Hello All!

What in the acid trip was this episode haha, I am truly sorry if this is a fan favourite and I'm gonna be shamed for my reaction here but this all felt so random and like a fever dream. Mulder was lured by a vampire-esque pixie lady that took out her toxic relationships along with herself. WHUT?! Bring back Scully I beg!

Much love

Dakara x

lol no, definitely not a fan favourite. Most fans do not like this episode, and it's one of the lowest rated of the series on imdb. It's probably the X-Files episode I've watched the least.

Imagine back in the day, I was expecting the conclusion to Scully's peril. But we get "this"? No internet, no clue(at least I didn't know why Gillian Anderson wasn't on the show), why Scully wasn't on the show. It was very frustrating, I couldn't pay attention to this episode at the time. Are you talking about Richard Gere?

DakaraJayne

Thank the sweet lord. Can never be too sure haha. I just knew I wasnt into it!

As a fellow millennial I know you've lived through how rabid our contemporaries were with the romanticization of vampires. Twilight being a huge part of that. Roleplay took on a whole new meaning. SPN had an episode on that too. Haha. I agree on the 5/10 about the necktie. Mulder deserves a pass this episode at least.

Amy

I haven't commented on this element of your reactions yet, but I appreciate every time you rate Mulder's tie! And that's pretty much all I have to say about this episode. "What is this? I hate it" is a fair and warranted response. 😁

The idea of vampirism can be found in many different cultures throughout the world. The belief that we can gain the attributes of our enemy be feasting on his heart and drinking his blood is mostly Meso-American, but was also relevant in Asia and the Asian sub continent. Blood bars are a real thing, and cater to a sub-culture that does drink blood(I know and I'm with you, eeew!). BTW, Richard Geres character name in "Pretty Woman", was Edward. Weird coincidence, because Edward Cullen was the vampire in "Twilight". P.S. The movie "Phenomena" has a shaving scene that is equally erotic.

Dakara, are you ok? The video you posted was you just staring at a black screen while mumbling quietly.

Whaaaaat? I mean I wish thats what happened, this episode didnt exist right?

Swing and a miss by XFiles with this episode. Vampires, very cool idea, but poorly written. I suspect network censors where all over that script and... drained it...of all the fun that could have been.
