Hello All!

What a closing episode! I am very happy with that ending! You may not think that when you see the ugly crying within this reaction but trust me, I enjoyed it haha. The feels were very much there throughout this but it's been a lot of episodes with these characters and I was super connected. Peter mouthing, 'I love you Dad' asdfghjkkl!!!! Etta being with her happy parents again - Perfection! Thank you ALL so much for joining me on this journey! It's been incredible!

Next up is Wednesday & The X Files! I'm excited to start these next week!

Much love

Dakara x

10/10 finale! Never has there been such a satisfying, exciting, and happy finale in my opinion. Even Walter's ending as bittersweet as it is, is so satisfying. I feel like Walter needed to end this show with a sacrifice. The show has been building to that from the beginning. But it also wasn't a cheap shot ending where he dies or something. Peter and Olivia ending the show happy with their daughter is perfection. That moment when Peter scoops up Etta in his arms as the music swells and in that moment you know that the plan worked in unmatched in terms of the sheer happiness that one feels! The song in the background is called "The Resetting Son" and you can find it on Youtube and Spotify. It never fails to make me cry with happiness whenever I hear it. I love this episode so much. I love the way it so action packed and exciting while also pushing the characters forward and simultaneously wrapping up their stories in a great way that feels satisfying as the fans deserve. BTW This is why I believe that Michael allowed himself to be kidnapped by the observers in 5x11. Olivia had to have cortexiphan in her system in order to kill Windmark

I can't believe we're here already. I don't know if I want to press play... I might have been slightly less enthusiastic about these last 2 seasons but I genuinely loved rewatching this show with you <3 You should check out extra Fringe stuff just to make this last a bit longer. I remember bloopers and Comic Con panels. What's next? Any plans? Did you get any suggestions?

Thadman

Oh, I just watched this finale a couple of hours ago and, yeah, there was ugly crying happening somewhere in this house. Can't exactly pinpoint from where it was coming from. Might've been a ghost. We'll probably never know. 😁

SaltyInternetPirate

This is indeed a fantastic ending to a series. So many out there get cancelled before they can give a proper goodbye to the audience, but not Fringe, and not Stargate SG-1 or Stargate Atlantis. Stargate Universe did get cut short when MGM went bankrupt again. SyFy that it was airing on wanted another season, but there was literally no one to pick up the phones on MGM's side, because of the bankruptcy and layoffs. I would not recommend those for reactions, though. They do have a lot of gems, but also a LOT of filler episodes in 10+5+2 seasons respectively.

Koz

Hmm, Wednesday and The X-Files. Well, the latter is a LONG one.

DakaraJayne

Gonna try and find Xena pilot too dont you worry Koz

DakaraJayne

I was thinking Wednesday s2 and Xfiles. I need to get some more pilots on the go too of course.

Koz

Wow! That wasn't why I posted that message, but this is glad to know. (I will DM you on Discord.)

Thadman

I was SO upset when they cancelled "Stargate: Universe." It was such and interesting show an premise.

Am. C

Really, I'm so glad they stuck the landing with the finale, so often shows don't. Also, so glad you chose to go on with the x-files! I feel like it's the only show to fill the fringe void lol

Leonardo

In the end...Nina, Sam Weiss, and everyone else killed by the observers since the invasion also lived. Since they reset time, everyone who died since the invasion will have an alternative future where they will continue on living. I remember that there was some sort of explanation the producers gave, as to why the reset happened from the invasion and the events previous to that were unaffected, however I don't remember what was the logic behind it. I have watched most Sci-Fi franchises of the past 30 years and Fringe has by far the most wholesome ending. Regarding upcoming shows, I love X-files, although I haven't watched it in a long time and some episodes might feel dated, (except for S11E04 which I watch recently and it is more relevant than ever) Wednesday I watched season 1, and I tried to watch season 2 a couple of days ago and I found it boring. Stargate SG-1 is a great show to react to. A short but good one was Caprica (a prequel to Battlestar Galactica) there are so many...I am sure more will come to mind. Thanks Dakara for the amazing reactions!

Thadman

It was when Walter said, "You are my favorite thing." That got me both times and I usually don't cry the first time I see something, but it broke me the first time and still made me lose it this time. To a lesser extent, Walter and September's conversation.

Thadman

Ha, you mentioned expecting to see the loyalist again and I totally didn't even think about that guy. I figured the thing about Etta letting him go had more to do with Etta being influenced by Olivia than what that guy would do next. I trusted that he meant what he said and that Olivia swayed both of them to change a bit.

Thadman

I still am not sure what Michael meant by doing the shush sign. He did it twice. If anyone knows, please fill me in.

John Bieleny

Another great reaction, this is one of my favorite series ever and had a lot of fun watching your reactions to this. Now that you have a free space could you please finish your reaction to Warrior Nun, still not sure why you left that mid season.

John Bieleny

Yeah Stargate Universe was a fav too. A crime it only got 2 seasons.

PongPong31

The X Files starting next week announcement, is like when you think a quality movie is over, but a post credit scene starts playing to hype you up for the next one.

Michael R

And so the journey ends but it never truly ends all you have to do is go back to the start and begin again, which I've done four times now...lol. Thank you Dakara, for being such an amazing viewing companion, it was such a joy for me to go back every second was a joy.

Cathy Gillies

Thank you for such a great reaction to one of my favourite shows.

taylor watson

They could have just left Broyles in custody. Once they reset time it doesn't matter if he's alive or dead in that timeline. It was kind of a waste of time

DakaraJayne

I guess they had their doubts the plan would definitely work

DakaraJayne

It wasn't getting the traction at the time and people mentioned it was cancelled last minute

Khensi

This finale really caught me at such a tender moment, I knew everything that was coming but boy did I sob. I fully expected Dakryer to come out in full force, and I mean, how could she not. I loved your reaction to this entire series. I was 2 when the X files first aired and cought some of the show in reruns in later years and liked it. Im looking forward to starting it from scratch with you.

Leonardo

The went there to get the Cube needed to change the polarity of the wormhole and saw the opportunity to save him, he later participated in the shootout at the end, I am sure that he took out a few of the Loyalist and Observers, thus helping carry out the last part of the plan.

Leonardo

The 1st time was about telling Olivia to take a moment to let Astrid's brain come up with the plan to highjack a shipping lane. No idea what he meant the 2nd time when Olivia kills Windmark.

Nate

Almost like they made the emotional choice, not the logical one, hm?

DakaraJayne

Yeah, there is no way I'd be able to leave a loved one

DB

I'm looking forward to the X Files. It was one of the shows I remember discussing at school the day after. I would've been 12 or 13 when it started. I have the entire series on DVD but I don't think I've ever properly rewatched it. I vaguely remember early days but with 10? 11? seasons most episodes are a blur to me now. Wednesday on the other hand I've seen S1 and it was fine but not something I was that impressed with. S2 I tried and couldn't get into. I'm gonna rec for a future consideration Farscape, Severance and Dark. Farscape is often overlooked but it's an impressive high quality sci-fi, Severance is an interesting concept and Dark is just a brilliant mindfck. I don't know if you'd be into any of those but it'd be fun to see your reaction.

Katie

Great suggestions. I love Farscape, Severance and Dark

Katie

This is my favourite show of all time and it has such a satisfyingly perfect ending. Thank you for reacting to it. This was my 5th rewatch watching along with you. You should definitely do a rewatch within the next couple of years. I think the show gets better with every rewatch. Really looking forward to The X files. I watched it a bit back when it was on TV but not consistently and I can't remember much. So will be good to dive back in. Good idea to not post the filler episodes too.

Thadman

When Peter got the cube, he said that he got it and Olivia said, "i found something too." So, they didn't go there to rescue Broyles, she just saw him on the camera and thought "Cool, two birds with one stone."

Philip Fry

I wasn't ready for the end of my favorite show and this incredible journey with other great fans, so I procrastinated for a week. Which probably doesn't make any sense haha One thing I never noticed/grasped before is Michael playing the music box for September as he's dying. Michael often seems so aloof and emotionless, just because he doesn't experience emotions like anyone else. Knowing that the music box was a symbol of connection between the two of them, playing it for September as he lays dying is such a beautiful and touching gesture, in an episode filled with beautiful and touching gestures. And rewatches are probably what makes this show my favorite. It's wild how they use references to future episodes/plots and tug at your emotions about things that aren't even going to happen until seasons later. Such brilliant, next-level writing. It was truly a joy to watch your reactions to it and to see you fall in love with some of the best characters to ever be on TV. Thank you for the journey!

Philip Fry

I always assumed Michael was the one who killed Windmark, and his shush was like a, "Let's just keep this between ourselves, ok?" Lol

Philip Fry

That's such an interesting theory about Michael! I always thought he was the one who killed Windmark and he got off the train to prevent it from being searched and to allow the team to escape, so it's pretty neat to hear another theory I'd never even thought of before! Agree 100% on Walter's ending! It was such a poetic way to bring his journey full circle. The arrogant man who selfishly ruined everything by traveling through universes became the humble man who selflessly fixes everything by traveling through time. Ultimate redemption arc achieved

Sara Croughan

That ghost must've been visiting me lol

I’ve been watching through YT and you only had the Finale left, so I had to come here, because I just couldn’t wait. You didn’t disappoint with your reaction. This has been my favorite show since it aired and I don’t think anything will be able to top it for me. I always thought it ended perfectly and it breaks me every time I watch it. I also have so much nostalgia wrapped up into this, that it never fails to bring me back to that first time I saw this and the fact that I got say goodbye to cast in person during SDCC. Olivia and Peter are definitely in my top couples, they were just so perfect for each other. Walter, his emotions, they just killed me most of the time, I hated seeing him cry. And that tulip at the end and how the cast reacted to seeing them at the panel, I can only imagine how much it meant to them.
