Hello All!

Another X Files reaction and this one is titled Eve, related to Adam and Eve but a very different reference. Genetically modified beings, super creepy... close to the shining twins some might say haha. The experiment goes way too far and they outsmart the creator and turn into killers themselves!

Much love

Dakara x

The creation killing the doctor, the idea actually goes back to Frankenstein, were the creature gets the doctor out on the ice at the North pole.(Yes, I have read the book.) The idea of eugenics is a pretty old one, going back to the early part of the nineteen hundreds. The idea of creating a superman appeals to our worst instincts, and comes right out of a supremist fever dream. There are many today who would still try to play god in that way.

The Eves do have incredible IQ levels. The one in the ward was talking about something like 220+. That's almost double what an average person possesses. I'm thinking it wouldn't have taken too much to mask and manipulate flags of any colour raised, that even a parent raising a child would normally notice. Another top notch episode. Enjoyed your outro discussion about open endings and perspectives quite the bit, I did. We have Mulder, we have Scully, so how would Special Agent Dak go about things? Do you believe? Btw, you're Making thursdays great again! MTGA. Well, a friday for me, this particular evening. For a good couple of years, I'd had gotten so used to your Twitch streams on Thursdays, and always marked out the week's calendar in anticipation. Between your Expanse and X Files uploads, it feels like that slot has been filled again.

I feel that your explanation of the mother's feeling does make sense, but I also thought that she was only indignant before because she DID give birth to her, so maybe she was thinking at the time that this WAS her daughter (because she had no reason to think otherwise before that), then that put the seed in her mind that MAYBE she isn't really her daughter. Then Mulder and Scully come to her afterwards and tell her the truth and that the girl, that turns out to be a genetic experiment, actually killed her husband. Made total sense to me that she then distanced herself from the little psycho. I think both of those things being true (that the girl is genetically not her daughter AND that the girl was the one who killed her husband) is what makes that detachment make sense. It'd be more odd if both of those things weren't true.

I like that episode. They are creepy yes.

I can't wait to see your reaction to all of the great episodes that are coming up. This episode gave me the creeps when I originally saw it.

The 90's band Eve 6 (Inside Out) got their name from this episode.
