Thanks 😬

When Holden spoke of taking the Belters first, it was only to the latrine not up the ropes and out of the structure which was what Mutry was talking about at first.

Robert

I was wrong about the slugs, they were just an obstacle. The real key was Holdens cancer drugs. Now they can get out of the structure and on to the next obstacle. I knew that the tow would work. I won't lie, I thought that they'd hit some kind of snag, and still might, but the idea of getting the Barb into a higher orbit was solid. Bobbi is having a crisis of conscience. She need to find her own way through, or she'll be lost. Christjen is trying to keep everything together, but losing herself along the way. That's the unfortunate price leaders need to pay. Their policies will be remembered as good , but they, themselves, will be remembered as lacking. I was beginning to like Ashford. At first< I saw him as an opportunist, but since been shown as a complex man, that has seen to much violence, and just wants something better for the future.

Back from 3x10 when it was just Alex and Amos on the Roci, stuck inside the Ring space. Amos, “I haven't felt fear since I was five years old.” Alex, “I wish I could go through life without feeling fear.” Amos, “No. You don't” In many ways, no character on The Expanse represents the incredible journey the show has taken us on, better than Amos. We're first presented with this seeming brute of a man, whom we know nothing about, and aren't really sure what to make of. It soon becomes apparent that there is so much more to him. We're never spoon fed facts, or emotionally manipulated in an attempt to force opinions on us. Just glimpses here and there along the way. Then, quite fittingly, Amos is front and centre when the insanity of Season 3 kicks in. Moments like, him chucking a grenade back to where it came from, to the absolute cinema of “I am that guy” We've been taken on such an emotional journey, filled with camaraderie and the complexities of love. Enter, “This is Amos. He's my best friend in the whole world.” And now, in the darkness, Amos takes us back to when he was five years old. The Expanse is one of a kind. Just as Amos stands alone. And we still have so many layers of that onion left to peel. Such a great reaction. As always. I'll leave the rest of the craziness of this episode to the others. Thanks Dak!

Season 5? 😆

Haha. I hadn't realised until l read this. XD

I thought you missed it the first time, but yes - a few episodes ago Murtry ordered his ship (which is unarmed) to rig one of its two shuttles with a proximity fuse, the idea being that when it gets close to something it will overload its engines and explode. It’s not a proper weapons system, but certainly dangerous. He didn’t like the Roci being the only armed ship in the system.

Tony Leadholm

The Drummer/Ashford scene where he says age changes you, etc... what a fabulous effing scene. To think where those two started, all that they've been thru together and to be where they are now...I'm just blown away by how brilliant the writers have been. Truly phenomenal.

Tony Leadholm

Is this the first time we've seen Drummer smile? I know she giggled a little when describing how the Roci just missed being evaporated back in Season 2. But this I think is her first real legitimate smile.

What I love about the writing of this show is that when you get to this point and you as the viewer have developed affection for the characters. You go back to throw away lines that you might have even chuckled at the first time and they change all meaning. Even in this one too with Avasarala when Frank said in episode 3 season 1 “I knew then that you’d do anything to win. And I can’t play with you anymore.” And now we see it in action. It utterly phenomenal Amos in episode 6 of season 1 when he mentioned he was staying in a flop house that he grew up in a "place like this" and it appears the sex work industry is a part of that. Now a few seasons on we hear that he was kept in a basement in the dark and then "they came in". Now we feel silly for grinning at the earlier dialog, it appears that not only did Amos grow up in and around prostitution but also was abused as a child in some pedophilic sex service. Its honestly horrifying. And again we see the brilliance of this show and slowly but surely build this cause and effect of why Amos is the way he is, how he had to disconnect his emotions to survive, why he follows good people and has a very simple view on the three types of people and how he deals with them. I have never since this show experienced such incredible storytelling and I am not sure I will ever again. Btw first time commenter and I just wanted to say I love getting to the end of the episode reaction and your comments pop up giving really awesome food for thought and perspectives for Dak to munch on :)

I think we saw her smile when she and Naomi "put ball to the wall" in that episode were Drummer says "I see you are from some rock". Other than that its a rare occurence. I love the Ashford and Drummer friendship!
