence. “No, I mean what was she wearing?” I ship it. 🤣 Speaking of Chrisjen, it’s like she's making up for her absence during the second half of last season. Lol. “They're calling the planet Ilus” “Makes sense. IIus was the brother of Ganymede” “Who gives a fuck? I didn't bring you here to teach me Mythology” God bless the woman. Thanks for another fun reaction! P.S. Do your subs say Elos? Or did you not have them on Dak?

Robert

Nice intro to a new season. It finds everyone in a very new place; facing the same problems, with a different solution, maybe? Refugees racing toward the Ring to find a new home is an old story. It was bound to happen. The blockade is also an old story, as the more established powers want to understand what they're going to find. I missed Christjen and was happy to see her. The role of UN chief is obviously NOT for her. I honestly believe that she would indeed order UN ships to fire on their own people. I was wondering about Bobbi when the scene cut to her working in a ... scrapyard? The following scenes cleared that up a bit. It's too bad that she lost so much, just because she wanted to keep her integrity(I love her for that!). If she were to show up at the Roci with just a duffel bag, they'd take her aboard with no questions. But, alas, she's a Mars girl to the core. Ashford is doing his best to maintain the fragile peace that now exists, but you can see it's starting to take a toll on him. Loved the way the writers showed Naomi's first reaction to a "real" world. She's lived in space her whole life, so her reactions to natural light, air. and especially gravity, were much appreciated.(not sure it's the right word, but it's the only one I can think of.). When the first ship was descending, I thought that they were being fired on, but the refugee compound showed no such emplacements. This swarm, though, is a much better candidate. It leaves the question though; just what in the hell have they gotten into this time?

AC10

I didn't know that!!!! Thanks for sharing.

AC10

Bobbie is my favorite character... Amos is my favorite character... Both are very different characters and BOTH are Equally my favorite character for different reasons. 😬😬😬

Ian

Kicking off another season had drummer in it so extra credits for that , cow juice in ya coffee dak minus credits for that one but beautiful lipstick so I'll let you off 😅 . Love that Amos calls Melba peaches , as I said a while ago the only good melba is a peach Melba so I guess I better start liking her now eh 🙂 . All our characters in this one even miller . Definitely a set up episode but some nice moments scattered throughout , ok extra extra credits for another wonderful reaction dak 🔥 you're a star ✨ especially filming in this heat , been building a roof and tiling it and I've been melting although I did walk to the beach which is one minute away from job and fully clothed jumped in it was really nice 🙂 , so yeah cheers for filming in such conditions you're awesome

I can confirm that the name Rana came from the Normies. They were literally the first reaction channel to The Expanse I found in 2018. They did a great job reacting to the show in real time and met the writers at a convention one time. Rana was subsequently worked into that episode and there are other little nods to the Expanse fans (the Screaming Firehawks) as this season progresses. It was very endearing that they were thanking the fans that way for supporting and saving the show!

AC10

😮 you too?? I've never heard of this thing before today. I'm going to have to make it now. (The peach thing just to be clear)

AC10

Omg... Ok I finished reading... A job site walking distance from the beach??? Sounds like a dream. 😍

Ian

Yes while up on the roof one can see the ocean 🙂 we quite often get jobs close to the beach Plus I live a 10 mins drive from the coast so always close to the beach 👍

Polly

I think that showing Amos being kind to Clarissa is a good shorthand for saying she might be worth redeeming. He was all for killing her at first. We know he divides people into categories and she is no longer one of the bad people.

Polly

I like to think that the powers that be gave the Mormons one of the new worlds as compensation for the loss of the Nauvoo.

Ian

Definitely and if you get on Amos's good side you have someone that will support you to the end , because we got a time jump we don't know exactly what happened between the two of them to get to where we are now , friends but hopefully we will get some flashbacks in sure dak demands it 🙂

Etta Eskridge

In one weeks time I will be at the beach in Cornwall! Looking forward to some away time with my family that lives there!! Will catch up when I return!

Love seeing how cool the Roci is looking this season and how the ratio changed on Ilus. And I really liked seeing Burn Gorman as Murty, or better known to most as Karl "f*cking" Tanner from Gin Alley on GoT, Hermann from Pacific Rim, Major Hewlitt from TURN, etc. Seen him in many shows!
